Chapter 1099: How Devious

This time, Lin Fan didn’t plan to wipe them out completely. Letting one dragon return wasn’t a bad idea—it might even attract a whole group.

“Stop shouting, I’m embarrassed for you. You call yourself a dragon knight? Even your dragon has abandoned you. Why don’t you just change your name?” Lin Fan sighed, feeling pity for the man. It was truly a shame to lose a dragon like that. Anyone else would have been devastated.

“Olyria, you’re not worthy of being my comrade. From this day forth, I, the dragon knight Jace, will sever all ties with you as a partner,” Jace declared angrily, then clutched his chest as if deeply wounded.

Turning his gaze toward Lin Fan, Jace shouted, “I, the dragon knight Jace, will never fear a native like you. Die!”

“Dragon Knight Technique—Hurricane!”

Jace raised his spear high, then leapt into the air. A whirlwind surrounded him, and he charged toward Lin Fan like a tornado.

“I, the dragon knight Jace, am the mightiest, noblest, and bravest knight in the Moonshadow Continent. You, a mere native, may be powerful, but I will never fear you!” Jace roared, elevating his image to the heavens, as if no one else in the world could rival him.

Lin Fan blinked, wondering if this guy was mentally challenged.

The dragon knight unleashed his technique, surrounded by swirling whirlwinds.

Facing such an opponent, Lin Fan couldn’t even be bothered to swat him away. His power was too weak; killing him wouldn’t accomplish much. However, capturing and converting him might reveal more about the Moonshadow Continent—how many people had come here from there, and what their invasion plans were.

“Come here,” Lin Fan said, opening his mouth and reaching out toward the whirlwind.

Suddenly, Lin Fan sensed a ripple in space.

“I, the dragon knight Jace, will never fear you. But listen well—you wait for me. When I become stronger, I will return for revenge!”

Pah!

The whirlwind dissipated.

A scroll drifted down from the void.

Lin Fan grabbed it immediately.

“Ding! A used spatial teleportation scroll has been detected.”

Lin Fan tossed it away with disdain, glancing toward the distance. “What a despicable bastard.”

The Virtue and Vice Buddha Sect.

The Future Infinite Buddha King surveyed the heavens and earth, gazing into the distance. He opened his palm, where ten Buddha Kings sat cross-legged deep within. Each of these ten Buddha Kings was bound by chains of mysterious Buddhist energy, which flowed into the Future Infinite Buddha King’s body.

“The path of the Heavenly Sovereign is boundless, profound, and vast. How can one attain it through evil means? Master, you have fallen into darkness,” one of the Buddha Kings seated within the palm spoke.

The Future Infinite Buddha King clenched his five fingers, let out a cold snort, and immediately vanished into the void, heading toward the Sea of Death.

Golden light flickered.

The Future Infinite Buddha King appeared at the Sea of Death and stepped into it. Activating spatial teleportation, he was directly transported to the Moonshadow Continent.

A new continent, with landscapes different from those of the Endless Continent.

“Amitabha.”

Looking at the infinite living beings, the Future Infinite Buddha King softly chanted the holy name, unleashing boundless Buddhist light that seemed to cover the entire world.

But immediately after, the infinite light seemed to encounter some resistance and withdrew back into the Future Infinite Buddha King’s body.

Lin Fan stayed at the ruins of the Sword Qi Sect for many days, waiting for the enemy to arrive, but eventually lost interest and left.

How boring. So incredibly boring. Not even a single reinforcement came back.

The Heaven and Earth Sect.

After returning, Lin Fan directly went to meet the Sect Patriarch.

“Grandmaster, this time I encountered those outsiders. I fought against a fragment of the Death God’s avatar. I think the highest-level strength among the invaders should be the god sovereigns, equivalent to the Immortal King realm,” Lin Fan said.

Gengyang Tian already knew about these matters. “After you left, I visited several other sects, borrowed their ancient texts, and paid respects to several hermit Immortal Kings. I now know the truth. The Moonshadow Continent is where those invaders reside, located beyond the Sea of Death.”

Lin Fan nodded. “Grandmaster, why don’t we launch a preemptive strike and suppress them directly?”

That was exactly what he was thinking. Since they had come knocking, it would be better to attack first—perhaps even gain some advantage from it.

Gengyang Tian looked at Lin Fan and shook his head. “Impossible. Their power is too strong, and our sects are scattered. Without unity, we may not even be able to resist them.”

“I have already informed the other ten major sects. I believe they know what to do,” Gengyang Tian said.

Lin Fan had little hope for such a scenario. With people like this, unity was unlikely.

Especially the Kunlun Divine Sect—if they could unite, it would be a miracle.

“Amitabha.”

At that moment, a Buddhist chant echoed.

“The Virtue and Vice Buddha Sect.”

In the depths of the sect, space cracked open, and a figure stepped out.

Seeing this figure, Lin Fan was momentarily stunned. “It’s you…”

He hadn’t expected it to be the Future Infinite Buddha King. How could this guy have escaped?

Gengyang Tian frowned, showing signs of caution. He knew the old experts from the Virtue and Vice Buddha Sect, but this one…

“Grandmaster, be careful. This is the Future Infinite Buddha King. He once tricked me. I didn’t expect him to come out,” Lin Fan whispered.

Now Lin Fan realized this was only a divine consciousness projection of the Future Infinite Buddha King.

“Gengyang Tian, I have come only to say one thing: the matter of the Moonshadow Continent has nothing to do with the Heaven and Earth Sect. Afterward, there will be an opportunity for your sect,” the Future Infinite Buddha King declared.

“Bullshit! You bald bastard, how did you get out?” Lin Fan shouted furiously.

Seeing Lin Fan, the Future Infinite Buddha King displayed a calm and serene expression. “It is you, benefactor. Greetings to you.”

“Cut the crap! You treacherous bald bastard! Let me tell you, I’m involved in this matter. If they dare to come again, I’ll wipe them out every time!” Lin Fan ranted.

“And you, bald bastard, if you dare to come here in your true form, I’ll beat you so badly you won’t know what hit you. Believe me!” Lin Fan cursed.

“Benefactor, you are being reckless,” the Future Infinite Buddha King said coldly, about to strike, but then smiled calmly. “Benefactor, we shall meet again when fate allows.”

“Like hell you will! Think you can just leave?” Lin Fan roared, immediately pulling out a supreme Immortal Artifact and hurling it.

“Self-destruct!”

Gengyang Tian cried out in alarm. “Don’t—!”

Boom!

The depths of the sect violently trembled. “You brat, can’t you wait? This place is fragile—it can’t withstand the explosion of a supreme Immortal Artifact!”

“Amitabha.” The Future Infinite Buddha King remained expressionless, gave Lin Fan a deep look, and vanished into the void.

“At least you ran fast,” Lin Fan muttered angrily.

Gengyang Tian stared at the empty void where the figure had disappeared. “Be careful in the future. His cultivation is stronger than mine—he might even be an ancient Immortal King. Don’t underestimate him.”

Lin Fan nodded. He knew the Future Infinite Buddha King was powerful, but he wasn’t afraid. No matter what, the last chance to deal with that bastard would definitely be his. He just hoped he would get the opportunity soon.
