“Six Extremes, I was wondering why you haven’t made any progress all these years. It turns out the injuries from our battle back then never truly healed. Now, all six of your avatars have been completely annihilated by me, and your true form is trapped within the Profound Heaven Spirit Domain. Even if you had the power to reach the heavens, you’d have no chance of turning the tables now.” Baohua’s voice drifted leisurely from within the illusory petals.
However, aside from the rumbling echoes within the white mist, there was no response from anyone else.
“You stubbornly clung on, even at the cost of sacrificing all six avatars, just to wait for Niepan and Yuanyan, didn’t you?” Baohua added indifferently, a faint trace of mockery curling at the corner of her lips.
“So what if I did? After I took your position as the Progenitor, both Niepan and Yuanyan personally promised to protect me at all costs. Don’t forget, I am now one of the rightful Three Progenitors. I knew you’d seize this chance to settle old scores, so I made arrangements with them long ago.” A furious female voice, sharp with indignation, finally pierced through the mist.
“Niepan and Yuanyan did promise to help you if you encountered me—but only if they could actually spare the effort to intervene,” Baohua replied, seemingly amused.
“What? You’ve also sought help? Impossible! Who in the Sacred Realm would dare—or even be capable—of holding off Niepan and Yuanyan? Unless… you enlisted outsiders! Why would they risk offending two Progenitor-level beings like Niepan and Yuanyan for a fallen outsider like you?” For the first time, a hint of fear crept into Six Extremes’ voice.
“Not bad, you’re not entirely foolish. Indeed, I paid a hefty price to secure two rare allies. One is roughly on par with them, while the other… well, I daresay surpasses them in power. So if you’re counting on reinforcements, I’m afraid you’ll be sorely disappointed.” Baohua chuckled lightly.
“Hmph! No need to ask—one must be the Bronze Crow Elder. But who’s the other? Among the outsiders, is there truly someone who can overpower our Sacred Realm’s Progenitors? Baohua, you’re not just boasting, are you?” Six Extremes’ voice regained its composure almost instantly, laced with skepticism.
“Whether I’m boasting or not, you’ll find out soon enough. Niepan and Yuanyan aren’t too far from here. If they could come to your aid, they’d have arrived by now. But of course, that’s assuming you can last that long,” Baohua replied coolly.
A furious snort echoed from the mist before silence fell once more.
Clearly, Six Extremes knew that regardless of the truth, any further words would only humiliate her, so she chose silence as before.
But Baohua’s lips curled into a cold smile as she uttered words that sent a chill down Six Extremes’ spine:
“Six Extremes, you must think you still have a backup plan—that even if I destroy your body and soul now, you’ll still have a chance to rise again, don’t you?”
“Baohua, what do you mean by that?” Six Extremes could no longer contain herself, her voice sharp with alarm.
“It’s simple. You still have a seventh avatar, one you’ve never revealed to anyone. Though you’ve hidden it meticulously, remember this: walls have ears. And I happen to know about it,” Baohua said with a playful smile.
“I don’t believe you know anything. You’re just trying to unsettle me with baseless rumors!” Despite having her greatest secret exposed, Six Extremes quickly regained her composure, proving herself a worthy adversary.
“You intended that seventh avatar as a failsafe, didn’t you? Even if your main body perishes, you could revive through it. With your methods, restoring your memories and powers wouldn’t be too difficult. And if I were careless, you might even plot against me again years later. But by my calculations, the hiding place of your seventh avatar should soon be compromised.” Baohua chuckled softly before murmuring to herself.
“What? You’ve truly found its location? Impossible! Who did you send?” Six Extremes’ voice trembled with rage and shock.
“Haven’t you noticed that Black Crocodile isn’t by my side?” Baohua replied calmly.
“Black Crocodile? That mere Body Integration junior? He couldn’t possibly break my seals!” Relief flickered in Six Extremes’ voice.
“True, Black Crocodile alone might not be enough. But what if he wielded a Profound Heaven Treasure specifically countering your seals?” Baohua mused.
“A Profound Heaven Treasure? You’d lend such a treasure to someone else? Aren’t you afraid he’d steal it and flee?” Six Extremes’ face darkened.
“I’ve taken precautions with the treasure, so why not lend it to him? Enough talk. I’ve indulged you long enough. Now, let me send you off properly.” Baohua’s tone turned icy.
In an instant, the pink petals floating lazily in the mist shimmered with crystalline light, whirling violently amid thunderous winds.
Each petal grew razor-sharp and enormous, transforming into countless pink blades churning wildly within the mist.
A deafening explosion erupted!
Both petals and mist vanished within a colossal sphere of light spanning miles.
When the radiance and tremors finally subsided, only a faint silhouette remained above the valley. With a soft sigh, it blurred and disappeared.
Meanwhile, atop a distant peak, Han Li and Yuanyan conversed like old friends.
Yuanyan, one of the Three Progenitors of the Demon Realm, shared cultivation insights that left Han Li deeply impressed.
Though Yuanyan’s expression remained neutral, a glint in his eyes betrayed his keen interest in Han Li’s own revelations.
Midway through explaining a secret technique, Han Li suddenly paused, glancing toward the horizon. With a laugh, he stood. “Brother Yuan, it seems Baohua has succeeded in her vengeance. With that, I’ll take my leave.”
Without waiting for a reply, Han Li’s body shimmered with green light as he soared into the sky.
Yuanyan remained seated, watching the departing figure with unveiled resignation.
Soon, Han Li descended onto another hilltop, where Silvermoon waited anxiously alongside two others: Mo Jianli and Silvermoon Patriarch, both renowned human Grand Ascension cultivators.
All three smiled as Han Li appeared, with Silvermoon rushing forward joyfully.
…
Three months later, above the famed Blue Waterfall Lake of the Demon Realm, a sleek white airship—its runes starkly different from typical demonic vessels—streaked across the sky at impossible speed, ignoring the lake’s formidable flight restrictions.
The demon clansmen on the boats below stared in astonishment, swiftly bowing in reverence. Only a fellow Sacred Ancestor would dare to defy the prohibition so boldly.
The airship carried Han Li, who had traveled from the Primordial Demon Land via teleportation arrays across a dozen cities. His purpose: to retrieve Zi Ling.
Long ago, he’d promised to free her from Six Extremes’ control and restore her human form once he had the power. With Six Extremes dead and no further threats in the Demon Realm, it was time to fulfill that vow.
As for the Blue Waterfall Sacred Ancestor—once trapped in the ancient seal—he’d surely heard of Han Li by now. Even knowing Han Li was human, he wouldn’t dare interfere.
As Han Li pondered, the airship circled the giant island housing Blue Waterfall City before descending toward a forest shrouded in pale light.
With a few *pops*, layers of barriers shattered under Han Li’s overwhelming spiritual force, allowing the ship to slip through before they could reform.
Below stood a grand pavilion, its entrance emblazoned with three gleaming characters: “Guangyuan Zhai” (Wide Source Pavilion).
Inside, on the fourth floor, a flaxen-robed girl abruptly set down her book, her fingers dancing in rapid calculations before her face lit up with excitement.
“Miss! Intruders have breached the barriers!” a woman’s alarmed voice called from downstairs.
“Aunt Zhu, don’t worry. It’s no enemy—but an honored guest,” the girl replied, her smile radiant.
