Chapter 2290: The War of the Asura (Part 4)

“So it truly is the body of a five-colored peacock! Marvelous, I never expected the Wuguang Clan to have a fellow Daoist like you. I must have a good spar with you.” Han Li’s pupils slightly contracted before he suddenly chuckled and spoke.

“A spar? What do you mean by that?” The five-colored peacock’s eyes flashed with a strange light as it spoke in human language.

“Haha…” Han Li threw his head back in laughter but said nothing more. Instead, his aura shifted abruptly, and a five-colored flame surged from his body.

Amidst the flickering five-colored flames, Han Li’s figure blurred before transforming into a strikingly magnificent giant spiritual bird—another five-colored peacock!

“What? You’re also of the Wuguang Clan… No, your aura is wrong. You must have refined some of our sacred avian’s true blood to assume this form.” The opposing peacock was initially shocked, but its eyes quickly gleamed with insight as it detected subtle differences.

“You have sharp eyes indeed, seeing through my transformation at a glance.” Han Li sneered, but the peacock he had transformed into flapped its wings, intensifying the five-colored radiance around it before sending a rolling wave of light toward his opponent.

“Good, very good. You dare to use divine light techniques in front of me? Then let me teach you what true five-colored divine light is!” The old man surnamed Yi laughed in fury.

As soon as he finished speaking, the peacock he had transformed into shook its long feathers, which suddenly turned into countless five-colored arrows shooting toward Han Li.

The sound of “chi chi” filled the sky as the incoming five-colored flames were instantly pierced with countless holes of varying sizes upon contact with the arrows.

The five-colored wave slowed to a halt.

With no further resistance, the arrows shot straight toward Han Li.

Han Li was momentarily stunned, but the peacock he had transformed into immediately shook its feathers, solidifying the radiance around it before releasing strands of five-colored light.

Each strand flashed and precisely struck an arrow, wrapping around it before tightening with force.

A series of sharp cracks rang out as the arrows shattered into countless fragments under the pressure.

The light strands blurred before vanishing in place.

The next moment, ripples appeared in front of the peacock transformed by the old man surnamed Yi, and dense clusters of light strands shot out from the void, trembling as if preparing to bind him instantly.

However, the moment the strands touched the peacock’s body, its five-colored radiance flared brightly.

The strands vanished into it with a muffled “pu pu,” producing no further effect.

Seeing this from afar, Han Li’s heart chilled.

The peacock transformed by the old man surnamed Yi let out a long cry, and one of its claws, shimmering with five-colored light, slashed forward through the air.

A dull “puchi” sounded as a colossal claw, spanning several acres, emerged from the void hundreds of feet away, descending toward Han Li’s peacock form.

Han Li sneered, and the peacock’s body blurred before vanishing, reappearing dozens of feet away in another part of the void. At the same time, it opened its mouth and spat a stream of silver flames at the claw.

Though the claw appeared massive, it reacted with astonishing speed, flipping its palm to swat the flames away.

A muffled explosion!

The claw’s surface shimmered with five-colored crystalline light, extinguishing the silver flames instantly. Then, its fingers spread and made a lightning-fast grab toward Han Li’s peacock form.

Before the claw even descended, countless five-colored runes flickered in the void around Han Li, forming layers of invisible restraints that trapped him tightly.

Han Li’s peacock form flapped its wings, sending a surge of five-colored flames outward, but the moment they struck the runes, they dissipated as if encountering their natural enemy.

Startled, Han Li instinctively intensified the five-colored radiance around him. All his feathers trembled slightly before detaching and shooting outward, swirling in the void before condensing into over a dozen dazzling five-colored sword beams that slashed wildly in all directions.

A series of metallic clangs rang out!

The sword beams struck the runes but were repelled as if hitting tempered steel, utterly failing to break the restraints.

“Keke, my solidified heaven and earth technique isn’t so easily broken. Just accept your fate, fellow Daoist!” The old man surnamed Yi, overjoyed at the sight, spoke through his peacock form before extending another claw forward.

Ripples appeared above Han Li as another massive claw, wreathed in five-colored radiance, emerged and descended.

Immediately, even more five-colored runes manifested in the surrounding void.

Han Li’s peacock form stiffened, completely immobilized.

Thus, under the old man’s triumphant gaze, the two claws descended one after another like lightning.

As the enormous claw shadows fell, they stirred up violent gales, distorting the space below. Han Li’s peacock form was instantly engulfed.

The old man surnamed Yi burst into wild laughter!

He had never expected to defeat such a formidable foe so easily with his five-colored divine light.

However, to be cautious, his peacock form immediately soared into the air. Its wings flapped, and the five-colored radiance around it shifted before turning translucent like colored glass.

Then, the five-colored peacock let out a clear cry and spat out a glassy beam of light that vanished in a flash, reappearing where Han Li had been.

But at that moment, a deep growl emerged from the distorted void, and a golden light flared brilliantly, revealing a massive, furry palm the size of a water vat.

The palm spread its fingers, turning entirely purple-gold before intercepting the glassy beam.

A deafening explosion!

The beam shattered upon impact, stirring the surrounding spiritual energy as a blinding glassy sun erupted.

The furry palm had actually blocked the seemingly unstoppable beam with sheer physical might.

The old man surnamed Yi was both shocked and enraged, but before he could launch another attack, an icy snort echoed from within the golden light.

The peacock form trembled as if struck by lightning, involuntarily retreating several steps.

Simultaneously, a savage roar erupted from the golden light as a fist shadow the size of a small mountain shot upward, shattering the two five-colored claws like paper. An overwhelming, terrifying aura surged outward, causing the surrounding five-colored runes to burst apart.

The golden light then dissipated, revealing a towering purple-gold ape over a hundred feet tall, slowly retracting its massive fist.

“Your true form is a Mountain Giant Ape… No, it can’t be! Even a normal Mountain Giant Ape couldn’t break free from my solidified heaven and earth so easily.” The peacock, forced back by the aura, spoke in a mix of shock and fury.

“Hmph, what my true form is doesn’t concern you. However, I’ve now experienced the wonders of your five-colored divine light. Now, it’s your turn to witness my true power.” The giant ape glared coldly at the five-colored peacock.

“You think changing your form will let you defeat me? Dream on!”

Though the old man sensed the terrifying aura of the ape, his face showed no fear. Instead, he let out a low shout, and the peacock’s form shimmered before transforming into something else entirely—a humanoid figure with a peacock’s head, clad in brocade robes, with five crystalline swords of different colors sheathed on its back.

He had abandoned his peacock form, becoming a bizarre half-avian, half-human entity.

“Interesting. So you’ve been holding back. Perfect—now I can finally fight without restraint.”

The giant ape’s eyes gleamed as its massive hands flipped over, revealing two small mountains, one azure and one black, each about ten feet tall.

Han Li tossed the two mountains into the air before pointing at them with a finger.

Under the influence of his spell, the two mountains rapidly expanded to over a hundred feet tall.

At the same time, the purple-gold ape’s body swelled with silver patterns, growing to a staggering three to four hundred feet in height.

Once its body stabilized, the ape pounded its steel-like chest with fists the size of small houses before grabbing the two mountains.

Its arms thickened momentarily before it roared and hurled the mountains toward the monstrous form of the old man surnamed Yi.

The moment the mountains left its grip, they transformed into azure and black orbs before vanishing into the void at an unbelievable speed.

A piercing screech filled the sky!

The monster formed by the old man sensed ripples in the air as two colossal objects appeared before him.

A force capable of suffocating even a Mahayana cultivator surged forth!

Before the pressure even fully descended, the protective spiritual light around the old man trembled violently, and his face stung as if cut by blades.

Yet, the old man’s peacock head revealed a strange glint in its eyes. Without any visible movement, the five crystalline swords on his back suddenly shimmered.

With several “bang” sounds, the swords teleported before him, crossing in midair to neutralize the crushing force.

But what truly shocked Han Li was that when the two mountains crashed down upon the five swords, they abruptly halted in midair.

From a distance, it appeared as though the five slender swords had effortlessly stopped the massive mountains.

Having reached the Mahayana realm, Han Li was well aware of the immense physical strength his ape form possessed.

Seeing this bizarre scene, his pupils contracted sharply as he narrowed his eyes completely.
