Chapter 48: The Super Spring Courtyard (1)

In an instant, those few swords underwent tremendous changes. Amidst the dazzling lights, their blades began to crack and flake away, layer by layer, until the steel shattered into powder. The five swords gradually shrank in midair, until each was no longer than two palms. Previously, each had been about a meter long, but in the blink of an eye, they had condensed into short blades. Their colors changed as well—one turned red, with flames flickering along its edge; another became blue, surrounded by a chilling aura. Of the remaining three, one gleamed golden, another silver, and the most astonishing one began to turn transparent.

“It worked!!!” Hun Yuanzi shouted joyfully.

At that moment, Yang Hao also sensed something unusual. The five flying swords had completely broken free from the control of his inner energy and now responded directly to his thoughts. As long as he willed them to fly somewhere, they would strike instantly.

“My flying swords…” Yang Hao felt a strange emotion stir inside him. Though he had been unwilling to join the cultivation sect, seeing the results of his efforts today was truly something worth celebrating.

Yet, while he was pleased, his danger had not passed. The strange sight had momentarily stunned the eight attackers, but as Yang Hao completed his sword cultivation, they quickly regained their senses and drove the sixteen flying blades even more fiercely toward him.

However, now that Yang Hao had completed the forging of his five swords, the situation quickly turned. He immediately noticed the vast difference between flying swords and the art of object manipulation. Previously, he had to control objects through inner energy, much like pulling strings on a puppet—clumsy and indirect. But now, his swords were extensions of his mind. With just a thought, the swords could strike directly.

Though he was outnumbered eight to one, Yang Hao had completely turned the tide. His five uniquely-featured swords, for the first time, showed their might. They engaged the sixteen blades in fierce combat, not yielding an inch.

“Now, it’s time to show them what we’re made of,” Hun Yuanzi said proudly. “Apprentice, swallow three more Power-Enhancing Pills, and today I’ll teach you a sword technique.”

“A sword technique?” Yang Hao quickly took the pills. Once the energy within him surged again, Hun Yuanzi calmly began explaining the secret of the technique.

Indeed, learning under pressure proved effective. Yang Hao fought while absorbing the teachings and quickly grasped the essence. Following Hun Yuanzi’s instructions, he channeled his inner energy into the swords, then formed a sword seal with both hands and roared at the top of his lungs: “Purple Qi from the East!!!”

The five swords bloomed like clouds, spinning rapidly in midair before shooting out in five different directions. A divine purple aura shimmered across their blades, and in the air, they exploded like bombs, completely shattering the sixteen flying blades.

The eight blade-wielders could no longer control their weapons. Helplessly, they watched as the swords sliced their curved blades into metallic dust. The eight men stood frozen, at a complete loss.

Li Bo was furious. He had been certain of victory, coming here only to kill Yang Hao. He never expected that Yang Hao would suddenly turn the tables, transforming defeat into triumph. How could Li Bo, who had been so confident of success, possibly accept this?

“Damn it! Idiots! Get in there and grab him! Kill him!” Li Bo shouted, waving his arms furiously.

The eight blade-wielders finally snapped out of their shock. Though they had lost their weapons, they were still expert hand-to-hand fighters, and with eight of them, they boldly charged forward, ready to fight Yang Hao barehanded.

Yang Hao had already won without needing weapons before, so naturally, he wasn’t afraid now. Without even needing guidance from Hun Yuanzi, he cleverly released red inner energy from his palms.

This was no ordinary energy. The Qi of the Elixir Sect not only injured opponents but also carried strong aphrodisiac properties. All the effects of the Power-Enhancing Pills he had taken earlier were now concentrated in this energy. After releasing it, Yang Hao twisted his body and leapt away.

He grinned as he watched the eight men inhale the aphrodisiac-laced Qi. Their bodies quickly heated up, their faces flushed red, and in front of the crowd, they began tearing off their clothes, acting inappropriately in increasingly indecent ways.

At this point, Li Bo had completely failed. He could only watch helplessly as his men lost all sense of self, no matter how loudly he shouted, they no longer obeyed.

“Now you understand—what I, Yang Hao, make is truly divine medicine!!” Yang Hao proudly pointed at the writhing eight blade-wielders and declared to Li Bo.

The onlookers erupted into cheers. They didn’t understand battles or cultivation techniques, but they saw Yang Hao had given the eight men aphrodisiacs, causing them to lose control and act lewdly. Their admiration for Yang Hao’s “miracle medicine” only deepened.

Li Bo trembled with rage. Today, he had truly lost more than he gained—not only had he failed to harm Yang Hao, but he had also increased the public’s trust in Yang’s products. But Li Bo was a seasoned merchant, used to weathering storms. Slowly, his expression returned to its usual calm. “Impressive. Truly worthy of someone who has defeated a Black Beast.”

“Just average,” Yang Hao replied with a smirk, no longer showing Li Bo any respect. “After all, beating up your underlings isn’t that hard.”

“If that’s the case, then we’ll see what happens next time,” Li Bo adjusted his glasses. “But next time, it won’t be weaklings with only second-tier combat power.”

“Do you have more underlings?” Yang Hao, emboldened by his victory, became even more arrogant. “Then be sure to bring real experts next time. Otherwise, it’ll just be another embarrassment.”

“The Royal Swordsmen are stationed on the planet Laimen,” Li Bo said coldly, his eyes flashing with menace. “I happen to be on good terms with their captain, Wang Tao. Next time, I’ll invite his swordsmen. Every ordinary swordsman under him is at least sixth-tier combat power. I hope you still have the ability to defeat them!”

This time, Li Bo was truly serious. The Swordsmen Corps didn’t usually work for merchants and were part of the military. It would take a heavy price to hire them. But to save face, Li Bo was ready to spend big.

Yang Hao’s expression changed. If it were anyone else, he wouldn’t have worried. But the mention of Wang Tao hit a sore spot. Not long ago, it was Wang Tao who had stood up for Wang Zhijun and caused Yang Hao to be expelled from school. Remembering how Wang Tao had once slashed at a statue with a sky-shaking sword strike, Yang Hao knew that such a heavenly sword technique would be hard to match even after years of practice—let alone now.

Though Yang Hao inwardly groaned, he couldn’t show it on his face. He knew Li Bo was skilled at reading people. If this merchant sensed his fear, he might bring Wang Tao to face him as early as tomorrow.
