Chapter 700: My Heart is Made of Glass

“Damn it!” Jie burned with rage, watching Lin Fan leave. “Feng Qingzi, you will regret this.”

Feng Qingzi was someone even Jie feared a little. Moreover, there was an agreement between the Ancient Clan and Feng Qingzi to not interfere with each other. However, both sides understood that this was merely a temporary strategy to pacify the enemy.

“Senior, you’re incredible. I never imagined even a Supreme would fear you,” said Venerable Sakyamuni, astonished.

He had never seen any living being dare to be so defiant before a Supreme of the Ancient Clan.

“Of course, kid. Isn’t it a great honor to have me as your master?” Feng Qingzi said with a smile, looking at the gloomy Lin Fan.

“Old man, don’t brag. I’m only in a bad mood because you forced me,” Lin Fan muttered, feeling that his recent luck had been terrible.

To be outsmarted by an old man was indeed a tragedy.

“Oh, forced you? I never force anyone. Well then, I’ll just throw you down now. Given Jie’s strength, finding you again will be effortless,” Feng Qingzi said and moved as if he were really going to throw Lin Fan down.

“What are you doing? Old man, don’t touch me. I’m just being respectful to elders, but don’t think I’m afraid of you,” Lin Fan couldn’t bear to go down. If he did, it would surely be a death sentence.

Even so, he couldn’t afford to lose face. Seeing the old man’s gloating expression, Lin Fan felt increasingly annoyed.

“Fine, fine. I’ll give up on taking you as my disciple. You can leave now, and I won’t stop you,” Feng Qingzi stopped and gestured for Lin Fan to leave immediately.

Lin Fan looked at the old man and then at the distance, where Jie still stood, staring at them with his sinister eyes.

Gulu!

Lin Fan couldn’t help but feel nervous. If he went down, he would certainly die. But he couldn’t afford to lose face either.

“So what? I’m not afraid of anything. Do you think I’d fear a Supreme?”

“Fine, I’ll see you off,” Feng Qingzi said calmly, showing no sign of reluctance.

“I’m really leaving now. Don’t you dare change your mind,” Lin Fan hesitated, glancing back every step.

“I never go back on my word,” Feng Qingzi said, stroking his beard.

At this moment, Lin Fan felt tricked. He wanted to leave but couldn’t. If he did, he would be dead in an instant.

Watching this scene, Venerable Sakyamuni sighed helplessly.

Evil people must be subdued by even eviler ones. Indeed, experience counts, and so do big chests.

Of course, this sentence needs a slight revision: “Indeed, my own chest is big enough.”

“What? Can’t bear to leave?” Feng Qingzi smiled slightly, as if he had already figured Lin Fan out.

“Who said I can’t bear to leave? I’m just taking a breath of fresh air,” Lin Fan felt like crying. Why did he have to be so stubborn earlier? Now he had no way to save face.

“Damn it!” Jie’s anger burned fiercely as he watched Lin Fan disappear into the distance. “Feng Qingzi, you’ll regret this.”

Jie also harbored some fear towards Feng Qingzi. The ancient clan had made a pact with Feng Qingzi to not interfere with each other, but both sides knew it was merely a stalling tactic.

“Senior, you’re truly formidable. I never imagined even the Supreme would fear you?” The Venerable Sakyamuni exclaimed in astonishment.

He had never seen any being stand so boldly before the Supreme of the ancient clan.

“Naturally, young man. Don’t you feel honored to have me as your master?” Feng Qingzi looked at the sullen Lin Fan and laughed.

“Old man, stop bragging. I was forced into this,” Lin Fan felt his recent streak of bad luck was unending.

To be outsmarted by an old man was truly a tragedy.

“Oh, forced? I never engage in such coercion. Fine, I’ll throw you down now. With Jie’s strength, finding you would be the blink of an eye,” Feng Qingzi said, making a move as if he really intended to throw Lin Fan down.

“What are you doing? Old man, keep your hands to yourself. I’m just respecting my elders and not bullying an old man. Don’t think I’m actually scared of you,” Lin Fan couldn’t afford to go down; it would mean certain death.

Even so, he couldn’t lose face. Seeing the old man’s gleeful expression made Lin Fan’s heart boil with anger.

“Alright, alright, I’m scared of you, okay? I won’t take you as my disciple anymore. You can leave now, I won’t stop you,” Feng Qingzi stopped and signaled that Lin Fan could leave at any time.

Lin Fan looked at the old man and then into the distance, where Jie still stood, his evil eyes fixed on them.

Gulp!

Lin Fan couldn’t help but feel nervous. Going down would mean certain death, but how could he lose face?

“I’ll go then. I fear nothing, not even the Supreme.”

“Good, I’ll see you off,” Feng Qingzi said indifferently, without a hint of reluctance.

“I’m really leaving now, don’t regret it,” Lin Fan hesitated, looking back every few steps.

“I never regret,” Feng Qingzi stroked his beard and said.

Lin Fan felt like he was being played. The situation was such that he wanted to leave but couldn’t. If he left, he’d be dead the next second.

The Venerable Sakyamuni sighed at the scene before him.

Evil needs evil to tame it; experience trumps youth, and a woman’s chest is always larger.

Of course, that last part needs to be revised; my chest is larger.

“What? Can’t bear to leave?” Feng Qingzi smiled lightly at Lin Fan, as if he had him completely figured out.

“Who says I can’t bear to leave? I’m just taking a breath of air,” Lin Fan felt like crying. Why did he have to act tough earlier? Now there was no way out.

And this old man didn’t follow the script at all; it was really hurtful.

At this moment, the Venerable Sakyamuni felt it was time for him to intervene.

“Master Lin, see how much Senior wishes to take you as his disciple. Many prodigies wish to be his disciple but can’t. How about giving me some face and let’s leave this matter here and depart from this place,” the Venerable Sakyamuni suggested.

Hearing this, Lin Fan glanced at the bald monk, realizing his mind was getting sharper. Leaving now and planning later seemed like a good idea.

“Fine, I’ll give the bald monk some face today,” Lin Fan waved his hand, reluctantly finding a way out for himself.

But what Feng Qingzi said next made Lin Fan’s heart boil with defiance.

“I never force anyone. If you don’t want to be my disciple, I have no reason to save you. I certainly won’t make an enemy of the Supreme of the ancient clan for a stranger,” Feng Qingzi’s tone suddenly turned serious.

The atmosphere instantly became tense.

“Senior…” The Venerable Sakyamuni suddenly realized things had taken a different turn.

Lin Fan, however, put away his smile and without hesitation, jumped down from the void.

“Hmph, I, Lin Fan, stand tall and unyielding. I never succumb to threats. So what if I die? What can the Supreme of the ancient clan do? Would I really grovel to others just to live?” Lin Fan, though usually playful and cunning, would never compromise his dignity for survival.

“This kid…” Feng Qingzi, seeing Lin Fan’s stubbornness, was also infuriated.

“Master Lin, what are you doing?” The Venerable Sakyamuni, seeing this, also panicked.

The Supreme of the ancient clan, seeing the human emerge from the void, sneered and instantly appeared before Lin Fan.

“Despicable human, who will save you now?” Supreme Jie, never expecting the human to come seeking death, didn’t hesitate and reached out to grab Lin Fan.

This move was like capturing the heavens and earth, sealing all escape routes.

“So strong,” Lin Fan, witnessing this, was shocked but showed no fear.

“Senior, alas…” The Venerable Sakyamuni glanced at Feng Qingzi and sighed, then also jumped down, “Master, I’ll lend you a hand.”

“Bald monk, what are you doing here?” Lin Fan, seeing the monk risking his life to join him, was deeply moved.

“Master, you’re willing to fight the Supreme of the ancient clan without fear of death. Do you think I’m a coward?” The Venerable Sakyamuni said.

“Haha, good, let’s see just how strong the Supreme of the ancient clan is.”

Feng Qingzi, watching these two, frowned, his white beard fluttering in anger.

“Stubborn brat, truly stubborn. I’ve roamed the ages, never bowing to anyone. But fine, the more I look at you, the more I like you. If you don’t succeed, I’ll have to slap you to death.”

Without hesitation, Feng Qingzi acted. Jie’s strength, though not the strongest among the Supreme of the ancient clan, was still beyond what these two could handle.

Lin Fan, seeing the descending palm, felt a chill in his heart. The overwhelming power was unstoppable; this strike alone could crush them.

Boom!

In an instant, Feng Qingzi appeared before Lin Fan, flicking his sleeve to dissipate the force of the strike.

“Jie, what do you think you’re doing?” Feng Qingzi roared, “My disciple came down to relieve himself, and you dare to attack? Do you really think I won’t kill you?”

“Feng Qingzi, you wait,” Jie said coldly, then with a resentful glance at Lin Fan, he left completely.

“Old man, who asked you to save me?” Lin Fan felt a sudden relief; he wasn’t going to die after all.

“Kid, I admit defeat. I apologize to you,” Feng Qingzi sighed deeply. This kid was just too damn stubborn; even in his youth, he wasn’t this obstinate.

Surviving till now was nothing short of a miracle.

Lin Fan looked at Feng Qingzi, wondering if the old man had taken the wrong medicine, being so kind to him. But hearts are made of flesh; having such a protective master wasn’t so bad.

“Fine, considering you’re not getting any younger, any more excitement might be too much for your heart. Since you’re so eager to have me as your disciple, I’ll reluctantly agree.”

“Disciple Lin Fan, pays respects to Master.”

“Haha… good, good,” Feng Qingzi laughed heartily, his mood seemingly much lighter.

“Disciple, my storage ring…”

“What? Storage ring? Gone. You’ve deeply hurt your disciple’s heart. My heart is like glass, easily shattered. To make amends, you must use this storage ring to soothe it, or I might just die of sorrow,” Lin Fan thought, once something was in his hands, there was no way he was giving it back.

“I…” Feng Qingzi, hearing this, clutched his chest as if he couldn’t catch his breath.

Damn it, in all the world, there’s no such shameless disciple.

At this moment, Venerable Sakyamuni felt it was time for him to intervene.

“Master Lin, look how much Senior wants to take you as a disciple. Many geniuses would love to have such an opportunity. For my sake, let’s just forget about this and leave this place first,” Sakyamuni suggested.

Hearing this, Lin Fan suddenly looked at the monk and found that his mind was getting sharper. Leaving first and discussing further plans later was indeed a good idea.

“Alright, I’ll do this for the monk’s sake today,” Lin Fan waved his hand, trying to find an excuse to save face.

However, Feng Qingzi’s following words made Lin Fan feel resentful.

“I never force anyone. If you don’t want to take me as your master, that’s fine. I won’t save someone I don’t know, nor will I make enemies with the Ancient Clan Supreme for a stranger.” Suddenly, Feng Qingzi’s tone became serious.

Instantly, the atmosphere on the scene turned oppressive.

“Senior…” Venerable Sakyamuni suddenly realized the situation was changing.

Lin Fan, at this moment, put away his smile and jumped down from the void without hesitation.

“Hmph, I, Lin Fan, have always stood tall and proud. I’d rather die than be threatened. What’s so great about the Ancient Clan Supreme? Do you think I, Lin Fan, would bow down just to save my life? Jie, if you have the guts, come and fight. Today, either I win or I die.”

Lin Fan had always been proud. Although he often joked around and schemed behind people’s backs, he would never compromise his principles to save his life.

“This kid…” Feng Qingzi saw the boy’s stubbornness and couldn’t help but feel angry.

“Master Lin, what are you doing?” Venerable Sakyamuni was alarmed by this scene.

Seeing the human stepping out of the void, the Ancient Clan Supreme sneered coldly and instantly appeared in front of Lin Fan.

“Damn human, let’s see who can save you now.” Supreme Jie hadn’t expected the human to come willingly to his death. Without hesitation, he reached out his hand toward Lin Fan.

This palm move seemed to seize the heavens and earth, sealing all escape routes.

“So powerful.” Lin Fan was shocked by what he saw, but showed no fear.

“Senior…” Venerable Sakyamuni looked at Feng Qingzi and sighed, then jumped down as well. “Master, let me help you.”

“What are you doing here, monk?” Seeing the monk come down without fearing death, Lin Fan was deeply moved.

“If you can fearlessly fight against the Ancient Clan Supreme, how can I, a monk, be a coward?” Venerable Sakyamuni said.

“Haha, good. Let’s see how strong the Ancient Clan Supreme really is.”

Feng Qingzi watched these two with a frown, his white beard trembling with anger.

“Damn kid, damn kid. I’ve roamed through countless ages, never bowing to anyone. But fine, who asked me to grow fond of you? If you don’t become someone great, I’ll personally kill you with one palm.”

Without hesitation, Feng Qingzi moved forward. Although Jie wasn’t the strongest among the Ancient Clan Supremes, he was still far beyond what these two could handle.

Lin Fan looked at the descending palm, his heart trembling. The immense power was simply unstoppable. One strike might be enough to kill them.

Boom!

In an instant, Feng Qingzi suddenly appeared in front of Lin Fan, flicked his sleeve, and shattered the entire palm force.

“Jie, what do you think you’re doing?” Feng Qingzi roared. “You dare to attack my disciple while he’s just coming down to take a piss? Do you really think I won’t kill you?”

“Feng Qingzi, you just wait,” Jie coldly replied. He shot Lin Fan a hateful look before finally leaving.

“Old man, who told you to save me?” Lin Fan finally relaxed, relieved that he wouldn’t die after all.

“Kid, I have to admit defeat. I apologize to you,” Feng Qingzi sighed. This kid was just too damn stubborn. Even in his youth, he hadn’t been this stubborn. Surviving until now was indeed a miracle.

Lin Fan looked at Feng Qingzi. He didn’t know whether the old man had taken the wrong medicine or what, but treating him this well was touching. After all, people have hearts made of flesh. Having a master who defends his disciples no matter what wasn’t bad at all.

“Alright, considering your age, I can’t give you too much excitement, or your heart might not take it. Since you’re so eager to have me as your disciple, I’ll reluctantly agree.”

“Disciple Lin Fan pays respects to Master.”

“Haha… Good, good.” At this moment, Feng Qingzi burst into laughter, feeling much more cheerful.

“Disciple, I have this storage ring for you…”

“Storage ring? Forget it. You seriously hurt your disciple’s heart earlier. My heart is made of glass, easily shattered. To make up for it, I must keep this storage ring to calm myself down. Otherwise, I might die of sorrow,” Lin Fan said, unwilling to give up the item he had already obtained.

“Old man…” Hearing this, Feng Qingzi held his chest as if he were about to have a heart attack.

In the entire world, where could one find such a shameless disciple?
