Chapter 254: The Art of Killing

The two figures moved at an incredible speed, so fast that the human eye could barely track their movements. Yet to Tianxuan, they were no different from ordinary people…

A seductive curve curled at the corner of her lips. Her long, violet-tied tresses floated without wind, and in the next instant, she had already vanished from sight. This rose of the night was finally making her move.

The two assassins were the most astonished at this moment. They had not considered Tianxuan a threat initially, but now it seemed they had overlooked something crucial. This woman was definitely not as simple as she appeared.

“Is that even human speed…?”

Inside the sealed room, a solitary surveillance camera captured the scene. Lan Tianyuan watched Tianxuan’s movements on the monitor, his throat convulsing slightly as astonishment flickered across his face. Her speed was simply too overwhelming.

“If that’s the case, are you saying Tianxuan isn’t human? I’ll definitely go tell her, and see if she beats you up…”

Though she couldn’t fully comprehend what was happening, Lan Yue was still stunned by the dazzling display of skill. Yet this feeling of awe quickly faded, and she turned to Lan Tianyuan with a slightly reproachful look.

Slightly speechless, Lan Tianyuan realized arguing with this girl would get him nowhere. He simply shot Lan Yue an annoyed glance and redirected his focus to the monitor. His disgruntled expression only made Lan Yue giggle again.

On the screen, three figures continued to weave past each other. Lan Tianyuan’s heart pounded with each passing moment. He had placed all his hopes on Tianxuan. If those two managed to break in here, he knew he lacked the strength to face them.

Although the two black-cloaked assassins couldn’t land a decisive blow on Tianxuan, their attacks were sharp and unpredictable, often leaving her momentarily baffled. But would Tianxuan allow them the luxury of time to prolong this fight?

The answer was naturally no. As Tianxuan passed by the two once more, her delicate hand traced a strange arc through the air. In an instant, a dagger—like the scythe of Death itself—appeared in her palm.

The cold killing intent caused the two assassins to hesitate momentarily. They weren’t fearless, but they hadn’t expected this seemingly simple mission to be so perilous, with a formidable opponent emerging out of nowhere.

“Ahh…”

A sudden scream echoed through the room without warning. One of the assassins convulsed violently, letting out a cry of agony as blood streamed down his arm.

Tianxuan’s strike had been precise—enough to disable him without severing his arm. In that moment, her breathtaking beauty transformed into a fearsome visage of a battlefield goddess. The other assassin furrowed his brow, clearly unprepared for such a brutal display.

“If I weren’t concerned about staining this place with blood, you two wouldn’t even have the chance to stand here. Perhaps you should feel fortunate…”

Her voice, ghost-like and chilling, sent another shiver down their spines. This was no longer a fair fight, and the two of them had already begun to consider retreat. Even though they were killers, they had no desire to die.

“You good-for-nothing trash! What use am I keeping you around for? If you’re so afraid of death, let me help you on your way!”

Just as the two men began to retreat, another voice rang out. In the next instant, two streaks of light pierced through their backs, forcing them to kneel as blood gushed from their mouths. They trembled violently, clearly enduring immense pain.

Tianxuan, however, ignored the two fallen assassins and turned her gaze toward the door. Her expression turned amused. With these underlings eliminated, the real opponent would finally make his appearance. If her guess was correct, the one approaching now was the one who had disabled the cameras.

“I thought you’d stay hidden forever, but it seems you do have a bit of courage after all. But now that you’re here, don’t think you’ll be leaving!”

As the dark figure finally entered Tianxuan’s line of sight, a cold smile curled at the corner of her lips. He had no qualms about harming his own men—this one was the real deal, a killer who would stop at nothing to complete his mission.

“I didn’t expect someone of such strength to be guarding this place. I must admit, I’m quite surprised. But little girl, don’t be too confident…”

“Then by all means, try. Let’s see if you can walk out of here alive…”

Her smile was laced with amusement. Underestimating the strongest member of the Tian Group was a mistake that would cost him dearly. Some people were simply too arrogant.

The two stood locked in a tense standoff, neither making the first move. The groans of the two wounded assassins gradually faded until there was no sound at all. Even Tianxuan had to admit—this man was ruthless to the core, showing no mercy even to his own.

The man wasn’t foolish either. From Tianxuan, he could sense a faint but unmistakable aura of death. As someone who thrived in the shadows, he was intimately familiar with such a presence. Yet even he could feel something in Tianxuan that surpassed him.

Finally, he made the first move. Remaining in a stalemate would only benefit him less. He had to eliminate this woman first if he wanted to complete his mission.

“If your heart is already shaken, then you no longer have the qualifications to be an assassin!”

Tianxuan let out a cold snort, her gaze sharpening slightly as she tracked his movement. Though she was absolutely confident in her ability to defeat him, she remained vigilant. Underestimating an opponent in battle was the gravest of mistakes.

“You’ll find out soon enough whether I have the qualifications or not. As for you, just worry about yourself. I’ve never held back just because my opponent was a woman…”

The assassin, proud in his own right, was provoked by Tianxuan’s disdain. His attacks grew even fiercer, fueled by rising anger.

Tianxuan didn’t deny it—this man was far superior to the previous two. At the very least, he was worthy of her taking him seriously. But even then, he was only enough to earn her respect, for every master had his own pride.

Inside the room, the battle suddenly became a blur. Both fighters moved at an incredible pace, so fast that even with the video slowed down, Lan Tianyuan couldn’t track their movements. It wasn’t quite as exaggerated as the martial arts legends described, but it was still surreal.

As time passed, the assassin gradually found himself at a disadvantage. What frustrated him most was that Tianxuan hadn’t even attempted to kill him yet—she was merely defending. And yet, he still couldn’t find an opening.

“You lack even the artistry of killing. I feel pity for you as a fellow assassin. Since that’s the case, allow me to teach you what true killing art is…”

At one moment, Tianxuan suddenly stopped moving. Her alluring lips lightly brushed the dagger as her sharp gaze softened slightly. The assassin’s pupils widened in shock before he could even react.
