Chapter 38: The Perverse Supervisor

Xiao Yufan never expected that he and Lin Pingle would end up on the same floor. He couldn’t help but marvel at how deep their connection must be…

“Dude, you’re actually hooking up with our CEO? That’s so damn impressive! Hurry up and turn around so I can bow to you!” Lin Pingle exaggeratedly performed a dramatic bow across the aisle towards Xiao Yufan.

“Bow to your grandma! Just focus on work. I don’t want to mess up on the very first day,” Xiao Yufan retorted. If not for the aisle between them, his infamous shadow-kicking feet would’ve already paid Lin Pingle a visit. That smug grin of his was seriously asking for a punch.

After being sharply rebuked by Xiao Yufan, Lin Pingle grudgingly retracted his head. After all, he was also a new employee here and couldn’t afford to slack off.

Staring at the stack of program documents on his desk, Xiao Yufan felt a bit overwhelmed. This was his first time working such a formal job, and he was clearly struggling to adapt.

“You must be the new employee. I’m the supervisor here…” Just as Xiao Yufan was settling down, a figure suddenly appeared in front of him, nearly scaring him out of his chair. “Damn, this guy walks so silently, not even a sound!”

“I am new, but you don’t have to scare me like that. My poor heart can’t handle it!” Xiao Yufan noticed the white-collar uniform on the man before him and realized this must be the floor supervisor—an important figure indeed.

“How can a grown man be so timid? Don’t you agree?” A hand suddenly landed on Xiao Yufan’s shoulder. That was when he noticed the supervisor’s slightly effeminate mannerisms and peculiar behavior…

A chill ran down Xiao Yufan’s spine, and he nearly threw up. This supervisor must have some seriously strange tastes. Meanwhile, his coworkers were watching him with expressions of deep sympathy. Being targeted by someone like this definitely wasn’t a good omen.

“I think you need to review the company’s employee code of conduct. You haven’t even followed the basics…”

“Huh? Did I do something wrong?” Xiao Yufan might not like this person, but since he was the floor supervisor, he couldn’t just ignore him.

“In this company, only gray and black are allowed. And you clearly violated that rule!” The supervisor pointed at the accessory on Xiao Yufan’s shirt pocket, then used his pinky finger in an exaggerated gesture to remove it.

“I honestly didn’t notice that. Thanks for the supervisor’s guidance. May I ask for your honorable name?” Xiao Yufan shuddered involuntarily. This person was seriously creepy.

“Everyone here calls me Xiao Ai, and of course, you can too… Remember, from now on, no accessories of any color other than gray or black.”

Hearing the name, Xiao Yufan was speechless once again. Watching Xiao Ai walk away with a swaying behind, Xiao Yufan realized that this company was truly a melting pot of all kinds of characters.

“Xiao Ai is definitely one of the company’s oddities. Although his preferences might be a bit questionable, he’s definitely talented,” a whisper came from beside him. Xiao Yufan noticed Lin Pingle’s lips moving—he clearly knew a lot about the company.

Unwilling to dwell further on this strange supervisor, Xiao Yufan put the accessory away. He was certain this stupid rule had been set by Yu Yihan. Who knows how many more stories there were behind that cold woman?

Work at the company wasn’t particularly tiring, but Xiao Yufan had never sat still for an entire morning before. When he finally stood up after a busy morning, his body felt stiff and sore.

“Guess nothing is ever easy…” He let out a long sigh and stretched with a loud yawn, joints cracking.

“Brother Yufan, let’s grab lunch together! We can exchange some work experience,” Lin Pingle packed up and stood up. His expression turned mischievous as he mentioned “exchanging experience.”

“Alright then, let’s go. On my first day, I’d love to see what the company cafeteria has to offer!” Xiao Yufan patted his shoulder, and the two headed directly to the twelfth-floor staff cafeteria.

As they walked, Xiao Yufan quickly noticed that the news of his relationship with Yu Yihan had become the hot topic among employees, growing more exaggerated by the minute. Some even claimed the two were already living together—well, they weren’t exactly wrong…

“It’s probably just the novelty factor. After some time, people won’t be so nosy anymore,” Xiao Yufan wasn’t entirely indifferent, but he didn’t mind too much either. He figured things would take their natural course. At least he didn’t mind the chatter from his coworkers—he even felt a little anticipation mixed in…
