Chapter 1947: Siege of the Stone Spirit

The Black Rain Venerable and the monk naturally wouldn’t allow this spiritual creature to escape so easily!

The old man immediately activated his treasure with a sudden burst of energy, causing the giant bell to tremble violently as a wave of silver sound waves surged downward with overwhelming force.

Meanwhile, the monk flipped his palm, and a flash of spiritual light revealed a pristine white jade-like formation disk. With a few rapid taps of his fingers, a series of rumbling sounds erupted near the pit as countless glowing formations emerged. At the same time, waves of restrictive fluctuations surged forth like a tidal wave, instantly weaving into a massive net that blocked the creature’s retreat.

But that wasn’t all—above these restrictions, the cry of a phoenix echoed, and three crimson flames flickered into existence, revealing three fiery birds. Without hesitation, they opened their mouths and spewed forth three blazing pillars of fire, which instantly transformed into a fiery cloud that enveloped the stone spirit.

From another direction, the translucent blue scorpion suddenly appeared, its azure stinger lashing out silently with a streak of venomous blue light.

In the blink of an eye, the Huangliang Stone Spirit was once again plunged into peril!

However, this seemed to have thoroughly enraged the creature. Golden light swirled across its body as it let out a strange cry, and its third blood-red eye on its forehead suddenly widened, unleashing a blinding white radiance like a scorching sun—so intense that it was impossible to look at directly!

The Black Rain Venerable and the monk, who were in the midst of attacking the stone spirit, instinctively shut their eyes. When they reopened them, their expressions changed drastically.

Within a sea of yellow flames, the sky and ground were engulfed in rolling fire. Though the flames appeared fierce, they carried an eerie, bone-chilling coldness.

“Yellow Spring Earthfire! No—this is an illusion!”

The Black Rain Venerable’s face darkened as he blurted out in shock. But he was no ordinary man, and he quickly regained his composure—though his expression remained grim.

Before setting out, he had heard that the Huangliang Stone Spirit possessed terrifying innate illusion techniques capable of trapping even Unity-stage beings. Yet he never expected them to be so overwhelming, ensnaring him without the slightest warning.

And worst of all, the illusion had conjured the most troublesome of all—the Yellow Spring Earthfire!

Having lived amidst earthfire for countless millennia, the stone spirit had perfected its illusions to an unparalleled degree. Escaping by spotting flaws in the illusion would be no easy task. It seemed the only way out was to forcibly break through with brute strength.

As the old man swiftly summoned several black shields to protect himself, he contemplated this grimly.

Meanwhile, when the monk opened his eyes, he found himself in a gray, misty void. The Black Rain Venerable and the other spirit beasts were nowhere to be seen. Instead, floating hundreds of feet away was a colossal golden creature, towering thousands of feet tall.

The beast resembled a toad, but from its head to its back ran a row of seven golden eyes, all staring at the monk with an emotionless gaze. The aura emanating from its massive body was terrifying, suffocating even.

“Seven-Eyed Golden Toad…”

The monk murmured, his face paling. But after reciting a Buddhist chant, his expression hardened with resolve. He reached out with both hands, and in a flash of spiritual light, a golden dragon-headed staff and a silver alms bowl materialized.

Not only had the old man and the monk suddenly frozen in place, but the three firebirds also ceased their flames, their eyes filled with panic as they flapped their wings frantically—similarly trapped in the illusion.

Only the translucent blue scorpion, for reasons unknown, remained unaffected by the stone spirit’s third-eye radiance, continuing to unleash venomous blue strikes.

But without the others’ support, the Huangliang Stone Spirit easily dodged the scorpion’s attacks after spewing demonic flames to counter the earlier assault. With a furious glare at the scorpion, it suddenly transformed into a golden streak and dove straight toward the restrictions below.

The creature was intelligent enough to know that now was not the time to engage in battle—its safest option was to retreat underground.

Yet before it could collide with the restrictions, it suddenly opened its mouth and spat out a series of yellow orbs, each the size of a human head.

The orbs vanished in a flash before violently striking a section of the restrictions.

A series of explosions erupted as blinding yellow light burst forth, shaking the restrictions to the point of collapse.

Delighted, the stone spirit spat out another volley of orbs, aiming to shatter the restrictions completely.

But at that moment, a figure flickered above the restrictions, and a faint green light silently materialized, transforming into a young man in a blue robe.

The youth grinned at the stone spirit, revealing a row of white teeth, before flicking his sleeve and sending forth a silver ruler. In a blur, countless ruler shadows materialized, slicing through all the incoming orbs with a single strike.

This was none other than Han Li, who had remained hidden until now.

The stone spirit’s illusion had primarily targeted the Black Rain Venerable and the monk, so while Han Li had been slightly affected, his formidable spiritual power allowed him to break free effortlessly. With a teleportation, he appeared above the restrictions in an instant.

The stone spirit, on the verge of breaking through, was now blocked by a new enemy—its fury was palpable.

“Whoosh!”

Yellow flames erupted from the creature’s body, surging toward Han Li with overwhelming force.

These were the frigid demonic flames it had cultivated underground for millennia.

“Perfect timing!”

Han Li chuckled at the approaching flames, unfazed. With a flip of his hand, a small black mountain appeared.

A single tap caused it to expand to over thirty feet tall!

As Han Li activated his spell, silver runes shimmered across the mountain’s surface, and a swirling vortex of gray light formed in midair, expanding and contracting unpredictably.

When the yellow flames collided with the vortex, a thunderous roar erupted before they were sucked inside.

The vortex swelled slightly but otherwise remained unaffected.

The stone spirit’s eyes flickered with unease as it let out a shrill cry.

“Boom!”

A deafening explosion erupted from the vortex, shattering it into pieces as yellow flames burst forth, transforming into a blazing toad that lunged at Han Li.

Before it even reached him, waves of extreme cold surged forth, chilling to the very soul.

Han Li frowned slightly.

This demonic fire was indeed troublesome, but he was far from intimidated. With a cold glint in his eyes, he raised a hand and made a grasping motion toward the fire toad.

“Thud!”

Five-colored light swirled in the air as a massive white hand wreathed in five-colored cold flames materialized, seizing the toad in an instant.

With a crushing grip, the hand’s fingers tightened.

“Rip!”

The toad burst apart, reverting to raging flames that tried to engulf the hand.

But the five-colored cold flames were no ordinary fire, and they resisted the yellow flames fiercely.

Meanwhile, Han Li tapped the black mountain before him.

With a tremble, it vanished into thin air.

The next moment, space rippled above the stone spirit as the black mountain reappeared, pressing down mercilessly while gray light cascaded downward.

The stone spirit felt an immense weight crush its body, slowing its movements drastically.

Enraged, it struggled futilely before spitting out a small, milky-yellow orb—its demon core, nurtured since birth.

The orb spun above its head, repelling the crushing force, before countless yellow fire serpents erupted from it, each stretching dozens of feet long as they lunged upward.

The clash of yellow flames and gray light halted the black mountain’s descent.

But at that moment, Han Li, still below, narrowed his eyes. With a hand seal, thunder crackled behind him as crystalline wings unfurled. A single flap sent him vanishing in a silver arc.

The stone spirit, having just dodged another blue strike from the scorpion, turned with a vicious glare—only for lightning to flash behind it as Han Li reappeared, wreathed in electricity.

Panicked, the stone spirit instinctively activated its third eye, but Han Li was prepared.

With a cold snort, he shut his eyes—only for a black light to flash between his brows as his Destruction Dharma Eye opened.

A black streak shot forth, striking the stone spirit’s third eye and extinguishing its glow.

At the same time, the stone spirit’s mind was struck by a thunderous pain, so intense it staggered midair, nearly collapsing.
