Chapter 1479: Jingkong the Demon

An astonishing scene unfolded!

As soon as the blood orb absorbed the black-red substance, its bloody aura dissipated, replaced by an incredibly rich and peculiar fragrance.

The demonic creatures below stirred restlessly!

The higher-tier demon beasts, though greatly tempted, managed to restrain themselves. However, the lower-tier creatures, lacking higher intelligence, revealed eager expressions, some even beginning to fidget. Meanwhile, the ghost soldiers and puppets within the black wind remained utterly motionless.

Suddenly, a cold snort echoed from above.

A bone-chilling frost descended from the sky, instantly enveloping the entire area. The demons shivered violently, their fleeting desires completely extinguished.

It seemed Six-Legs had anticipated this. A terrifying spiritual pressure erupted from his body.

Han Li’s heart tightened.

Among the Body Integration-level beings he had encountered, this Six-Legs was undoubtedly the strongest.

Could he be at the peak of late-stage Body Integration?

Han Li muttered to himself, resolving to avoid any direct confrontation with this entity.

Perhaps against other demon kings, he might have a slim chance of escape, but against this one—none whatsoever.

Meanwhile, Mu Qing stood before the fragrant blood orb, chanting incantations.

Over a dozen high-tier demons shot downward in panic, as if fleeing for their lives.

Almost simultaneously, a low, rumbling thunder erupted in the void above the blood orb. Space rippled, and clusters of faint silver clouds materialized, swirling into a massive, eerie vortex.

The vortex, nearly a hundred feet in diameter, churned with silver radiance, growing brighter by the second. Violent crackling sounds echoed, as though something was about to tear through the void.

Han Li’s expression shifted. His eyes narrowed slightly, a faint blue glint flickering within.

While others might not perceive it, Han Li’s Brightsight Spirit Eyes allowed him to see clearly into the vortex.

Deep within, space itself had wrinkled like thin paper under the pressure of the silver radiance, trembling violently.

The crackling sounds were the result of this spatial distortion.

Suddenly, a crisp, shattering noise pierced through the thunderous roar. Han Li’s pupils contracted sharply.

The space within the vortex finally fractured. A flash of black light—and a furry silver arm stretched out, waving in the void. A second identical arm followed.

Two massive hands, each adorned with jet-black claws, gripped the edges of the black hole and pulled apart.

Space within a hundred-foot radius shattered into fragments!

With a mournful wail, the silver vortex collapsed into scattered starlight and vanished.

In its place, a black hole ten times larger emerged. The two giant hands rested motionless on its edges, while a single eerie green eye flickered within the abyss.

Everyone except the four demon kings gasped in shock.

Mu Qing’s expression darkened. A black light flashed beneath her feet, and she vanished from beneath the blood orb.

Moments later, she reappeared before the golden ape, her expression slightly eased.

A series of bizarre, chicken-like clucks echoed from the black hole.

Han Li blinked in surprise, but a quick glance around startled him further.

The demonic creatures below swayed unsteadily upon hearing the strange cries.

Low-tier demons collapsed weakly to the ground, while higher-tier ones struggled to stay upright.

Even the four demon kings radiated various protective auras, clearly resisting the effects.

Yet Han Li remained completely unaffected.

His immunity drew the attention of Mu Qing and the others.

The white-haired beauty let out a soft exclamation, her lips parting as if to speak. But Six-Legs coldly interjected, “No need for surprise. This man wields Golden Lightning Bamboo as his lifebound treasure and hasn’t lingered long in the Abyssal Depths. Uncontaminated by dark energy, he naturally fears not the Void Screamer’s cry.”

The beauty’s expression cleared, and she fell silent.

The two blood-robed figures and Mu Qing glanced at Han Li but said nothing.

Han Li frowned at the name “Void Screamer.”

He had never heard of such a creature, but any being capable of tearing through space was undoubtedly extraordinary. Could it be a True Spirit-level entity? Yet the four demon kings, though solemn, didn’t seem to be facing a True Spirit.

As Han Li pondered, the silver arms at the black hole’s edge retracted like lightning. The eerie eye grew clearer, and a monstrous figure slowly emerged, revealing its true form.

Han Li’s expression stiffened in shock.

The creature was a colossal silver head, dozens of feet wide, its surface lumpy and hairless. A single protruding green eye dominated its forehead, while a long mouth bristled with razor-sharp teeth. Its nose was absent—only two dark holes remained.

But what sent chills down Han Li’s spine was that the monster had no body—only the massive head, with two furry silver arms extending from where its ears should be.

“Is this the Void Screamer? Its appearance is utterly horrifying!”

Despite having encountered countless demons, Han Li was deeply unsettled. A cold sweat trickled down his back.

The monster’s lone eye swiveled, locking onto the giant blood orb with eerie intensity.

It ignored the four demon kings and the horde of creatures below, clearly drawn solely by the blood offering.

As the Void Screamer’s cries ceased, the low-tier demons cautiously rose, trembling and silent.

The four demon kings watched solemnly but calmly.

The giant head let out a low grunt, its maw gaping wide. A silver mist spewed forth, enveloping the blood orb and dragging it back.

With a *plop*, the monster swallowed the orb whole.

Instantly, its body flushed crimson, as though dyed by the blood it consumed.

A few satisfied belches later, the massive head swayed drunkenly before turning and vanishing into the black hole, disappearing without a trace.

The Void Screamer had departed just like that.

The four demon kings made no move to stop it, leaving the gaping black hole suspended in the sky.

Han Li’s eyes flickered with confusion.

At that moment, Six-Legs spoke indifferently:

“Good. With the Void Screamer’s help in tearing the spatial rift, entering the Netherworld River will be far easier. Fellow Daoist Mu, you and I shall enter first to stabilize the passage. Once the connection is secure, Earthblood and Fellow Daoist Lan’s forces may follow.”

“After you, Six-Legs. Fellow Daoist Han, Golden Spirit—you two come as well,” Mu Qing instructed without hesitation.

“Yes!” The golden ape bowed hastily.

Han Li hesitated, then forced a wry smile and flew over.

So the demon kings had lured the Void Screamer to exploit its spatial rift for entry into the Netherworld River.

Given Mu Qing’s practiced execution, this was clearly not their first blood sacrifice.

What kind of power did this monster possess, to leave behind a stable rift after departing?

Six-Legs and Mu Qing vanished into the black hole.

Under the golden ape’s watchful, insincere gaze, Han Li had no choice but to follow.

At the rift’s edge, Han Li sensed intense spatial fluctuations. Unlike other rifts he’d seen, this one resembled a vast tunnel stretching into the distance.

Ahead, Six-Legs and Mu Qing advanced cautiously, their figures flickering in the gloom.

Han Li and the golden ape followed at a measured pace.

The black passage wasn’t long. After a thousand feet, they halted before a churning wall of silver mist.

“We’re here. The Void Screamer fell for our trap—it only managed to block part of the passage before succumbing to slumber. Fellow Daoist Mu, the blood offering should keep it dormant long enough, yes?” Six-Legs asked calmly.

“Rest assured. This final batch was brewed precisely to your specifications. I’ve spared no effort over these years,” Mu Qing replied confidently.

“Good. Though the Void Screamer is called the ‘Spatial Demon,’ it lacks true consciousness, acting only on instinct. The accumulated blood offerings, combined with the Ten-Thousand-Year Drunken Spirit concealed within, will keep it asleep for months. As long as it remains dormant, the passage stays open—ample time for our ventures into the Netherworld River. Had it not appeared in our Abyssal Depths before, we’d never have discovered this realm,” Six-Legs mused.

“Yet without your prior knowledge of the Netherworld River, we’d never have dared this risk,” Mu Qing remarked lightly.

“Humph. You wouldn’t have agreed had the Netherworld Divine Milk not tempted you. Enough talk—let’s clear the remaining blockage.”

With that, Six-Legs issued the order to proceed.
