Chapter 86: The Killing Intent

Black Dragon Gang’s hideout was quite a distance away from Chinatown. It was a large estate covering about ten hectares. The villa had gray ceramic roof tiles, beige-colored exterior walls, and a “field”-shaped layout, facing north and south, with surrounding terraces supported by eaves columns, forming covered corridors. Around the estate were dormitories for staff, but Mu Lin paid no attention to them.

In a living room within Lin’s psychic range, not only had gathered Black Dragon members like Xiao Ri, but also several white men watching a video of Mu Lin being hypnotized. All of this was transmitted directly into Mu Lin’s brain through his psychic abilities, making everything happening inside feel as if it were right before his eyes.

Perhaps the people monitoring Mu Lin hadn’t sent any alarm, so the few inside the room were speaking recklessly about Mu Lin’s performance. Mu Lin was furious inside, but it wasn’t yet time to act. He needed to find out exactly who else was involved in this plot. If he couldn’t eliminate everything at once, it would leave behind endless troubles.

The video hadn’t even finished playing when these people began whispering among themselves.

“Haha! Can you believe that a smelly, inexperienced kid like him could actually connect with the upper echelons of this entire country? If I hadn’t personally seen him at the clinic’s opening ceremony, I would never have believed it!” One voice commented while watching.

“Yeah! Who would have thought this kid controls and manages a foundation worth billions? If we could get our hands on those funds, imagine how much it would boost our future development!” Another voice agreed.

“By the way, as previously agreed, you get his money and women, and we get him. I hope you have no objections to that!” Mu Lin saw Xiao Ri speaking to the others.

“Haha!” The group of white men burst into laughter. A tall man said, “Only you Asians see him as some kind of treasure. We don’t believe in any of that witchcraft. We only care about his women and his money!” The men in the room laughed even harder.

After a while, one man said, “Have you all thought this through? Could this leave behind any trouble? If the big shots find out and this blows up, if they start investigating seriously, we’ll be facing the entire nation’s elite. That would be a very difficult situation to handle. Even though we have people inside, when the time comes, they won’t be able to save us!”

The room fell silent for a while. After a long pause, one voice finally said, “This time, we nine gangs are working together. And this operation didn’t even involve our own forces directly. Even if they investigate, they won’t be able to trace it back to us. So don’t worry!”

Though those words were spoken, the atmosphere in the room remained quiet.

Another Xiao Ri, noticing the low spirits, quickly spoke up: “Gentlemen, think about it—once this mission succeeds, just the clinic foundation alone will bring in $5.1 billion. Plus the $900 million from our Black Dragon, you’ll be looking at over $6 billion in total income. For such a massive fortune, what else wouldn’t we dare to do?”

The Japanese man’s words stirred the mood in the room, and soon the men were boasting and speaking arrogantly again.

“Excuse me, Mr. Inada, I have a question. This operation’s profits—you don’t want any? Not that I distrust your Black Dragon, but you’re just a minor gang in Chinatown. How could your Black Dragon possibly come up with $900 million all at once?” A white man stood up and asked.

“Haha! Mr. Benson, that’s a great question! But since the operation has already begun, I think it’s already too late for any of you to back out now!” A short, fat Japanese man stood up and spoke in a sinister tone. Then, with an air of arrogance, he continued:

“I’ll let you in on a little secret. This operation is carried out under the orders of the Great Japanese Empire. You may not know, but our New York Black Dragon is only a branch. Back in Japan, the Black Dragon is the largest gang, with over a million members spread across the entire country!”

“Whoa!” Everyone was stunned by the number he revealed. Joking aside, a gang with over a million members—that was an unimaginable scale. If they sent even a third of their members to operate in the U.S., there would hardly be any gang capable of competing with them.

Seeing the tense expressions on everyone’s faces, Inada quickly tried to reassure them:

“Haha! Gentlemen, please don’t be alarmed. Since the U.S. is our ally, our gang here is more like a branch office. We won’t be competing with you for territory.”

The tension in the room finally eased.

“To plan this operation, our headquarters in Japan has provided large numbers of personnel, supplies, and a significant amount of funding. If you’re still worried, tomorrow we will deposit $30 million as a down payment into each gang’s account. The rest will be paid in full after the mission’s completion!”

Hearing that the money was guaranteed, the mood in the room became lively again.

“Mr. Inada,” a burly white man stood up and teased, “if we already have the money, why do we even need your people? We have plenty of manpower. Isn’t that enough?”

“Hehe! Gentlemen, I know all of your leaders have elite troops under their command. But to ensure the mission’s success, the personnel and supplies sent from Japan are the very best. For example, the anesthetic we used today is something only your country’s special forces usually possess. And the surveillance personnel we arranged are true professionals. With this level of support, isn’t our mission even more assured of success?”

Everyone in the room burst into laughter again.

“Gentlemen! Everyone did an excellent job today, using only hired personnel. Now it’s time to plan our next move! Are you all ready?” Inada began issuing orders.

Seeing everyone’s relaxed expressions, Inada continued, “The next phase must still focus on keeping our identities hidden. Otherwise, we will face nationwide retaliation from the U.S.—a catastrophic consequence!”

Inada paused, then continued, “In the next few days, we will continue hypnotizing Daniel. Then we will instruct him to tell his women to transfer the foundation’s funds to our Swiss bank account. His women obey him completely, so they will definitely follow through. At that point, our people will start demanding an audit of the foundation’s finances, and that will be when he is disgraced and ruined.”

Inada took a breath and continued proudly, “Once the funds reach the Swiss bank, we will immediately transfer them. According to Swiss law, they will refuse any organization or individual from auditing the accounts. Without the money, and with our people stirring things up, will those big shots still believe in him? At that point, he will be disgraced and penniless, and his women will naturally leave him. Then you all will have your chance—whoever wants his women can make them yours!”

“Haha!” The men laughed wildly.

Mu Lin’s heart filled with murderous intent. If he had been an ordinary man, according to their plan, he would soon be ruined and easily captured by the Black Dragon. His women would also be doomed.

These men probably hadn’t expected to run into an immovable object this time. Thinking about how they dared to covet his women, for the first time, Mu Lin felt a surge of killing intent.
