Chapter 318: Taking Action

Luo Feng and the other two drank their wine as if no one else was present, while Noran Mountain stood nearby with a dark expression. The other two bald cosmic mercenaries were equally displeased, for in the universe, showing respect to the strong was the most basic etiquette. In their eyes, these three youths were far too arrogant.

“This…” He Ruo and Blythe exchanged glances, too afraid to speak.

“This wine is truly excellent! In the real world, its price would at least increase a hundredfold,” Thunder God praised.

“And it would be hard to purchase,” Hong added.

“Virtual Universe has so many advantages!” Luo Feng praised.

Noran Mountain, standing beside the table, twitched at the corner of his eye. His gaze, like that of a scorpion, swept over the three seated at the table. Suddenly, he hissed, “Three little brats who don’t understand proper etiquette.” Luo Feng and the others still ignored him. “I’ll let you know that even in the Virtual Universe, the strong deserve respect!”

Whoosh!

His right leg, like a massive cleaver, sliced through the air and lightning-fast slashed diagonally at Luo Feng beside him.

“Dare to attack?”

Luo Feng roared, his body sharply sidestepping while his left arm blocked the strike. Bang! Noran Mountain’s right leg slammed into Luo Feng’s arm, sending him flying backward, staggering a few steps. His eyes lit up, and he stared at the wine bottles and plates on the table. They immediately floated up and hurtled toward Noran Mountain.

“Fight!” Thunder God bellowed.

“Hmph!” Hong also dashed forward like lightning.

They were all at the ‘Low-Level Warlord’ physical level—so who would be afraid of whom?

“Be careful, his power output is stronger!” Luo Feng shouted. He had anticipated Noran Mountain’s sudden attack, but the force of that leg strike still exceeded his expectations. His left arm now throbbed painfully.

“Dare you challenge me?”

Noran Mountain’s icy leg slashed toward Thunder God, who was the first to charge. But Thunder God twisted his waist like a pretzel, dodging the kick. His fist traced an arc, as if accelerated by a centrifuge, and howled toward Noran Mountain. Noran Mountain frowned slightly, his left leg suddenly slicing sideways toward Thunder God’s waist, releasing a shockwave.

“Hmph!” Thunder God’s body softened like cotton, wrapping directly around Noran Mountain’s left leg as he prepared to use his entangling kill technique.

“Soft technique?” Noran Mountain’s expression changed slightly.

Buzz!

Muscles along his left leg snapped like coiled springs, and like a large python, he slipped free from the entanglement.

Boom!

A terrifying explosion sound rang out as Hong’s right leg, like a sharp cone, pierced directly toward Noran Mountain’s head. Noran Mountain sneered and charged forward, slightly lowering his stance to easily evade the kick. Yet, Hong’s right foot instantly slammed downward, striking Noran Mountain’s head!

“Roll away!” Noran Mountain roared, his head actually colliding directly. His neck swelled two or three times its normal size.

Boom!

His head clashed with Hong’s right foot. Hong lost balance and flew sideways. Thunder God, meanwhile, his hands like a lover’s caress, fingers flickering like a breeze against Noran Mountain’s flushed face. But upon closer inspection, each finger seemed like a python.

Hiss~ Hiss~ Hong charged in again, fists like waves, each strike heavier than the last, eerily relentless.

“Break the Spirit!”

From a distance, Luo Feng shouted.

A strand of mental force, like a sewing needle, pierced directly into Noran Mountain’s mind.

“Roll away!!!” Noran Mountain bellowed, his eyes wide with fury. His arms grotesquely swelled, radiating a strange prickling sensation. He dispersed Thunder God’s palms and Hong’s fists, then struck their chests, sending both flying backward, spitting blood.

Silence.

In the vast hall of the Kill Arena, many turned to look.

“Break anything, the cost will be deducted from my account,” Noran Mountain declared, then glared coldly at Luo Feng and the others.

Luo Feng, Hong, and Thunder God were stunned.

Normally, against opponents of the same level, Luo Feng’s mental attacks would sweep all before them. But this time, without mental force weapons in the hall, he could only use spiritual attacks. Yet this time, it seemed to have no effect on Noran Mountain. As for Hong and Thunder God, both were masters of close combat—Hong a master of internal martial arts, and Thunder God skilled in ancient yoga and internal techniques. Yet both had been defeated by a single opponent.

Needless to say, their physical strength and mental force were equal.

This was the Virtual Universe, where everyone’s physical strength was identical.

“Do you really think you can attack me with spiritual techniques?” Noran Mountain sneered at the shocked Luo Feng. “In the Axe Battleground, without a way to counter spiritual attacks, how could one survive? Let alone win a thousand matches and earn the title of Axe Warrior!”

Though their mental force was equal, Noran Mountain’s consciousness, as a ninth-tier Cosmic-level warrior with the Axe title, was indeed far stronger.

“As for you two.”

Noran Mountain glanced at Hong and Thunder God. “I admit your close combat techniques are no worse than mine, but your power output is pathetic. My output is more than double yours. Don’t think you can look down on a Cosmic-level warrior just because this is the Virtual Universe! Even with the same body, a true warrior can easily crush you.”

“Spoken well!” Quincy, the cosmic mercenary beside him, shouted.

“Exactly!”

“In the Virtual Universe, the weak must still respect the strong!”

“In terms of consciousness, technique, experience, and power output, these brats are far behind. Still arrogant!” Several Cosmic-level warriors nearby spoke up, and soon many in the crowd looked at Luo Feng and the others with strange expressions. Three younglings dared to disrespect a Cosmic-level warrior?

Respecting the strong was the most basic etiquette in the universe!

“Deserved it.”

“Deserved to be crushed.” Many whispered among themselves.

Hong, Luo Feng, and Thunder God’s faces were cold.

“Noran Mountain!”

Luo Feng said icily, “Respecting the strong is the most basic etiquette. Before this, I have never offended a single senior warrior in this Kill Arena! But you, you bastard, because of your greed, how many of my kin have died by your hands? Countless!” Many Earthlings had indeed died because of the Noran Mountain Clan.

In several battles, many had perished due to collateral damage.

Plus, when the Noran Mountain Clan arrived, chaos erupted in every base city across the globe. Many died in the ensuing riots.

“And you even tried to buy my planet?”

“Killing my people, trying to buy my planet, and now you want me to respect you? Nonsense! Dream on!” Luo Feng spat on the ground furiously. Noran Mountain’s face twisted, but he had no rebuttal—what Luo Feng said was indeed true.

The surrounding nobles from various corners of the Black Dragon Mountain Empire nodded slightly. Now they understood. No wonder this young man had clashed with the Axe Warrior.

“Oh…”

“I see.”

“This young man has guts.”

The onlookers were no longer surprised. With such a grudge, naturally there was no question of respect.

Noran Mountain looked at Luo Feng and nodded slightly: “Good tongue.”

“Not just talk, but standing on the right side of justice! When you’re right, you’re bold. So naturally, I won’t fear you or bow to you.” Luo Feng stared at Noran Mountain, smirking. “Mr. Noran Mountain, if you had no greed, why would you bully us three juniors while we drank here?”

Noran Mountain was furious but at a loss for words, clenching his fists in anger.

“Still want to fight?” Thunder God jeered.

“We certainly can’t match you, a ninth-tier Cosmic-level warrior with the Axe title,” Hong, rarely sarcastic, added.

“Big Brother, Second Brother, let’s go.” Luo Feng called out.

“Let’s go.” Hong agreed.

“No need to waste words with such a person.” Thunder God chimed in.

Luo Feng and the others strode directly toward the hall’s exit.

Noran Mountain’s face turned ashen, his heart burning with rage. Yet he knew clearly that it was his own greed for Earth, for its treasures, that made him unable to stand tall. Moreover, he had no intention of revealing this now, for he did not wish others to discover Earth’s treasures!

“Luo Feng!” Noran Mountain said coldly.

Luo Feng turned, looking at Noran Mountain with a smile: “Mr. Noran Mountain, anything else?”

“Just now I attacked you—do you feel unconvinced?” Noran Mountain narrowed his eyes.

“Exactly. I refuse to accept this.” Luo Feng’s lips curled into a sly grin. “You, a ninth-tier Cosmic warrior, hold overwhelming advantages in experience, energy projection, and mental fortitude. This duel was never fair. How could we possibly be convinced?”

“I’ll give you a chance.”

Noran Mountain snorted. “I’ll find three subordinates, equal in level to you, and fight you three matches! If you win even one of the three matches, then this match will be yours. I’ll give you 10 billion Qianwu Coins. If you lose all three, your planet becomes mine.”

“A match is fine, but the stakes—your planet? No.” Luo Feng looked at Noran Mountain.

Noran Mountain clenched his teeth in anger.

This Luo Feng valued Earth far too highly.

Didn’t he know…

Even if he possessed treasures like the Mechanical Clan’s spaceship, with his background, once revealed, others would seize them.

“Refusing 100 billion Qianwu Coins! Just 100 billion!”

He was truly desperate to obtain Earth’s legal ownership. Even if the treasures on Earth couldn’t be excavated, he could auction off Earth and sell all the treasures together! With legal ownership, many things would be far easier to handle—no need for the current sneaking around, sending two Cosmic-level warriors secretly into Earth.

That was called stealing!

Noran Mountain’s greatest fear was that Luo Feng had already applied for Earth’s ownership in the Black Dragon Mountain Empire. Then, the great families of the Black Dragon Mountain Empire would know how to reach Earth.

Noran Mountain feared…

That the great families might take interest in Earth and send forces through wormholes to Earth.

After all, the Noran Mountain Clan was only the third-ranking family in the Karo Empire. The great families of the Black Dragon Mountain Empire were usually founded by Sovereign-level warriors! If such families intervened, the Noran Mountain Clan would have no hope at all.
