Chapter 1704: Gathering the Mountains

Silver runes emerged and swirled around the black mountain peak, transforming into several black holes several feet in diameter. Inside, swirling gray light radiated, generating immense suction forces out of thin air.

Nearby yellow sand grains were swept up by the gray light, spinning uncontrollably before reverting to their original forms and surging into the black holes. In an instant, vast stretches of sand were cleared away.

The massive token trembled as ancient inscriptions flickered on its surface, then a thick gray beam shot from its tip. In a flash, the beam formed a colossal gray sword, seven to eight feet long, with the token as its hilt and the magnetic divine light as its blade.

With a single sweep of the sword, the surrounding space distorted and trembled, shattering the massive sand grains into dust. The power of this light sword was astonishing!

Though the yellow sand grains numbered in the millions, under the combined might of the two treasures, most were absorbed by the magnetic mountain, while the rest were obliterated by the sword.

The tenth barrier was finally broken, revealing the final layer—a massive scroll of blue light emerging from below.

The scroll depicted lush green mountains with countless spirit birds soaring among them, overlapping endlessly.

At the same time, the tallest peak in the scroll shimmered, and bursts of spiritual light exploded across the painting.

The multicolored bird shadows within the blue light suddenly came to life—some flapping their wings, others raising their necks in long cries—all bursting forth from the scroll.

Some of the spirit birds spat crimson fireballs, others fanned their wings to release white wind blades, while some crackled with thunder as silver arcs shot from their claws.

A torrent of attacks surged upward like a broken dam, overwhelming the space below.

Moreover, the shimmering light from the blue mountain transformed into countless invisible phantoms, striking the black mountain and gray sword before anything else.

The sheer number of these Taiyi Blue Lights far surpassed anything seen in the previous barriers. Under their assault, the gray radiance of the magnetic mountain and sword dimmed significantly, as if suppressed.

“Taiyi Blue Mountain!” Han Li exclaimed in delight, instantly recognizing the flickering peak in the scroll as the treasure he had long sought.

However, the mountain had clearly been refined into part of the scroll, its power amplified beyond expectation by the entire painting.

As he pondered this, the gray sword, reinvigorated by a shout from Shi Kun, slashed downward again.

Where the sword passed, fireballs and wind blades melted away like snow, cleaving through the flock of birds in the scroll. Hundreds of bird shadows were annihilated in an instant, but the rest transformed into multicolored flames, surging toward the sword.

A series of thunderous explosions followed. While the initial flames were repelled, the sheer volume overwhelmed the sword, forcing it to revert to its token form. With a mournful hum, it was engulfed by the flames and dragged into the scroll. The remaining flames surged toward the floating mountain in the sky.

Han Li’s heart tightened. Without hesitation, he formed a hand seal and pointed solemnly at the magnetic mountain below.

A deep, bell-like resonance echoed as the mountain swelled in size, expanding to hundreds of feet in moments. Silver runes emerged on its surface, accompanied by waves of gray light as it crashed downward.

Though the gray sword had been formidable, the sheer volume of magnetic light from the enlarged mountain was incomparable.

The multicolored flames rising from below were extinguished by the gray waves before they could even touch the mountain.

The colossal peak descended menacingly, poised to crush the scroll.

At that moment, the blue mountain in the scroll emitted a long cry. All other images—birds, flowers, trees—dissolved into pale blue light, surging into the peak.

In an instant, the mountain turned emerald green, slowly emerging from the scroll. With a tremor, its blue light condensed into countless green threads.

The Taiyi Blue Light materialized in the air, weaving into layers of green nets that shot upward.

The gray waves and green nets collided, producing an eerie metallic screech. Both mountains trembled violently, locked in a stalemate.

Han Li narrowed his eyes, channeling his spiritual power to reinforce the magnetic mountain.

But then, thunder rumbled from above as thick gray lightning bolts struck the green nets, shaking them violently.

Han Li glanced up and saw the lightning originating from the banner before Liu Shuier. Realizing the final barrier was too formidable for just him and Shi Kun, she had joined the assault.

Yet the blue mountain proved resilient. Though its Taiyi Blue Light was no match for the combined force of the magnetic mountain and lightning, it continuously released green threads to reinforce the net, barely holding on.

Despite their advantage, Han Li and Liu Shuier couldn’t immediately break the eleventh barrier. If delayed, the previous barriers would regenerate, leading to disaster.

Both knew this and intensified their attacks.

But no matter how ferocious the gray waves and lightning, the green net, sustained by the Taiyi Blue Mountain, displayed astonishing resilience, always just shy of collapse.

Their expressions darkened, but then Shi Kun made his move.

The burly man inhaled deeply, his body swelling to several feet tall. Clenching his fists, he struck them together, unleashing a surge of gray light.

His arms swung, conjuring countless fist shadows that transformed into gray orbs, bombarding the net below.

These magnetic light orbs became the final straw.

Under the combined assault of the magnetic mountain, lightning, and orbs, the green net finally shattered with a dull explosion, dissolving into specks of light.

The gray radiance, lightning, and orbs surged downward, striking the blue mountain and the scroll. The scroll flickered with blue light before crumbling into nothingness.

The eleventh barrier had fallen!

In its place, a massive hole appeared—over thirty feet in diameter—suspended in midair, its edges glowing faintly with milky light. Clearly, this was the entrance.

But while Liu Shuier and Shi Kun stared greedily at the hole, Han Li’s gaze fixed on something else—the small blue mountain still hovering above the entrance.

Deprived of the scroll’s amplification, the Taiyi Blue Mountain was now only about ten feet tall, its glow dim and flickering.

Han Li’s expression shifted. He raised his hand, and the black magnetic mountain vanished from sight.

A moment later, space rippled above the blue mountain as the magnetic peak reappeared, its base releasing a wave of gray light that enveloped the smaller peak.

The Taiyi Blue Mountain let out a mournful cry, its light flickering as it resisted the magnetic force. But weakened as it was, it stood no chance against Han Li’s full-powered assault.

Silver runes emerged in the gray light, clinging to the blue mountain like parasites.

With a final reluctant hum, the Taiyi Blue Mountain was drawn into the belly of the magnetic peak, vanishing in a flash of blue light.

A faint smile touched Han Li’s lips as he beckoned. The magnetic mountain shrank rapidly, returning to miniature size before darting into his sleeve.

His actions were so swift that by the time Liu Shuier and Shi Kun realized what had happened, the Taiyi Blue Mountain was already in his possession.

The two exchanged glances, their expressions complex.

Given their experience, they recognized the mountain’s true value. Though they harbored desires for it, Han Li’s lightning-fast seizure left them stunned.

“This treasure is of use to me,” Han Li said with a smile, glancing between them. “Given the many treasures below, I trust you won’t begrudge me taking it first?”

“Since it benefits Brother Han, by all means, keep it,” Liu Shuier replied smoothly, her smile returning.

Shi Kun’s face twitched before he forced a wry chuckle. “I had some interest in it, but since Brother Han claimed it first, I’ve nothing more to say.”
