Chapter 65: The Indestructible Ointment (3)

X13 had been hiding in the corner, diligently repairing itself with a bitter expression. Just as it finished fixing its anti-gravity device, it heard Hun Yuanzi’s shout. Immediately, it extended its mechanical arm, grabbed a welding knife, and charged fiercely toward Yang Hao.

Yang Hao nearly jumped out of his skin: “What do you think you’re doing?! Why are you pointing a knife at me?! Don’t you know the Three Laws of Robotics?! I’m your master, hey!!”

But X13 simply ignored the so-called Three Laws of Robotics. To begin with, Amanda’s robots had never been programmed with those outdated principles. Now that it had the chance, X13 was ready to settle the score. Just moments ago, Yang Hao had poked it several times, and now it was time for revenge. As soon as it reached Yang Hao, it slashed at his arm with the welding knife several times in quick succession.

Strangely enough, although the welding knife wasn’t a particularly deadly weapon, it was still quite sharp—sharp enough to cut a person. Yet when it struck Yang Hao’s arm, it was as if it had hit iron. Not only did the blade fail to penetrate, but sparks flew as if two pieces of metal were clashing together.

“Hey! This is pretty good stuff!” Yang Hao was delighted. So the ointment really made him impervious to blades and bullets. He snatched the welding knife from X13 and swung it even harder against his own arm. Logically, this should have been extremely painful, yet his arm remained numb, completely unaffected.

“So does that mean I’m now invincible?” Yang Hao grinned from ear to ear.

“As long as no one uses a sword infused with true energy against you, you should be fine,” Hun Yuanzi replied hesitantly, as if holding something back.

“What do I have to fear then?” Yang Hao remained excited.

“…”

Finally noticing Hun Yuanzi’s hesitant expression, Yang Hao snapped, “Spit it out already! Say what you want to say!”

“Well, after applying this ointment, there’s also a side effect,” Hun Yuanzi said slowly.

“What side effect?”

“Because the ointment increases blood flow, although you won’t feel pain while it’s numbing you with cold, once its effect wears off, the pain will intensify….” Hun Yuanzi finally let it all out at once, “In other words, you might not feel pain now, but once the numbing effect fades, you’ll experience double the pain—excruciating pain.”

“What?!?!” Yang Hao was utterly devastated. “Are you saying that the pain from those cuts I just took will come back later?”

Hun Yuanzi nodded, clearly feeling guilty: “Not only will it hurt, but considering how hard you hit yourself, you might even have a fracture. This ointment only numbs the sensation of injury temporarily…”

With a loud clang, Yang Hao had already collapsed unconscious. Whether it was voluntary or not, one could only guess—but perhaps, in his unconscious state, he might avoid some of the agony once the ointment’s effects wore off.

Yang Hao had initially been quite worried about the aphrodisiac duel. However, ever since he had created the Ice Muscle Iron Skin Ointment, he had begun to look forward to it, eager to crush Li Bo and his group.

But life rarely goes as planned. This duel, which Yang Hao had so thoroughly prepared for, now felt like a trap waiting to swallow him whole.

The Ling Fei Star Sea remained as dazzling and bustling as ever, yet today the Diamond Room was not hosting its usual bidding events. All the VIPs had gathered together to witness a single event.

A famous interstellar aphrodisiac chain store, “Million Thrills,” was about to engage in a final showdown with the newly rising Dan Ding Aphrodisiac Pharmacy in town. On the surface, it seemed like a battle between a giant and a tiny insect. But those in the know understood that this was, in fact, a life-or-death duel—especially for Yang Hao. If he lost, it wouldn’t just cost him a shop; he would no longer have a place to stand on Remon Star.

Once a man loses everything, even if he were killed by a traveling merchant, few would pay attention.

Therefore, Yang Hao had no retreat. Having already offended Li Bo, winning was his only path to survival. Dozens of media camera robots followed him relentlessly, probably eager to capture how this young man would meet his downfall.

“I thought you might run away,” Li Bo said arrogantly, his head held high. The eight swordsmen who had previously accompanied him were gone, replaced by a middle-aged swordsman serving as his bodyguard.

This swordsman was burly and solid like an iron tower, dressed in finely tailored noble Imperial attire, with a golden sword at his waist.

Noticing Yang Hao’s gaze lingering on the swordsman, Li Bo introduced him immediately: “This is Mr. Kind, the deputy commander of the Royal Swordsman Corps stationed on Remon Star. I specially invited him to attend this occasion.”

Yang Hao’s heart sank. Wasn’t Kind’s swordsman corps the same one led by Wang Tao, the older brother of Wang Zhijun? It seemed Kind’s strength was not much less than Wang Tao’s. His expression was grim, and he cast a cold glare at Yang Hao—clearly someone Li Bo had specially invited to cause trouble.

“This Kind guy is no easy opponent. His combat power is at least level six—he could probably go toe-to-toe with you,” Hun Yuanzi said, whether trying to reassure or scare Yang Hao, it was unclear. “But in an actual fight, his sword techniques might be superior to yours.”

“That’s just because you didn’t teach me well!” Yang Hao shot back, leaving Hun Yuanzi speechless.

“Boss Yang…” Ni Ziyan approached with a swaying gait.

Ni Ziyan was still as dazzling and enchanting as ever, captivating men’s gazes like glue they couldn’t shake off. But Yang Hao now knew the truth—this woman was no angel. Though she had always appeared polite and respectful toward him, in reality, she had secretly helped Li Bo harm him.

“You’d better stay back,” Yang Hao made a show of readying his sword. “Stay where you are. Let’s start the duel quickly and get this over with.”

Ni Ziyan, who had probably never been treated this way before, flashed a cold glare at Yang Hao, her voice low and threatening: “You’re quite capable. You even stole my top girl.”

“Shi Mingyuan would never help you entertain clients. What kind of top girl is that?” Yang Hao finally saw Ni Ziyan’s true colors.

“That’s true. That’s exactly why I didn’t care at all when she wanted to buy her freedom,” Ni Ziyan gritted her teeth. “But after she bought her freedom, she told me she already had someone she loved—you had already dismantled the electric defense on Shi Mingyuan.”

“That’s just because you’re stupid!” Yang Hao bluntly replied. “Whose fault is that? If you have any tricks, go ahead and use them.”

Yang Hao tightly gripped the newly refined ointment in his pocket, hoping to show everyone present the power of his miraculous medicine.

But Ni Ziyan sneered coldly: “Don’t get too cocky. If you survive today’s duel, fine. But if you lose, Kind will definitely kill you. He wasn’t invited by Li Bo—he was hired by me, to teach you a lesson. Ling Fei Star Sea isn’t so easily toyed with.”

“HoHo, do I look like I’m going to lose?” Yang Hao said casually.

Ni Ziyan smirked: “Today’s duel will consist of only one round. In Ling Fei Star Sea, there is a guest. If Boss Yang can heal him, you win.”
