Chapter 1904: Myriad Manifestations of the Demon Rider

“These are the Myriad Phantom Riders—the rumors were true! Although the demonic forces attacking our Tianyuan City are mostly low-tier demon beasts, the ones dispatched to sweep other nearby strongholds are their true elite forces. Most of these demonic riders only have cultivation levels around the Golden Core or Nascent Soul stage, but through a demonic symbiotic technique with their mounts, their combat prowess multiplies severalfold. Our human cultivators of the same rank stand no chance against them. Even Deity Transformation or Void Refinement experts would have to flee if surrounded by large numbers of these riders. Moreover, I’ve heard these elite demonic forces excel in joint formation techniques. Once they deploy a formation of ten thousand riders or more, even beings like us would find it a formidable challenge. There are over a hundred thousand Myriad Phantom Riders here—no wonder Yitian City is so desperate for our aid.” Silverlight Fairy’s eyes flickered with intensity as she spoke, her tone grave.

“The most troublesome might not be these Myriad Phantom Riders, but those things!” Han Li’s lips twitched as he suddenly pointed toward a group of demons near some black warships, his words laden with meaning.

These demons, far fewer in number than the riders, wore armor but had the lower bodies of beasts and the upper bodies of humans, each with three distinct heads and six arms. Their central heads resembled ordinary humans—either male or female, strikingly beautiful or alluring—but the other two heads were grotesque, like fiends from the abyss. Their six arms wielded different weapons, and their bodies radiated terrifying bloodlust, forming shadowy, gray-glowing silhouettes behind them. Upon closer inspection, these silhouettes took the form of ferocious, snarling beasts—some towering hundreds of feet tall, others merely dozens of feet.

These bizarre demons stood expressionless, their gazes icy, as if devoid of any emotion.

“Jialun War Demons! It’s actually these mad fiends. Even though there are only a few thousand, Yitian City is in serious trouble.” Silverlight Fairy inhaled sharply upon recognizing them.

“I suspect the fall of Yitian City’s two Grand Elders is closely tied to these Jialun War Demons,” Han Li said slowly, his expression equally grave.

“The infamy of the Jialun War Demons precedes them. I’ve heard they rank among the top five of the demonic elite forces. If those two fallen comrades were indeed entangled by these war demons and then ambushed by other demonic Venerables, escape would have been nearly impossible. Still, I’d like to witness their true power firsthand.” Silverlight Fairy’s initial shock faded as she gazed at the distant demonic horde, murmuring thoughtfully.

“If you wish to see them in action, that’s hardly difficult,” Han Li chuckled, nodding toward the demonic army.

Almost simultaneously, the densely packed black warships emitted a deafening hum. Then, with flashes of light, countless black beams shot forth, bombarding Yitian City’s massive walls.

A thunderous roar erupted!

Despite the city’s battered walls, colorful arrays flared to life, forming shimmering barriers that deflected the devastating beams. Black suns exploded against the arrays, unleashing shockwaves that darkened the sky.

Then, earth-shaking war drums boomed from the warships. A hundred colossal demon beasts—each resembling a gargantuan black rhinoceros—charged forth, their massive frames threatening to crush the city walls under sheer momentum.

Simultaneously, swarms of low-tier demon beasts poured from other warships, surging forward like a tide behind the super beasts.

The air filled with demonic energy and the roars of countless beasts.

Rows of human warriors appeared atop Yitian City’s walls, unleashing volleys of fireballs, ice spikes, and wind blades. The frontlines of the demonic horde faltered under the assault, thousands falling as blood rained or charred corpses littered the ground.

Yet the rhinoceros-like super beasts pressed on, their bodies encased in thick yellow barriers that shrugged off attacks effortlessly. Reaching the walls, they lowered their obsidian horns, unleashing hundreds of shrill shrieks as black halos materialized—then vanished. The next instant, spatial distortions rippled along the city walls as the halos reappeared, slashing through defensive arrays like paper and carving deep fissures into the stone.

Human warriors caught in the fissures vanished without a trace.

Panic spread among nearby defenders, but before they could flee, streaks of yellow light sliced through them—decapitating deserters on the spot.

“Deserters die! Defiers die! Cowards die!” Three icy declarations echoed across the walls as blood-armored Nascent Soul cultivators materialized, orbited by five yellow crystal spheres each.

Terrified into compliance, the human warriors redoubled their attacks, forcing the super beasts to halt under the barrage.

Meanwhile, arcane chants rose from the city. Deep-blue arrays flared behind the walls, unleashing thunderous blue lightning that wove into massive nets, crashing down on the demonic horde.

Super beasts roared as their defenses shattered under the electric onslaught, their hides scorched—yet none fell. Enraged, they unleashed more black halos, collapsing entire sections of the wall and exposing rows of pale-faced human reserves.

A piercing shriek erupted from a black warship, dripping with bloodlust. The hovering demonic riders stirred, their mounts and bodies erupting with inky demonic energy. The sky darkened as they advanced in intricate formations, a living black ocean.

Purple beams shot from the warships, healing the super beasts in moments. With renewed frenzy, they charged the breaches, their low-tier kin surging behind them.

Yitian City’s defenses teetered on the brink.

Then—light flashed at the breaches. Groups of human cultivators appeared, clutching formation disks and banners. With frantic gestures, they summoned colossal bricks from above, sealing the gaps in moments.

The battle raged on.
