Chapter 102: Space

“Oh no! Master! What’s wrong with you? You’re not having a stroke, are you?” The little creature spoke in a sweet, affected tone, almost making Mu Lin furious enough to die halfway. Mu Lin turned his head away, not wanting to look at it.

“Master! I’m not that scary, am I? Others always praise me for being pretty and lovely. How come you won’t even look at me? You’re really hurting my self-esteem. Don’t you know how to appreciate beauty at all?” This time, it sounded more petulant.

Mu Lin thought to himself, “Alright already, oh great lady! You’re an ancient demon that’s been alive for centuries. This overly affectionate tone of yours is unbearable! I’m only a teenager, what chance do I have playing around with you? Guess I’m still too inexperienced.”

But of course, he couldn’t dare say this aloud in front of the little creature; otherwise, who knew what mischief it might cause!

“For crying out loud! Can’t you speak in another tone? I can’t take it anymore!” After all, Mu Lin was still young and impulsive, unable to bear the creature’s chatter.

“Oh my… Already can’t take it? Should I go find some hostesses from the club outside for you?” This time, the little creature twisted its voice into a coquettish tone that made Mu Lin’s scalp tingle. He immediately jumped up and roared:

“Little rascal! If you dare speak in that disgusting tone again, don’t blame me for sending you to meet your master right now!”

“Oh my! Already losing your temper that fast? You’re still such a young man! I’m wondering how you’ve managed to survive in this profit-driven society!” This time, the little creature reverted to its original elegant and enchanting mezzo-soprano.

“That’s none of your business! Go somewhere cool and stay there! I definitely don’t want to have anything more to do with you!” Mu Lin impatiently waved his hand at the creature, hoping to distance himself from it as soon as possible.

“Oh my! Master, you just said it a moment ago, and now you’re already denying it?” The little creature continued teasing him.

“What did I say? When have I ever gone back on my word?” Mu Lin stood up, clearly annoyed.

“Just now! You said you’d take me under your wing and have me follow you!” The creature still spoke at its leisurely pace. From the looks of it, it had the temperament of a mischievous servant.

“Did I? When did I say that? I don’t remember!” Mu Lin deliberately pretended to be confused, clearly intending to renege.

“Oh, dear master! It doesn’t matter if you forget? Don’t I still remember? Don’t forget what I am. From now on, I’m your personal pet. How can I follow you if I can’t even handle such a small matter? Master, please listen carefully.”

Listening to the little creature’s soft and pleasant voice, Mu Lin watched as it slowly pulled out a small tape recorder. Soon, the room echoed with their previous conversation.

Hearing the embarrassing conversation again, Mu Lin’s scalp tingled once more. He couldn’t figure out how the creature had managed to get this tiny recorder after he had already searched through all its storage bags. Thinking about this, he couldn’t help but examine the creature again. It seemed this thing, known as an ancient divine beast, indeed had its unique qualities.

“Oh my! Master! How can you look at me like that? You’re making me feel shy!” Seeing Mu Lin staring at it continuously, the creature spoke. Although it claimed to feel shy, Mu Lin didn’t see any sign of embarrassment on its face.

“This fellow! Could it be that I really have to get rid of it? But it’s only a bit cheeky, not actually doing anything evil,” Mu Lin pondered internally.

“Master! Do you believe that even if you use your special abilities, I can still find a way to escape?” The little creature said confidently.

Seeing the creature’s expression, Mu Lin couldn’t help but smile. No wonder it had survived for centuries; it even knew how to play psychological warfare.

Looking at this creature, Mu Lin realized that it was definitely going to follow him, especially since it had already targeted his floating stone. If he couldn’t defeat it and earn its respect this time, even if it followed him, it wouldn’t truly help him wholeheartedly. Mu Lin knew that in nature, the winner was always the one respected. Without strong power as a foundation, these creatures would never truly submit to him.

Thinking thus, Mu Lin looked at the little creature carefully again.

The creature, feeling uneasy under Mu Lin’s gaze, said, “Master, why are you looking at me like that again? It’s making me feel scared!”

“You just said that even if I used all my abilities, you could still find a way to escape, right? Well, I don’t believe it. I want to test it out with you!” Mu Lin looked directly at the creature and slowly said these words.

Seeing Mu Lin’s serious expression, the little creature felt uneasy inside. It had just boasted so confidently, leaving no room for retreat. But this fellow, after all, was an old hand who had survived for centuries. It knew that since Mu Lin dared to speak like this, he must have his own confidence. Immediately, it dropped its act and began to flatter:

“Hehe! Master, I just slipped up a bit, you know? Haha! Please forgive my rudeness! I know that you, Master, are a brilliant and extraordinary person. How could I possibly be your match?”

Hearing these flatteries, Mu Lin felt a bit suffocated inside. He didn’t know whether a human could be this shameless, but this creature wasn’t human, so he couldn’t judge it by human standards.

Since it had already backed down, he couldn’t keep threatening it anymore. He turned his head away, unwilling to see its fawning face. But then he suddenly remembered something:

“Hey! I said, little rascal! Didn’t I already search through your storage bag? Where did you get that recorder? With your tiny body, everything is clearly visible. Don’t tell me you hid it in your pocket?”

“Hehe! Master! Can’t I have a little personal privacy?” the little creature whispered.

“What? You want to keep some personal privacy? Fine! You can think about it. If you want to keep your privacy, I completely agree! But then we’ll go our separate ways. You take your narrow bridge, I take my broad road. We’ll be even!”

Mu Lin knew that if he couldn’t completely subdue this little rascal this time, he would have headaches for a long time to come. If he couldn’t subdue it, he might as well take this opportunity to cut ties with this little rascal. Therefore, he seized the moment to threaten it, hoping to fully uncover Feifei’s secrets.

“Hmm…” The little creature hesitated.

Mu Lin closed his eyes and didn’t even look at it.

“Master! Alright then! I’ll tell you, but this secret is a matter of life and death for me. I hope you can promise to protect me after hearing it! Otherwise, I’d rather die than speak!” The little creature said through gritted teeth.

Mu Lin didn’t even show the slightest expression of surprise, appearing completely indifferent, as if to say, “Say it if you want, it’s your choice.” The room fell silent for a moment.

Seeing Mu Lin’s reaction, the little creature finally couldn’t hold back any longer and adopted a resigned attitude: “Alright then, Master! I’ll tell you. Besides my master’s storage bag, I have another storage space identical to it!”
