Chapter 2032: Strange Devil Gold

This scene easily brought back memories of his past experiences in the human world, wandering through marketplaces.

Based on Han Li’s experience, although most of the items on these stalls were low-grade materials and magical tools, there were occasionally rare treasures among them.

After all, not all demonic beings were willing to sell their items at low prices to shops directly.

Especially under the current circumstances, where so many demonic beings were forced to stay in the city, there were undoubtedly some who took the opportunity to sell their rare collections, hoping to fetch a high price.

As Han Li strolled slowly down the street, he released his spiritual sense to swiftly scan the stalls on both sides.

Many of the materials on these stalls were similar to those found in the Spirit Realm, though quite a few that should have been rich in spiritual energy instead contained extremely pure demonic energy.

Of course, there were also materials imbued with pure spiritual energy, but their numbers were far fewer than those infused with demonic energy.

Han Li paid no attention to these materials, focusing instead on the peculiar and unfamiliar items—things he had never seen before.

These were likely unique to the Demon Realm.

As for the magical tools and treasures, his spiritual sense merely brushed past them.

Given his current level of discernment, ordinary top-tier treasures no longer held any appeal. As for spirit treasures, the likelihood of them appearing in such a place was practically nonexistent.

Han Li wouldn’t waste much thought on them.

The street wasn’t very long, with only about two or three hundred stalls on either side.

In the time it took to finish a meal, he had already browsed most of them, but very few caught his attention. Even the few items that made him pause and examine them closely were eventually put back with a shake of his head.

The demonic stall owners, though fierce-looking, were instantly intimidated upon sensing Han Li’s Void Refinement cultivation. They forced smiles, not daring to show the slightest hint of displeasure.

As Han Li continued forward, he began to feel somewhat disappointed.

Though he had discovered a few materials not found in the Spirit Realm, they were of little use to someone of his level. Just as he was considering leaving the street to visit some larger shops nearby, a sudden surge of powerful energy erupted from a stall ahead, accompanied by an enraged shout.

“I’ve decided—this thing is mine. Here’s the demon stone you asked for. Hand it over now.”

“Stop blathering. Didn’t I say it? The price has gone up. If you want it, you’ll need either a top-tier demonic tool or ten premium demon stones. Otherwise, forget it!” replied another voice, cold and sinister.

“I already paid the deposit yesterday! Now that I’ve finally gathered the amount you demanded, you raise the price today. Are you mocking me?” The first voice grew even more furious, clearly unwilling to back down.

“Hmph, it’s my item. I’ll set the price whenever I want. Here’s your deposit from yesterday—take it and get lost. No premium demon stones or top-tier demon tools? Then scram!” The sinister voice sneered, its words dripping with scorn.

“Nonsense! Do you even know who I, Niu, am? Do you think you can toy with me like this? If you don’t sell me that thing today, I’ll dismantle your bones one by one!” The first man, clearly no pushover, spat back with equal ferocity.

“Dismantle my bones? Hah! I haven’t heard that in years. If you’ve got the skill, go ahead and try!” The sinister voice remained unfazed, even mocking in return.

At the same time, another surge of spiritual pressure, no weaker than the first, erupted from the stall.

The commotion naturally drew the attention of nearby demonic beings, with some bold onlookers even stepping closer to watch.

“Tsk, isn’t that Haifei of the Blue Dolphin Clan and Niu Li of the Black Hoof Tribe? Why are they clashing?”

“Haha, this’ll be good. These two aren’t weak. If they fight, it’s hard to say who’ll win!”

Whispers and murmurs spread through the crowd.

The two demonic beings seemed quite well-known in Blood Crow City, as most of the surrounding demons recognized them.

With a faint blue glint in his eyes, Han Li quickly assessed the situation.

Within a circle formed by a dozen or so demons stood a towering, horned demon nearly ten feet tall, his face twisted in rage as he confronted the stall owner.

The stall owner was a short, plump demon with deep blue skin and puffy eyes.

The two auras earlier had erupted from these two, both at the Divine Transformation stage—one at mid-stage, the other at early-stage.

Though the taller demon was slightly weaker in cultivation, his robust physique suggested considerable skill in body refinement. In a fight, it was hard to predict who would gain the upper hand.

Of course, two mere Divine Transformation-stage demons were hardly worth Han Li’s attention. After a cursory glance, he was about to withdraw his gaze.

But when his eyes landed on the object clutched tightly in the plump stall owner’s hand, his expression shifted, and he abruptly strode toward the crowd.

In a few silent flashes, Han Li slipped between the demons, his gaze fixed intently on the item in the stall owner’s hand.

It was a strange, fist-sized ore, black and white, shimmering with a cold, crystalline light.

When Han Li’s spiritual sense probed the object, his pupils contracted sharply, and a flicker of delight crossed his face.

Meanwhile, the two demons, egged on by the surrounding spectators, grew increasingly heated in their argument, their auras flaring ominously.

Yet, for some reason, neither made a move.

“Hey, why don’t you two stop arguing? It’s just a piece of aberrant demon gold. Are you really going to fight to the death over it in the arena? If so, your lives must be worth very little,” a bystander who seemed familiar with both demons interjected with a smile.

“Ah, Brother Tan. It’s not that I’m deliberately raising the price. It’s just that this piece of aberrant demon gold contains a special demonic energy, far superior to others of its kind. The price I set yesterday was too low. Otherwise, why would he insist on buying this particular piece? Though rare, this material isn’t unavailable in other shops,” the plump demon said, his expression softening slightly as he cupped his hands toward the mediator, though he showed no sign of backing down.

“Rubbish! If your aberrant demon gold wasn’t of good quality, would I have paid a deposit and offered ten premium demon stones at once? You’re clearly taking advantage of my urgency to jack up the price. Only your Blue Dolphin Clan would pull such a dishonest trick!” the tall demon roared in fury.

“You dare insult my Blue Dolphin Clan? Then leave an arm behind first!” The plump demon’s face flushed with rage, his eyes gleaming with madness.

With a flick of his sleeve, a streak of cold light shot toward the tall demon’s arm, swift as lightning.

But the tall demon was prepared. With a cold snort, he flipped his palm, and a white bone shield silently materialized before him.

Just as the cold light was about to strike the shield, a blur appeared in front of the tall demon—a golden hand reaching out to snatch the light mid-air.

“Do you two really want to attract the city’s law enforcers? I’m also interested in this aberrant demon gold. Let me take a look.”

The figure was none other than Han Li, now radiating the powerful aura of a Void Refinement cultivator. The surrounding demons paled at the sensation.

“Senior, you mean…” The tall demon hesitated, reluctant to give up.

“What? Do you want to compete with me for this demon gold?” Han Li said coolly without turning his head, his spiritual pressure bearing down on the tall demon.

“Thud! Thud!”

The Black Hoof Tribe demon staggered back several steps, his face purpling with shock. “I wouldn’t dare!” he stammered before turning and fleeing in disgrace.

The other onlookers, under Han Li’s sharp gaze, also scattered silently, not daring to linger.

“Senior, do you need this demon gold? If so, you can have it for the original price of ten demon stones,” the plump demon said, his earlier ferocity gone, forcing a smile as he obediently offered the item.

“Hmph, what are you afraid of? If it’s something I need, do you think I’d shortchange you?” Han Li snorted, flicking his sleeve to draw the black-and-white ore into his hand for closer inspection.

“Of course not, Senior! I wouldn’t dare think that way!” the plump demon replied, slightly relieved but still deferential.

This was understandable—given Han Li’s terrifying display, killing him would be effortless. He’d rather lose the aberrant demon gold than offend a Void Refinement expert.

Han Li ignored him, turning the ore over in his hands repeatedly. Though his eyes gleamed with interest, his face remained impassive.

After a full tea’s time, Han Li finally looked up. With a flash of green light, the ore vanished, replaced by a small black sword, which he tossed to the plump demon.

“Don’t say I bullied you. This flying sword counts as a top-tier demonic tool—more than enough for this demon gold. But tell me, where did you get it?”
