Chapter 357: Instant Kill with a Single Move

Under the cover of night, four shadowy figures moved like grim reapers toward the villa’s window. Inside, all was silent, seemingly going according to plan. Yet, high in a tree outside the villa, two observers sensed an ominous danger lurking in the air…

“Be careful…”

Finally, after several cold flashes erupted from within the villa, a light yet hoarse voice followed. Though faint, if Xiao Yufan had been present, he would have recognized it instantly.

However, the warning was in vain. As the cold flashes lit up, the four shadows staggered and collapsed without warning, their bodies lifeless on the ground. A chill ran down the spines of the two remaining outside. They were certain that even they would have struggled against those deadly beams. This assassination attempt had ended in failure.

“Quick, we must leave—he must have noticed us by now…”

The low voice spoke urgently. The other figure slowly regained her composure. As a top-tier assassin, this was the first time she had felt such bone-chilling dread. Compared to the person inside the villa, she felt utterly outmatched and powerless.

“Hurry up! I don’t want to end up staying here forever…”

Seeing the graceful figure hesitate, the man hissed in frustration before dashing off in another direction. He knew how terrifying the one inside the villa truly was, and without hesitation, he chose to flee. To remain meant only one thing—death.

“Stay…”

Just as the man had barely moved forward, a cold voice echoed from the villa. In an instant, a figure leapt out, moving so fast that the man’s heart turned to ice. The graceful silhouette still perched in the tree could only hold her breath in silence.

Under the moonlight, the figure emerging from the villa was clearly revealed—none other than Situ Yonghui, head of the Situ family and Xiao Yufan’s father.

“I told you to hide well. Perhaps I would have let you live. But why did you have to be so foolish as to run out? Do you really think you have any chance of survival before me? Should I call you naive or just plain stupid?”

Situ Yonghui gazed at the man with a mixture of amusement and disdain. In his hand, a sapphire-blue dagger shimmered with a deadly gleam. This blade, soaked in countless lives, now resembled the scythe of a reaper.

“Stay back! If you kill me, the Shadow Alliance will never let you go…”

As Situ Yonghui approached, the man stumbled, nearly losing his balance. Fear spread through him like wildfire. Facing this godlike figure, he found no courage to resist. The four lifeless bodies on the ground seemed to foreshadow his own fate.

“The Shadow Alliance? Hiding like ghosts in the dark… Listen well. It’s not that I don’t want to deal with them—it’s that they aren’t even worthy of my attention yet. But one day, everything will be repaid…”

A sinister smile curled Situ Yonghui’s lips. He looked at the man as though he were already dead. Mentioning the Shadow Alliance stirred a flicker of anger within him, though he quickly masked it. The icy glint in his eyes, however, only grew sharper.

“But you won’t live to see that day. After all, the dead don’t need to know much…”

Before the man could react, Situ Yonghui vanished from sight. A wave of cold dread surged from his very core. Even in his terror, he knew he had to fight back. As a top assassin of the Shadow Alliance, he refused to die without resistance.

But he quickly realized how futile it was. In the blink of an eye, a stream of crimson blood spilled from his lips. The gap in their strength was simply too vast.

“My men usually don’t kill insignificant pawns like you. But you’re lucky—besides those four useless ones, you’ll be the fifth to die!”

With a swift motion, the dagger sliced through the air. Before the man could utter another word, a thin line appeared across his throat. Not a drop of blood spilled. He collapsed—dead in one strike, an instant kill.

“Why are there always so many arrogant fools? I’ve grown tired of this life of bloodshed, but that doesn’t mean the Situ family can be trampled upon…”

Muttering softly, Situ Yonghui revealed a hint of weariness on his face. So many years had passed, yet there were still those who sought his life. Would he allow them to succeed? The answer was obvious.

He cast a subtle glance toward the tree outside the villa and a faint smile curved his lips before he turned and walked back into the mansion.

The graceful figure hidden in the tree stiffened, trembling slightly as Situ Yonghui’s gaze swept past her. She knew that if he had detected her presence, she would not leave this place alive.

This godlike man had now become a nightmare, slowly embedding himself into her mind. Was she truly capable of challenging such a man?

“It seems my master’s revenge won’t be easy to fulfill. Not now, not even years from now would I stand a chance against him…”

Her voice carried a hint of bitterness. Her brows furrowed slightly, her pale face partially hidden by the gentle breeze. At this moment, all she could feel was an endless chill. Just moments ago, she had narrowly escaped death itself.

Glancing down at the fallen assassin nearby, she felt no pity. After all, he was a killer who lived by the blade. And besides, his lustful intentions toward her alone warranted death a thousand times over.

Still shaken, she leapt away in another direction, moving with extreme caution, making not a sound. She knew the terrifying strength of that man—Black Wolf, a renowned killer in the underworld, had died by his hand. His power was beyond comprehension.

At the same time, Situ Yonghui, who had just returned to the villa, gazed in the direction she had fled, deep in thought. Moments later, a bitter smile surfaced on his lips. Though he had grown weary of this life, it didn’t mean he would allow the past to claim him.

“If it weren’t for him, you wouldn’t have been allowed to leave. Such a beautiful girl… truly a pity. This path was never meant for you.”

Situ Yonghui had, of course, known of her presence all along. He simply chose not to act. Not out of mercy, but because he understood that this woman would one day be inextricably linked to Xiao Yufan’s fate…
