Chapter 363: A Restless Night

All the girls in the dormitory were scared away…

One girl possessed by an evil spirit was still manageable, after all, there were many people in the dorm. But when two girls were possessed, the situation became difficult, especially since the leading girl had practiced martial arts. Who could possibly defeat her?

The girls screamed in terror and fled.

The two possessed girls exchanged glances and rushed out of the dormitory together.

However, as soon as they reached the door, a surge of dark energy forced them back inside.

“Demons! How dare you! Do you want to be utterly destroyed?”

After the dark energy took the form of a human figure, it spoke in a human voice, threatening the evil spirits within the two girls.

“Hehehehe…”

One girl chuckled eerily, then squatted on the bed like a monkey, pointing at the dark figure with her fingers in a floral gesture. “Who do you think you are? Neither human nor demon—you think we’re afraid of you?”

“Afraid? If you’re not afraid, then why are you hiding?”

The dark figure snorted coldly, “A lowly monkey brat—after all, you’re still just an animal!”

“Aaaargh! You dare insult me! I’ll kill you!” The evil spirit suddenly left the girl’s body and charged furiously at the dark figure.

The other girl watched the fight with a snarl on her face.

Surprisingly, the evil spirit turned out to be a monkey demon. As it tangled with the dark energy, its soul was quickly corroded painfully and tried desperately to escape, but couldn’t. “Brother, help me! Save me…”

It cried desperately to the other girl.

The girl was both shocked and terrified. Unable to identify the opponent’s techniques or recognize their cultivation method, she quickly changed tactics, grabbing her own neck and glaring at the dark figure menacingly. “Let go of my brother, or else I’ll kill her!”

“Hmph! Childish! I’ll be clear with you—if you run away now and never do evil or harm others again, I might let you go. But if you dare to kill someone, I will never spare you. I will chase you to the ends of the earth until your soul is shattered and scattered. Right now, I’m merely a sliver of divine power and consciousness. If my true spirit arrives, guess what kind of fate awaits you?”

Suddenly, the dark figure trembled, and the monkey demon’s soul instantly dissolved into thin air, vanishing without a trace.

“My third brother! You actually killed my third brother!” The girl was shocked and terrified. Suddenly, she angrily removed her hand from her neck, pointed at Shui Miao, and roared, “Fine! You’re tough! At least leave your name!”

“Want revenge? Haha, sure…”

The dark figure sneered contemptuously. “Ghost Street, Super Feng Shui Master—I’m Shui Miao.”

“Fine! Fine, Shui Miao—you just wait for me!”

As soon as the girl finished speaking, her body suddenly went limp. A dark mist left her body and burrowed into the ground.

All the girls in the dormitory were scared away…

One girl being possessed by an unclean entity was manageable, especially since there were many people in the dorm. But two girls being possessed? That was a different story. To make matters worse, the leader of the two had practiced martial arts—who could possibly defeat her?

The girls screamed and fled in panic.

The two possessed girls exchanged a glance and charged together toward the dormitory exit.

But the moment they reached the door, a dark energy forced them back.

“You wretched fiends, how dare you! Do you wish to be utterly annihilated?”

The dark energy coalesced into a human form and spoke in a threatening tone, intimidating the evil spirits possessing the girls.

“Hehehehe…”

One of the girls let out an eerie laugh, crouched on the bed like a monkey, and pointed at the dark energy with a delicate, orchid-like gesture. “Who do you think you are? Neither human nor demon—do you really think we fear you?”

“Not afraid? If you’re not afraid, then why are you hiding?”

The dark energy snorted coldly. “A lowly monkey brat—after all, you’re still just a beast!”

“Ahhh! You infuriate me! How dare you insult me? I’ll fight you to the death!” The unclean entity suddenly left the girl’s body and charged fiercely toward the black shadow.

The other girl bared her teeth and watched the battle with a grimace.

The unclean entity turned out to be a monkey demon. It tangled with the dark energy, and in an instant, its demonic soul was corroded with unbearable pain. It tried to escape but couldn’t break free. “Big brother, save me, save me…” it cried out to the other girl.

The other girl, both terrified and alarmed, couldn’t discern the origin or techniques of the newcomer. Her eyes darted around, and she suddenly grabbed her own neck, threatening the black shadow fiercely: “Release my brother, or I’ll kill her!”

“Hmph! How naive. Let me make this clear: if you flee now and never harm anyone again, I might let you go. But if you kill her, I will hunt you down to the ends of the earth and ensure your soul is utterly destroyed. Right now, I am merely a wisp of immortal power and consciousness. If my true spirit were to arrive, what do you think would become of you?”

The black shadow shuddered slightly, and the monkey demon’s soul instantly dissipated into nothingness.

“Third Brother! How dare you kill my Third Brother!” The girl was both shocked and terrified. Suddenly, she moved her hand away from her neck, pointed at Shui Miao, and screamed, “You’re ruthless! If you have the guts, leave your name!”

“Seeking revenge? Heh, fine…”

The black shadow let out a disdainful laugh. “Ghost Street, the Supreme Feng Shui Master—I am Shui Miao.”

“Fine! Shui Miao, just you wait!”

As soon as she finished speaking, the girl’s body went limp. A dark energy visibly left her body and burrowed into the ground.

Fool, did you truly believe I would sit idly by, waiting for you to exact your vengeance? With a mere flicker of thought, Shui Miao channeled his spirit-devouring energy to pursue the entity beneath the earth. The impure creature’s earth-escape technique was remarkably advanced, and Shui Miao found himself unable to match its pace. Yet, his spiritual awareness was extraordinarily potent, allowing him to uncover the creature’s den—it had taken refuge in the lumberyard north of the city zoo, a somewhat cultivated hedgehog demon.

Back in his shop, sensing the demon’s hiding place, Shui Miao immediately opened his eyes and rushed toward the lumberyard north of the zoo.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ dormitory, the girl who had been possessed by the monkey demon overheard the conversation and learned that Shui Miao, the Supreme Feng Shui Master from Ghost Street, had saved them.

“Caw! Caw caw…”

In the dead of night, the crows in the lumberyard let out strange cries.

Shui Miao leaped over the wall, clutching a stick nearly a meter long, and made his way toward a large pile of logs. The gate of the lumberyard was securely locked, and Old Huang, the night watchman, had consumed some baijiu and was in a deep slumber—so deep that even if someone were to carry him out and leave him on the road, he probably wouldn’t stir. However, the two large black dogs kept in the lumberyard were alert and cautiously approached Shui Miao. Oddly, the dogs didn’t bark but instead walked up to him and together fixed their gaze on the woodpile, emitting low, soft growls.

It seemed they knew Shui Miao was there to exterminate the demon—and they appeared to despise the hedgehog demon as well.

“Come, let’s work together to destroy this demon. Their only advantage is their spines. I’ll imbue you with power, making your jaws incredibly strong—strong enough to bite through even steel!” Shui Miao crouched down, gently patted the two black dogs on their heads, and channeled streams of metal-element immortal power into them. The dogs’ bodies became enveloped in a golden light, especially their mouths, which shone with a golden hue, as if made of solid gold.

There were many ways to deal with demons, but one thing was certain: demons with physical bodies would never easily abandon them.

After imbuing the black dogs with immortal power, the two dogs wagged their tails excitedly at Shui Miao. He patted their heads again, assigned them positions to block the hedgehog’s escape, and then channeled a surge of spiritual-devouring power into the woodpile to force the hedgehog demon out.

Sure enough, under the pressure of the soul-devouring force, the hedgehog demon emerged from a hole in the zoo and entered the monkey enclosure. The two black dogs went berserk, breaking through the zoo wall and charging in to chase and bite the old hedgehog. Unexpectedly, the monkeys in the enclosure swarmed out and surrounded the black dogs. Shielded by the immortal power, the dogs fearlessly fought back, growing increasingly ferocious as the battle raged on. In the end, they not only tore the hedgehog to shreds but also slaughtered all the monkeys that had dared to provoke them.

Shui Miao then used his spiritual-devouring power to annihilate the souls of the monkey and hedgehog demons.

As the fourth watch of the night approached, Shui Miao realized the black dogs had caused major trouble and would surely be killed if left behind. So, he took them back to his shop. The two black dogs were highly intelligent, and after being infused with Shui Miao’s immortal power, their fur turned golden within an hour, and their energy and spirit improved dramatically.

But Shui Miao found it hard to believe, suspecting it was an illusion.

He picked up a camera to film the dogs and indeed, in the recording, they still appeared black, not golden.

This was profoundly mysterious, but Shui Miao seemed accustomed to such oddities and decided not to dwell on it.

During the fifth watch, Shui Miao sat on the bed in his shop, looking at the camera, when a thought struck him: he had used it to film various things but had never recorded himself. Would he still appear as he did now if he filmed himself?

So, he quickly set up the camera on the table and started recording himself.

After recording a segment, he played it back and was startled to find that his appearance in the video was exactly as it had been when he was still a laborer—his hair hadn’t turned white, his complexion was ordinary, and everything seemed completely normal.

“How can this be?”

Shui Miao was deeply puzzled. Could it be that the camera was faulty?

That seemed unlikely, but it was far too strange.

He calmed himself and carefully sensed the camera, but it was just an ordinary machine.

“Ah?”

As he turned his head inadvertently, he was startled to see a woman standing at the entrance of his shop. She was dressed entirely in white, with red shoes, disheveled hair, and eyes as dark as ink.

No, she wasn’t human—she was a female ghost!

Back in the shop, Shui Miao sensed the demon’s hiding place and immediately opened his eyes, rushing toward the lumber yard north of the zoo.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ dormitory, the girl previously possessed by the monkey demon overheard the conversation and learned that it was Shui Miao, the Super Feng Shui Master from Ghost Street, who had saved them.

“Ah! Ah ah…”

Late at night, crows cawed strangely around the lumber yard.

Shui Miao leaped over the wall, holding a nearly one-meter-long staff, and approached a pile of logs. The lumber yard gate was locked tight, and the old watchman, Lao Huang, had drunk some white wine and was fast asleep. He probably wouldn’t even wake up if someone dragged him out onto the street. However, the two large black dogs kept inside the yard had become alert and were slowly approaching Shui Miao. Strangely, the two dogs didn’t bark. Instead, they walked up to Shui Miao and stood beside him, growling lowly at the pile of logs.

It seemed they knew Shui Miao had come to eliminate the demon—they clearly hated the hedgehog demon as well.

“Alright, let’s work together and destroy this demon. All it relies on is its sharp spines. I’ll infuse you with divine power, making your jaws so strong they can even bite through steel!” Shui Miao squatted down, gently petting the two black dogs’ heads. He poured streams of golden-element divine energy into them. Their bodies were soon wrapped in golden light, especially their mouths, which gleamed like pure gold.

There are many ways to deal with demons, but one thing is certain—demons possessing physical bodies would never easily abandon them.

After infusing the black dogs with divine energy, they excitedly wagged their tails at Shui Miao. He patted their heads again, assigned them positions to intercept the hedgehog demon, and then channeled a surge of spirit-devouring energy into the pile of logs, attempting to force the hedgehog demon out.

Sure enough, under the pressure of the spirit-devouring energy, the hedgehog demon crawled out of a hole from the zoo and fled into the monkey enclosure. The two black dogs went wild, smashing a hole through the zoo’s fence and charging in to chase and bite the old hedgehog. Unexpectedly, the monkeys in the enclosure rushed out and surrounded the black dogs. However, protected by divine energy, the dogs were fearless, biting fiercely and growing more powerful with each moment. Eventually, they not only tore apart the hedgehog demon but also killed all the monkeys that had attacked them.

Shui Miao used his spirit-devouring power to destroy the souls of both the monkey and hedgehog demons.

As the fourth watch approached, Shui Miao realized the black dogs had caused a huge mess. If they stayed, they would surely die. He took the two dogs back to his shop. These dogs were highly perceptive. After absorbing Shui Miao’s divine energy, their fur turned golden yellow within an hour, and their vitality and spirit improved dramatically.

However, Shui Miao remained skeptical, sensing it was an illusion.

So he took out a video camera and filmed the black dogs. Sure enough, on the camera, the dogs were still black, not golden yellow at all.

It was very strange, but Shui Miao seemed to have gotten used to such oddities and decided not to dwell on it.

At the fifth watch of the night, Shui Miao sat on the bed in his shop watching the camera footage. Suddenly, a thought struck him—he had been filming everything and everyone else, but had never filmed himself. He wondered what he would look like on camera—would he still appear the same?

So, Shui Miao hurriedly placed the camera on the table and began filming himself.

After recording a short clip, he played it back and was shocked to see that on the video, he looked exactly as he had during his days working a regular job—he had black hair, his complexion was average, and everything about him seemed completely ordinary.

“How could this be?”

Shui Miao was deeply puzzled and couldn’t help but wonder—was there something wrong with the camera?

That seemed unlikely, yet the situation was too strange.

Shui Miao calmed his mind and carefully examined the camera with his spiritual sense, but it was just an ordinary machine.

“Ahh?”

Without thinking, he turned his head and was startled—standing at the entrance of his shop was a woman dressed in white clothes and trousers, red shoes on her feet, her long hair disheveled, and her eyes pitch black!

No, she wasn’t human—she was a female ghost!
