Chapter 163: Charity, Father’s Revenge

“Hahaha…”

After a dozen seconds of tense silence, Sun Hao suddenly burst into laughter…

A slight smile tugged at the corner of Shui Miao’s lips, and he joined in with a chuckle.

Suddenly, Sun Hao’s laughter ceased. He shook his head at Shui Miao with a sneer and said, “I never thought—never in my wildest dreams—that you were actually Chen Yiren’s son! And Han Baisheng said you were arrogant, but I never expected you to be so incredibly conceited. Now I’m really curious about what exactly gives you the confidence to be so bold. Is it just those little tricks of yours? We three built everything from scratch, enduring all sorts of hardships and storms, and we’ve encountered every kind of con artist and trickster out there. Do you really think you can fool us with such petty tricks? You must be incredibly naive to even consider it!”

“Exactly. What you’re doing is nothing more than a magic act. It might work on others, but trying to show off in front of us? You really are too innocent,” Jiang Zhihao scoffed with a shake of his head.

Jiang Tao, however, sat silently, biting his lip and frowning as he stared at Shui Miao. He had examined everything thoroughly, yet he still couldn’t figure out how that chair had flown into the air.

“It’s normal. It’s perfectly understandable that you’d think that way!” Shui Miao replied with a nod and a smile.

“Enough with the theatrics. We can tell you the truth about how your father was killed,” Sun Hao tapped the table to get Shui Miao’s attention, hoping to bring some seriousness to the conversation instead of Shui Miao’s usual playful attitude. “But before that, you must tell us who exactly you are. How were you able to drink so much without getting drunk? How did you remove the southern necromancer’s talisman? And how did you even get in here?”

“Who I am… that’s kind of a complicated question…” Shui Miao scratched his head playfully. “If I say I’m a god, you won’t believe me. If I say I’m just an ordinary person, you won’t believe me either. So let me introduce myself with a title I really like—I’m a super… Feng Shui master!”

“A super Feng Shui master!?”

Sun Hao frowned deeply. “What exactly makes you ‘super?'”

“The five elements and yin-yang, all under my command,” Shui Miao nodded.

“Hmph! Aren’t you afraid of talking too big and biting off more than you can chew?” Sun Hao snorted disdainfully.

Shui Miao blinked. “Looks like you guys don’t believe me. Well then, I’ll give each of you a chance to see for yourselves. But since you don’t believe me, if you want to become my disciples afterward, each of you will have to pay ten billion as tuition.”

“…”

Shui Miao was clearly asking for an outrageous amount.

Sun Hao rubbed his chin thoughtfully, reassessing Shui Miao. He really couldn’t figure him out.

Jiang Zhihao licked his lips. “Fine, I’ll go first. You said you can control yin and yang and the five elements. So now, I want to see a ghost. If you can summon one for me to see, I’ll believe you—and I’ll pay you ten billion.” Jiang had always been uncertain about life and death. He was half-convinced of the existence of ghosts and spirits. He was always afraid that death meant complete oblivion. He hoped that ghosts truly existed because then he could feel that life could continue beyond death. Otherwise, all his hard-earned wealth would be meaningless to him after he died. It was a natural thought for someone his age.

Shui Miao looked at Jiang Zhihao. “You’re a Buddhist, yet you ask such a question. Clearly, you’re not sincere at all. Today, I can certainly grant your wish, but I need to make one thing clear beforehand: your body is weak from old age, your vital energy is low. If I lower your yang energy to the minimum and you see a ghost, you might get so frightened that your soul flees or the ghost possesses you. If that happens and you come to me for help, I’ll charge extra.”

“Just tell me how much more!” Jiang Zhihao, intrigued by Shui Miao’s explanation, was already tempted.

“Another ten billion.”

Shui Miao raised his eyebrows. These old rich guys had nothing if not money. If he didn’t take advantage of them, who else would he take advantage of?

“No problem. I can afford that.”

Jiang Zhihao stood up, moved his chair behind Sun Hao and Jiang Tao, and said, “Don’t touch me. I want to see exactly how you’re going to show me a ghost.”

“Don’t get scared now!”

Shui Miao lowered his voice, creating a tense atmosphere, and then gently closed his eyes.

Sun Hao and Jiang Tao exchanged glances, curious to see what Shui Miao would do next.

Jiang Zhihao, meanwhile, was visibly excited.

Soon, a chill swept into the tightly sealed meeting room. A cold wind sent shivers down the spines of the three men. Their entire bodies felt icy, and their heads felt an unprecedented chill, as if their skulls had been peeled away and their brains exposed.

Just as the three were bewildered, a white figure floated into the room. It was a woman of extraordinary beauty.

Her figure was voluptuous, and she smiled seductively, swaying her hips as she approached the three old men.

As the three were captivated by her beauty and let down their guard, the seductive woman suddenly transformed into a hideous monster, blood streaming from her eyes. The three old men screamed in terror, falling backward in fright, each losing a piece of their soul in an instant.

“Really can’t take a scare, can you?”

Shui Miao shook his head, opened his eyes, and said, “Thank you, little fox sister. Please collect their lost souls before you leave.”

“Sure thing, big immortal brother,” the fox spirit giggled, transformed back to her original form, smiled at Shui Miao, waved her hand, and restored the men’s souls before floating out of the room.

In the spirit world, just like in the human world, only the strong are revered. Hence, the fox spirit regarded Shui Miao as her superior.

The three old men shakily got to their feet, their faces pale with fear.

Shui Miao sat back at the table, rubbed his hands together, and urged Jiang Zhihao, “Write the check. And if you want to become my disciple, write twenty billion.”

“I will! I will!!”

Jiang Zhihao was suddenly excited again, though his body still trembled from the cold. He could barely hold the pen steady.

“Fine, since you’re my disciple now, I’ll give you a bit of divine energy to make you ten years younger,” Shui Miao shrugged, reached out, and touched Jiang Zhihao’s forehead. Instantly, a warm sensation poured down from Jiang’s head, spreading warmth throughout his body. He felt incredibly comfortable, his mind clear, and even the wrinkles on his face had noticeably diminished.

Ten years younger—Shui Miao might have exaggerated a bit.

But if he truly wanted to make Jiang Zhihao look younger, it wasn’t impossible. By using divine energy to cleanse his body, removing impurities and toxins, the effect could be achieved.

“Ah! Amazing! This is absolutely amazing!” Jiang Zhihao marveled as he noticed the wrinkles on his hands disappearing. He pinched his thigh hard—it hurt! Overjoyed, he jumped up like a child, hugging first Sun Hao, then Jiang Tao.

Sun and Jiang felt the warmth radiating from Jiang Zhihao and wanted to hug him for warmth, but he broke free and rushed to write the check.

Seeing Jiang Zhihao actually writing the check, Shui Miao stopped him.

“Master, I… should I write it now? Or can I just transfer the money right away?” Jiang Zhihao was fully committed to Shui Miao as his master. He wouldn’t even flinch at giving half of his entire fortune.

“No need. Tomorrow, just establish a charity foundation to help the elderly and orphans. I don’t need money—it’s just an external thing to me.” Shui Miao changed his mind. What use did he have for so much money? He was devoted to cultivation; too much wealth would only be a burden.

Turning around, Shui Miao resumed his usual demeanor. “Alright, Mr. Sun, Mr. Jiang, it’s your turn. Ask me anything about yin-yang and the five elements.”

“We’re… we’re really cold. Can’t we…”

Sun Hao, the oldest, was struggling to endure the lingering coldness.

Shui Miao shook his head. “Unless you’re also willing to pay twenty billion. My divine energy is only for my disciples. Of course, the money won’t be mine—it will all go to the charity fund to help those in need.”

“I’ll pay! I’ll pay right now!”

Sun Hao quickly grabbed his checkbook.

“So will I! Master, we were wrong earlier. I’ll pay thirty billion!” Jiang Tao was even more eager, opening his laptop to make an online transfer.

Shui Miao’s refusal to take the money for himself, despite the massive amount involved, was something few could do. Because of this, the three business tycoons were deeply moved. They no longer needed to test Shui Miao—they now regarded him as a deity.

“Fine then. Since you believe me, I won’t let you down. I’ll use divine energy to cleanse and rejuvenate your bodies. But listen carefully—if you ever do evil, I’ll send the fox spirit to take your souls and scatter them completely, so that you’ll vanish from this world forever!” Shui Miao stood up, placing one hand on Sun Hao’s head and the other on Jiang Tao’s. As his divine energy flowed, he restored their yang energy and purified their bodies, leaving them feeling refreshed and invigorated, as if they had ascended to immortality.

Shui Miao wasn’t biased—he turned around and purified Jiang Zhihao’s body again.

The three old men, having experienced real benefits, were overjoyed. Eager to please Shui Miao, Jiang Zhihao declared that he would add several more billions to the charity fund, bringing the total to one hundred billion, and asked Shui Miao to name it. Shui Miao, indifferent to such honors, casually suggested “Love in the Human World.” The three old men showered him with flattery, but Shui Miao remained unmoved, completely unaffected by their praise. He then spoke solemnly, “Now, you can finally tell me how my father died back then?”

“Uh…”

At this question, the three men froze instantly.

Because they had all been involved in the conspiracy that led to Chen Yiren’s death and had taken part of his fortune.

“It’s okay. If you took the money back then, just use ten times that amount for charity, and I won’t hold it against you. But you must tell me the truth.”

Shui Miao spoke each word slowly and clearly, his tone extremely serious and firm.
