As a former existence from the Immortal Realm, the shadowy figure was well aware of the might of the Dazzling Light Heavenly Crystal Tower. Sensing the imminent danger, a desperate resolve surged within him. Biting the tip of his tongue, he spat out several globules of vital essence blood.
The moment these globules left his mouth, they transformed with a thunderous roar into raging crimson flames, which then flickered and morphed into several fiery serpents, each over a hundred feet long. With fangs bared and claws outstretched, they lunged toward the crystalline ice tower.
The shadowy figure knew that if these serpents, catalyzed by his Immortal Realm secret technique, could delay the ice tower even slightly, the Blooddrop Poria Flower would be able to dissolve the earlier frost sealing and unleash its full power.
At that point, even the Dazzling Light Heavenly Crystal Tower would be unable to suppress the fully unleashed Blooddrop Poria Flower.
However, his desperate move seemed to have fallen precisely into the white-robed elder’s calculations.
With a cold sneer, the blue orb atop the ice tower suddenly spun on its own, emitting a piercing shriek as several thumb-thick beams of blue light shot forth. In a flash, they struck the fiery serpents like lightning.
A series of sizzling sounds erupted.
The blue beams contained some terrifying power, and the seemingly ferocious serpents were instantly extinguished, dissipating into wisps of green smoke.
The shadowy figure’s expression changed drastically. Before he could unleash another technique, he was out of time.
The towering ice tower, already hundreds of feet tall, descended with a vast expanse of cold light, crushing both the enormous blood-red flower and the shadowy figure beneath it in an instant.
The crystalline surface of the tower shimmered with an eerie glow as countless golden runes surged from each layer, raining down like a storm.
The spectacle was nothing short of awe-inspiring!
At the same time, the upper half of the white-robed elder’s figure materialized clearly atop the tower. Without hesitation, he barked a sharp command:
“What are you fools still standing around for? Activate the Demon-Sealing Grand Formation immediately and assist me in sealing away our clan’s greatest enemy!”
His words were naturally directed at the eight Sacred Spirits, who had been trembling like startled birds moments earlier.
Now, seeing the ice tower suppress the self-destructing Blooddrop Poria Flower, they were overjoyed. At the elder’s command, they snapped back to their senses and immediately flew back to their positions in streaks of light.
In the blink of an eye, the eight Sacred Spirits reappeared around the formation, each holding a formation disk and channeling their power.
Instantly, runes surged within the formation, and the previously scattered chains of runes solidified once more, weaving around the ice tower like a colossal net, ensnaring everything below.
Meanwhile, the massive ice tower pulsed with a resonant hum, expanding and contracting as it grew even larger.
Layer upon layer of translucent profound ice rapidly formed across its surface.
Below, the formation flashed wildly in response, as if resonating with the tower.
Within mere breaths, the ice tower had transformed into an unimaginable peak of ice, thousands of feet tall, freezing the entire formation and the multicolored chains of runes together.
Naturally, the shadowy figure and the enormous blood-red flower were trapped at the core of this frozen prison.
Seeing this, the eight Sacred Spirits finally exhaled in relief, their faces alight with ecstatic triumph.
Yet the white-robed elder’s expression remained grim. He issued an uncompromising order to the eight below:
“Listen well. Though I have used my true form to seal this great enemy, the Blooddrop Poria Flower is a rare bloom from the Immortal Realm. It will likely take over ten thousand years to gradually neutralize its power. Until then, you must not disturb this peak in the slightest, nor can my spirit stray too far from my true form. Otherwise, the consequences will be dire! To ensure absolute security, you must immediately set up additional sealing formations around this area, adding another layer of protection over my true form and the Demon-Sealing Formation. Only then can we be certain of success. Once I have fully neutralized the Blooddrop Poria Flower, we can move the ice peak to the Netherworld Earthfire, where we can slowly refine the true soul into a pill. During this time, when I cannot be distracted, all clan affairs will be decided by the Elder Council. We must ensure our clan survives this demonic tribulation! Once we endure this calamity, our clan’s rise to glory will be within reach.”
“As you command, Spirit King!” The eight Sacred Spirits immediately knelt and responded with utmost reverence.
With that, they retracted their formation disks, their bodies glowing as they transformed into streaks of light, dispersing to carry out their orders.
In the blink of an eye, only the white-robed elder remained, a solitary figure atop the ice peak.
“You truly believe this incomplete Dazzling Light Heavenly Crystal Tower can seal me? Once I exhaust its cold energy, let’s see what you’ll use to suppress me then!”
A low, thunderous roar erupted from beneath the ice peak.
“Hmph, as expected of someone descended from the Upper Realm. You recognized the incompleteness of my true form at a glance. But even so, do you still think you’re an Immortal with boundless powers? At your current level of cultivation, exhausting the cold energy of my true form is nothing but a pipe dream. Though I must admit, your true soul’s strength remains formidable—to still be able to speak under such suppression. But your lucidity won’t last much longer.” The white-robed elder glanced down at the base of the ice peak and snorted.
“What do you mean by that? I refuse to believe this lower realm has any means to seal even my consciousness!” The shadowy figure’s voice darkened slightly, but his tone was thick with disbelief.
“Indeed, the methods of the lower realm can hardly fully seal a true soul’s power. But what if the method I’m using isn’t from the lower realm?”
The white-robed elder sneered, then raised a hand and made a grasping motion in the air. A talisman emitting threads of cold light materialized eerily between his fingers.
This talisman was also crystalline and translucent, as if forged from ice, but its surface was densely inscribed with golden runes.
Had Han Li been present, he would have instantly recognized these as the golden seal script unique to the Immortal Realm.
“A pity to use this now. It means one less trump card for future battles.”
The white-robed elder’s face twitched with reluctance as he gazed at the talisman. But after muttering to himself, he gritted his teeth and flicked his wrist.
With a resonant hum, the talisman transformed into a ball of golden light and shot toward the ice peak below.
In a flash, the golden light vanished into the ice as if incorporeal.
The elder then formed hand seals, chanting solemnly under his breath.
Within the ice peak, a golden halo as radiant as the sun emerged, spinning rapidly before condensing into a colossal rune the size of an acre. Glowing brilliantly, it silently descended like a meteor.
“What are you— No! That’s the ‘Mystic Sealing Spirit Talisman’! You still have an Immortal Realm talisman?!” The shadowy figure beneath the ice peak sensed the anomaly and cried out in alarm.
But the massive golden rune vanished in a flash, embedding itself into the formation below.
A deafening boom!
The shadowy figure’s voice was abruptly cut off, plunging the area into silence.
The elder showed no surprise. Instead, his incantations grew even more urgent.
The next moment, the entire ice peak trembled as golden patterns surged forth, writhing until they coalesced into a colossal rune that glowed brilliantly upon a smooth ice wall.
The white light emanating from the ice peak now carried threads of blue, and the faint chill it exuded intensified severalfold.
Only then did the elder cease his chanting, his expression easing slightly.
Had one been able to peer into the depths of the ice peak, they would have seen a handsome golden-robed youth lying unconscious, his body encased in chains of runes and layers of crystalline ice.
Upon his brow now rested a golden mark identical to the rune on the ice wall.
After scanning the sealed depths with his divine sense, the white-robed elder burst into triumphant laughter. With a flicker, his figure vanished into the ice peak.
Unbeknownst to this mighty Spirit Clan elder, at the exact moment the golden-robed youth fell unconscious, in a distant and utterly unfathomable realm, a dark-faced Taoist meditating beneath an ancient tree suddenly stirred and opened his eyes.
“What’s happening? Which of my fellow disciples has met with misfortune? The True Soul Tablet is reacting so violently.”
Muttering to himself, the Taoist flicked his sleeve, releasing a flash of green light. A miniature pavilion, just a few inches tall, flew out and expanded midair into a structure over ten feet tall.
The dark-faced Taoist calmly stepped inside.
Within the pavilion’s grand hall stood hundreds of pristine white jade tables, each bearing a dozen or so identical yellow wooden tablets inscribed with intricate silver patterns.
The Taoist’s gaze swept across the tables before his brows furrowed slightly. A trace of surprise flickered across his face as he raised a hand toward a rusted cauldron in the corner.
With a whoosh, a yellow wooden tablet flew out from within and landed steadily in his palm.
“So it’s this one’s true soul in peril. If that’s the case, we cannot ignore it. We must locate him at once!”
Staring at the faintly glowing tablet in his hand, the Taoist first looked stunned, then his expression shifted unpredictably.
…
Han Li hovered motionless in the sky as seventy-two streaks of cyan light flashed before him, instantly shredding the dozens of black demonic beasts charging toward him into a bloody rain.
Yet more beasts surged from all directions, their bodies covered in scales and heads crowned with single horns.
The cyan sword lights retracted, swirling into a blooming lotus of blades.
Wherever the cyan light passed, the demonic beasts were bisected without resistance.
The stench of blood quickly saturated the air.
The sharpness of the Emerald Swarm Sword was beyond anything these low-tier demonic beasts could withstand.
Yet the beasts showed no fear of death, roaring as they swarmed forward in endless waves.
Han Li’s lips twitched as he let out a helpless sigh.
