Chapter 2004: Black Sun

The golden light sphere appeared small at first glance, but the moment it was unleashed, it shimmered and transformed back into a massive vortex, descending to envelop the burly man’s head.

An invisible, tremendous force surged from within, pressing the man’s body downward, causing the surrounding space to distort slightly before erupting with a thunderous hum, as if on the verge of explosion.

The demonic man’s face flushed an unnatural crimson, and his body trembled slightly under the terrifying force of the vortex. Yet, he did not collapse under the pressure. Instead, a fierce glint flashed in his eyes as he let out a furious roar.

Instantly, his blood-red armor erupted with blinding crimson flames, and an overwhelming aura radiated from his body.

Wherever the crimson flames passed, the nearby space melted into deep blackness, and the invisible force pressing down on him was forcibly repelled.

The man straightened his body abruptly and slowly reached out to grasp the void.

With a *bang*!

The three-headed demonic lion above his head exploded into a cloud of black mist, which swirled into his hand and condensed into a ten-foot-long black demonic spear.

The spear gleamed with an eerie black glow, its tip splitting into three prongs, each engraved with a ferocious lion’s head and covered in intricate deep-blue spirit patterns.

A savage grin twisted the man’s face as he flicked his wrist, sending the spear shooting forth with a piercing shriek.

A black streak flashed, and the spear instantly vanished into the center of the vortex.

A bizarre scene unfolded—the seemingly mighty golden vortex shattered with a muffled *crack* the moment the black spear disappeared, dispersing into motes of spiritual light.

The demonic man clenched his hand again, and as black mist coiled, the demonic spear reappeared. Without hesitation, he hurled it once more.

This time, the black spear’s target was none other than the momentarily stunned three-headed golden ape in the air.

In the blink of an eye, the spear reappeared right before the ape’s face.

Startled, the golden ape instinctively swung its six arms through the air, summoning six gleaming golden weapons into its grasp. With a simultaneous motion, it smashed them toward the black spear like six streaks of golden light.

A deafening explosion shook the earth!

Golden light and black mist clashed violently before dissipating together.

The ape’s pupils contracted at the sight, but before it could react further, the man below laughed and repeated his motion—grabbing and throwing another identical demonic spear.

The ape snorted coldly, its six arms brandishing the golden weapons once more, only to meet the same fate as before—mutual annihilation with the black spear.

This time, the man paused briefly in surprise, his movements freezing momentarily.

Seizing the opportunity, the ape let out a low growl and hurled its six golden weapons into the air.

Its three heads chanted in unison.

With a *whoosh*, the six weapons erupted with blinding golden light, countless phantom copies flickering into existence—multiplying from one to ten, then to a hundred, and finally into thousands of golden illusions that rained down like a storm.

The sky roared with the sound of rushing wind, filled entirely with flashing golden light.

The demonic man’s expression darkened, but he showed no panic. Instead, a cold smirk curled his lips as he opened his mouth and spat out a sphere of purple light.

The purple sphere spun mid-air before bursting apart, releasing countless luminous threads that wove into an enormous net, rising to meet the golden onslaught.

The golden phantoms crashed into the net like a tempest, triggering an unending series of explosions.

Golden light and purple mist intertwined violently, causing the entire net to tremble and flicker as if on the verge of tearing apart.

Yet the man below paid no heed, instead chanting rapidly while his fingers danced through the air like a windmill. With each motion, the crimson flames around his body dimmed slightly, while the net above swelled in size.

Within moments, the net expanded several times over, transforming into an endless expanse of purple clouds.

With a wave of the man’s hand, the clouds surged like a whirlwind, swallowing all the golden phantoms before condensing back into a purple sphere that descended toward him.

The man caught the sphere with a single motion, but when he glanced upward again, his face turned icy.

The sky was now empty—the three-headed, six-armed golden ape had vanished without a trace.

Before the man could react, a spatial ripple emerged behind him, and a golden beast claw materialized out of nowhere.

The claw swelled instantly to a colossal size, slamming down toward the man like a falling mountain. The air screamed as each talon resembled a massive golden blade, capable of cleaving through anything in its path.

The man snorted disdainfully, his palm erupting with bloody flames as he reached back to meet the golden claw head-on.

Despite the vast disparity in size, his hand expanded a hundredfold upon contact.

*Bang*!

The golden claw shattered instantly upon collision, unable to withstand the overwhelming force. Simultaneously, a faint golden shadow was flung backward—revealing a small, golden beast no more than a few feet in size, yet radiating the aura of a Harmonious Spirit cultivator.

It was Han Li’s Leopard Kirin Beast.

Unbeknownst to the man, Han Li had stealthily released the beast to ambush him, though the attack had failed.

As the beast was repelled, a silver streak shot from the man’s side, coiling around his body like a whip.

A spatial ripple followed, and the three-headed, six-armed ape reappeared in the same spot.

The moment it materialized, its cold gaze flashed, and its six weapons transformed into golden streaks, raining down upon the man.

At the same time, its three heads spat out three silver flames, which morphed into firebirds that dove toward the man with outstretched wings.

The demonic man narrowed his eyes but remained unshaken. His body flared with bloody light, and the silver bindings shattered into pieces. His hand blurred as black mist surged, reforming the black spear in his grip.

With a flick of his wrist, the spear shot toward the ape—but mid-flight, it multiplied into nine identical copies.

Six spears veered to intercept the golden streaks, while the remaining three targeted the silver flames.

*Thud! Thud! Thud!*

The golden streaks and silver flames were obliterated one after another.

Han Li, in his ape form, recoiled in shock, his arms instinctively crossing in defense as black mist roiled around them.

*Boom*!

A black spear materialized from seemingly empty space, striking his arms with devastating force.

Black runes surged across his limbs as two dark gauntlets manifested, only to shatter upon contact with the spear.

The ape exhaled in relief.

But the demonic man, still standing motionless, suddenly smirked and uttered a bone-chilling word:

“*Annihilate.*”

Where the black spear had vanished, a miniature half-foot-long spear silently shot forth—undetected even by Han Li’s immense spiritual sense.

Before he could react, the tiny spear pierced his bare arms and detonated.

A black sun-like halo erupted, expanding to over a thousand feet in an instant, swallowing the ape’s massive form.

The golden ape’s radiance flickered once before being completely consumed by the inky darkness.

The black sun continued to expand, its demonic energy churning as it devoured everything in its path, grinding all into dust.

The demonic man laughed triumphantly.

“Hahaha! No one has ever survived my Nine Demon Mother-Spear. Human brat, you should be proud to have forced me to use this technique!”

As his laughter echoed, the black sun finally began to shrink and dissipate.

But when the man glanced at where the ape had stood, his laughter died abruptly, replaced by disbelief.

“Impossible! How can this be?!” he stammered, his voice trembling.

In the void, a golden sphere hovered motionlessly.

Within its radiant glow stood the golden ape, a five-colored phoenix, and a silver-white roc.

The ape pressed its hands against the golden light, channeling streams of pale golden energy into it.

Though the phoenix and roc remained still, their five-colored radiance and silver lightning surged outward, forming two additional protective barriers around the golden sphere.

Yet all three creatures—the ape, phoenix, and roc—bore vacant, lifeless expressions, as if mere puppets.

Horrified, the man frantically scanned his surroundings, searching for any sign of Han Li—but found nothing.

With a cold snort, he raised his hand and summoned a shadowy figure to his side—the ghostly entity that had earlier battled the Vajra Body.

As the black mist around it dispersed, the creature’s true form was revealed:

A charred wooden puppet, pitch-black and inscribed with countless gold and silver runes.

Its face was ghastly, with fanged teeth and grotesquely elongated limbs, its eyes glowing with a sinister crimson light.
