Chapter 87: Slightly Displaying One’s Skills

“Where?” Han Li snapped back to reality and asked urgently.

“Over there!”

Following Li Feiyu’s gaze, Han Li finally spotted Zhang Xiuer in a corner of the crowd. Her face was pale, and she stood with two other female companions who were also participating in the death duel. Dressed in a plain white silk dress, she bit her cherry lips lightly, looking as delicate and pitiable as a small white flower.

“How could a delicate girl like Miss Zhang take part in such a bloody duel? Did that Wang guy make a mistake?” Han Li still couldn’t believe his eyes, speaking in disbelief.

“Xiuer is also a core disciple of the Seven Mysteries Sect. Didn’t I tell you?” Li Feiyu responded with a bitter smile, revealing news that greatly surprised Han Li.

Han Li fell silent. Clearly, the Seven Mysteries Sect had few remaining experts in this place, and their sect master, Wang, showed no intention of sparing anyone out of chivalry. In order to win the death duel, he had even sent out someone as delicate as Zhang Xiuer. It seemed he was going all out.

“Brother, I won’t waste words. I need to be with Xiuer. Take care of yourself!” Li Feiyu patted Han Li’s shoulder gently, then turned and walked into the crowd.

Before he had taken two steps, he heard a soft sigh behind him. A breeze brushed past, and suddenly, Han Li appeared beside him.

“What’s the big deal? It’s just a death duel. A small scene like this can’t trouble me. Since we’re friends, I’ll help you with this small favor,” Han Li said with a smile.

Without another word, Li Feiyu punched Han Li’s chest firmly and whispered, “Good brother! Thank you!”

Han Li smiled without replying. As he had said, he had followed for two reasons: firstly, because he had spent a long time with Li Feiyu and shared a deep bond, unwilling to watch him risk his life alone; secondly, because he was confident in his skills and feared nothing. He didn’t believe the so-called experts of the Wild Wolf Gang posed any real threat to someone who had mastered the Fireball Technique and the Windriding Art. Moreover, he was eager to test his current abilities.

The two strode through the crowd, heading directly toward Wang Juechu. On the way, they tore off their Duan Shui Sect disguises, revealing their Seven Mysteries Sect uniforms beneath.

Han Li and Li Feiyu’s sudden appearance and identity switch left both sides stunned. For a moment, no one tried to stop them, allowing them to easily approach Wang Juechu.

“Hall Master Li!”

“Doctor Han!”

Many disciples on the Seven Mysteries Sect side recognized these two famous figures and exclaimed in astonishment.

Zhang Xiuer was overjoyed to see Li Feiyu, her charming face filled with surprise and delight. If there hadn’t been so many people around, she would have rushed into her beloved’s arms to pour out her feelings.

Naturally, Sect Master Wang also recognized them. A flicker of surprise crossed his eyes at their sudden appearance.

“Deputy Hall Master Li Feiyu of the External Blade Hall greets the Sect Master,” Li Feiyu announced loudly. “We are willing to sign the death contract and participate in the blood duel. We hope the Sect Master will grant our request.”

Without waiting for any questions, he directly stated their purpose. Han Li stood silently beside him, deferring to Li Feiyu as the leader.

Hearing Li Feiyu’s words, Sect Master Wang swallowed the reprimand that had risen to his lips. A faint smile appeared on his cold face as he said gently, “Good! You truly are loyal disciples of the Seven Mysteries Sect. With Hall Master Li joining the duel, our sect’s chances of victory have increased. However, Doctor Han should not participate. His medical skills are too valuable to our sect. If anything were to happen to him in the death duel, the loss would outweigh the gain.”

Upon hearing this, Han Li smiled faintly. Without waiting for Li Feiyu to explain, he swayed slightly and vanished right before Sect Master Wang’s eyes.

Startled, Sect Master Wang was about to look around when he heard Han Li’s lazy voice from behind him: “I wonder if my skills are worthy of the Sect Master’s approval? I believe I have the ability to protect myself even in a death duel. I hope the Sect Master will grant my loyal request.”

Sect Master Wang was horrified. He never expected that Han Li, known for his medical skills within the sect, possessed such terrifying movement techniques. Han Li had silently slipped behind him without him noticing.

“Such frightening skills! Who is this man? What are his intentions hiding in our sect?” A series of alarming thoughts flooded Wang Juechu’s mind.

He turned to look at Han Li, who still appeared harmless, and couldn’t help glancing at his three martial uncles.

His three uncles also looked slightly pale, their eyes filled with astonishment and caution. Clearly, Doctor Han’s abilities had deeply unsettled them.

Several conflicting thoughts raced through Sect Master Wang’s mind before he finally made a decision. He burst into laughter and said warmly, “Since Doctor Han is so loyal to our sect, how could I, as the Sect Master, refuse?”

He then pointed to two of the weakest disciples originally participating in the death duel and had them withdraw, replacing them with Han Li and Li Feiyu. He also had them sign the blood-red death contract first, using black ink, making them the first official participants in the death duel.

The farce on the Seven Mysteries Sect’s side was clearly observed by Jia Tianlong. Although he was somewhat surprised to see two additional experts joining the opposing side, he didn’t pay it much mind. After all, he believed that mere mortals, no matter how skilled, stood no chance against the flying sword techniques of the Golden Light Master.

Once both sides had signed and exchanged the death contracts, the blood duel, where only one side could walk out alive, finally began.
