“The Ghostly Heaven Sect and the Mother-Child True Demon Banner! Aren’t these two of the Ten Great Demon Artifacts of our Spirit Realm?” Upon hearing these names, Han Li’s expression shifted slightly as he asked with some surprise.
“Brother Han, be careful. Most of the Ten Great Demon Artifacts in our Spirit Realm are imitations of renowned treasures from the Demon Realm. The two artifacts in the hands of these demons are likely even stronger than our Spirit Realm’s Ten Great Demon Artifacts. Since they possess such treasures, it seems they won’t be easily subdued. Perhaps we should ignore them and leave immediately. I doubt they’d be willing to risk their lives to stop us.” Silverlight Fairy quickly warned Han Li, hesitantly suggesting retreat.
Clearly, upon seeing the newly appeared demons wielding such powerful treasures, she felt their chances of victory were slim and began considering withdrawal.
“It’s too late. We still have a long way to Yitian City. If we let these two demons escape, the rest of our journey won’t be peaceful. As long as you can distract one of them for me, I’ll deal with them one by one.” Han Li transmitted his voice slowly, his tone leaving no room for doubt.
Silverlight Fairy naturally understood the logic in Han Li’s words. Though startled, she also felt a flicker of joy. After a brief moment of thought, she nodded and replied via voice transmission, “Since Brother Han is confident of victory, I’ll do my best to assist. In a moment, I’ll use a treasure to trap one of them, while the other will be left to you.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Silverlight Fairy’s fingers moved like a spinning wheel, forming a rapid series of hand seals. The silver mask on her face suddenly glowed brilliantly, revealing densely packed golden runes that started as small as grains of rice but quickly spread across the entire mask.
With a sharp cry, the silver mask twisted and abruptly detached from her face.
With a flicker in the wind, a massive female head, about ten feet tall, appeared before her. The face shimmered with silver light, adorned with golden hair several feet long, and its eyes were tightly shut.
“Attack!”
The bald-headed demon on the opposite side, seeing this, flashed a cold glint in his eyes and roared without hesitation. Biting the tip of his tongue, he spat out a mass of black, filthy blood, which transformed into a bloody mist that enveloped the green ghostly gate.
Having witnessed Han Li’s overwhelming power in killing the horned elder, this demon no longer held any underestimation. The moment he struck, he was willing to expend his vital essence to activate his most prized treasure.
As the bloody mist covered the green gate, the two enormous ghostly faces engraved on its surface suddenly came to life, their eyes turning red. Opening their mouths, they inhaled all the bloody mist in an instant.
The rust-covered gate instantly turned blood-red, and a strange, pungent odor filled the air.
The two ghostly faces threw back their heads and let out piercing shrieks before lunging outward, revealing half of their monstrous bodies up to their waists.
Another bizarre change occurred!
The two ghosts twisted their bodies, each extending a thick arm to grab the black door rings on either side of the gate. With a mighty pull, the gate emitted a deep hum and began to inch open.
Though only a crack appeared, a chilling wind and the cacophony of wailing ghosts surged forth, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle.
Meanwhile, the blue-marked demon on the other side also acted the moment his companion shouted “Attack!”
Unlike the bald demon, he formed a single hand seal, causing the hundred crystalline flying snakes to hiss fiercely, their eyes gleaming with malice as they spewed blue cold mist, enveloping themselves entirely.
Then, with another mental command, the thirteen demon banners trembled, releasing billowing black smoke. The banners spun rapidly, transforming into thirteen pale-white skeletons, each as tall as an ordinary person, their eyes glowing with eerie crimson light. Twisting their bodies, they opened their mouths and emitted enchanting female laughter.
The laughter, varying in volume, was unnervingly bizarre. Even Han Li felt his spiritual sense momentarily freeze, his head spinning slightly.
But an even stranger sight unfolded!
The thirteen skeletons abruptly ceased their laughter and, accompanied by gusts of chilling wind, lunged toward the blue-marked demon himself.
Unfazed, the demon let out a low shout and flicked his sleeve, releasing thirteen blood-red pills the size of eggs.
These pills seemed irresistibly alluring to the skeletons. The moment they saw them, they changed direction, snapping their jaws to devour the pills—one per skeleton.
As the pills entered their bodies, bloody light erupted from the skeletons, and they began to dance wildly in the demonic mist, their laughter resuming as if overcome with joy.
Then, with a twist of their waists, the bloody light coiled around them, forming layers of flesh and blood over their bones.
In an instant, thirteen half-naked, bewitching demonesses stood before the group, each swaying gracefully and murmuring seductively.
Han Li’s pupils contracted slightly at the sight.
“Go!”
The blue-marked demon scowled, forming a hand seal and pointing sharply at Han Li.
The thirteen demonesses’ expressions turned fierce as they raised their hands, revealing inch-long claws, and lunged at Han Li.
Simultaneously, the hundred blue flying snakes flapped their wings, absorbing the surrounding cold mist and transforming into massive ice spears, shooting forth like arrows.
A flash of green light crossed Han Li’s face as he flicked his sleeve without a word, releasing seventy-two golden small swords that darted out like fish. They lengthened into three-foot-long flying swords before blurring and multiplying into hundreds of sword shadows.
With a sharp hiss, the sword shadows shot forward, transforming into golden threads that met the incoming ice spears head-on.
Meanwhile, the silver firebird let out a clear cry, spreading its wings and charging forth as a massive fireball, targeting the thirteen demonesses.
Han Li and the demon clashed instantly.
On the other side, as the massive ghostly gate slowly opened, Silverlight Fairy gritted her teeth and struck.
The floating silver female head before her slowly opened its eyes under her command, revealing a pair of eerie golden pupils.
As its eyes opened, the head parted its lips slightly and spat out a cluster of crystalline threads.
Initially unremarkable, the threads flickered and instantly expanded into a colossal net, descending like a tidal wave.
The bald demon, fully focused on activating the gate, stiffened at the sight. Without hesitation, he pointed at the dense array of black shields before him.
The shields glowed black and rapidly enlarged, forming a seamless barrier of translucent shield shadows.
A faint black semicircular light screen materialized above the demon, covering both him and the ghostly gate.
Silverlight Fairy’s lips curled slightly, not in anger but in satisfaction. She immediately intensified her spell.
The massive net descended, trapping the black light screen, the bald demon, and the gate within.
The crystalline threads shimmered, blurring into a thick, solid crystal dome that firmly sealed everything beneath it.
Then, Silverlight Fairy pointed at the silver head before her.
The head’s golden eyes flashed, and the golden runes on its face brightened before shooting out as specks of golden light, embedding themselves into the crystal dome.
The transparent dome instantly became adorned with intricate golden patterns.
The silver head stared intently at the dome, its golden eyes blazing.
The golden patterns on the dome writhed and shifted, transforming within moments into a massive golden array embedded within the crystal.
Only then did Silverlight Fairy exhale deeply, a genuine smile appearing on her face.
Below, the bald demon’s expression flickered, but he soon sneered and redoubled his efforts, channeling more power into the ghostly gate.
With a thunderous boom, the blood-red gate finally swung fully open.
The two half-bodied demons on the gate let out triumphant howls, while the ghostly wails from within abruptly ceased. Only an icy, bone-chilling wind howled forth.
But this lasted only briefly before a shadowy figure emerged silently from the gate’s depths.
Silverlight Fairy’s eyes narrowed as she stared intently, only to freeze in shock.
The figure was a scholarly, exceptionally handsome youth—nothing like the legendary Heavenly Ghost!
“This is…” Silverlight Fairy’s expression twisted with confusion and suspicion.
Yet the next moment, the youth scanned his surroundings before turning to the bald demon with a faint smile. “Tsk, tsk. I didn’t expect you to have the courage to summon me again with this thing. But have you prepared the blood sacrifice this time? If it doesn’t meet my standards, you know the consequences.”
“Ghost King, spare me your nonsense! Summon the Heavenly Ghost at once. If you can kill these two, I won’t skimp on the sacrifice!”
The bald demon roared, flipping his hand to produce a blood-red longsword. With a vicious slash, he severed one of his own arms.
