Chapter 1250: Capturing the Essence Flame

The silver-winged colt transformed from the Solar Essence Fire had already pursued to this location and naturally wouldn’t easily give up. With a flap of its wings, it swiftly chased upward.

Both entities were fire spirits and thus were not hindered by the thick layers of earth.

Moments later, with two soft *pops*, the two fire spirits burst out of the ground one after the other, entering the enormous light cage.

The Solar Essence Fire immediately sensed something amiss upon emerging. However, the humanoid puppet had already stomped on the Qianlan Treasure Cauldron below, causing a blue flame to roar out of the cauldron, instantly transforming into a blue frost flood dragon that viciously pounced downward.

Meanwhile, the fleeing Lunar Firebird suddenly circled back, charging toward the silver-winged colt below. With a flick of its beak, the hazy white Snow Crystal Pearl shot out and smashed downward.

At the same time, the entire formation, under the puppet’s command, began to activate.

Seeing this, the Solar Essence Fire immediately turned and shot downward, intending to escape back into the magma. The spot where it and the Lunar Firebird had emerged was the only area in the volcano’s mouth deliberately left uncovered by blue ice. But now, as the formation hummed, blue light surged from that spot, and ice began to form.

However, no matter how fast the formation activated, it was far slower than the speed of the silver-winged colt.

In a flash of silver light, the colt was about to plunge into the ground when its eyes suddenly widened in terror. Its wings spread, and its body halted abruptly before vanishing from the spot, reappearing in the air over twenty zhang away.

Almost simultaneously, five beams of different-colored light erupted from the ground, striking empty air.

Then, five streams of gray-white demonic energy surged forth, swirling and revealing five ghostly heads, each about a foot in size.

These were the Five Devils of Common Heart!

Han Li slowly rose from the ground.

By now, under the formation’s effect, the ground was also submerged in blue light, turning into a thick layer of ice.

Standing atop the blue ice, Han Li looked up, his expression grave.

The frost flood dragon formed from the Qianlan Ice Flame, the Lunar Firebird, and the five ghostly heads were now swarming the silver-winged colt in a frenzied assault.

As recorded in Frost Li the Transcendent’s memories, the Solar Essence Fire spirit was exceptionally cunning. It transformed into a streak of silver light, darting wildly through the air without lingering anywhere.

Apart from the Lunar Firebird, this fire spirit was noticeably faster than the five devils and the frost flood dragon. The Lunar Firebird, aided by Han Li’s Snow Crystal Pearl and the fact that it was now within the icy prison formed by the Qianlan Ice Flame, was slightly faster than the Solar Essence Fire—a reversal from their earlier dynamic in the magma.

Were it not for the colt’s agility and cunning, making its escape path unpredictable, it would have already been cornered by the firebird.

Even so, within a short time, the colt was struck several times by the firebird’s crimson beams, sustaining minor injuries. Yet it chose to endure the hits rather than retaliate, lest it be overtaken by the five devils and the frost flood dragon.

Han Li stood motionless below, his hands clasped behind his back, while the humanoid puppet high above continued to activate the formation and control the frost flood dragon, its expression equally impassive.

Suddenly, the young unicorn seized an opportunity. After enduring another strike from the Lunar Firebird, it folded its wings and, without warning, transformed into a silver streak, plummeting downward. In a flash, it reached the ground, its silver light flaring as it prepared to escape via earth遁.

But the moment it touched the blue ice, silver and blue lights clashed, causing the colt’s body to momentarily freeze.

In that brief delay, a crimson beam and a wave of blue frost mist shot toward it from behind, accompanied by eerie howls.

Fear flickered in the young horse’s eyes. Escape was impossible, but its response was lightning-fast—it abruptly halted its descent, frantically beat its wings, and conjured clusters of silver blossoms around itself, forming a protective cocoon.

Two muffled *booms* rang out as the crimson beam and blue frost mist struck the silver flowers, exploding violently.

To Han Li’s surprise, the colt was sent flying backward as if struck by a tremendous force, landing over ten zhang away. Staggering, it immediately transformed back into a silver streak, fleeing toward another part of the cage.

Though still incredibly fast, Han Li’s azure pupils detected that one of its wings was now shorter, and one of its legs had grown indistinct, flickering with silver flames.

A faint smile curled Han Li’s lips. He finally moved.

A flash of cyan-white light appeared behind him as a pair of wings materialized. With a light flap, a gust of wind lifted him, and he vanished from the spot.

By now, the Lunar Firebird and the others realized the Solar Essence Fire was escaping and gave chase without hesitation. But the colt had already pushed its speed to the limit, its silver light flashing several times as it reached the edge of the cage.

A blue light pillar blocked its path, and the colt attempted to veer around it.

However, the humanoid puppet above immediately formed a hand seal. All the light pillars brightened, and countless threads of light shot out, weaving into a massive net that sealed off the colt’s escape.

Startled, the colt flapped its wings, sending dozens of silver flowers toward the net while charging forward without pause—intent on breaking through.

But it failed to notice two white mist clouds floating above its head. The mist suddenly churned, releasing two streams of icy wind, from which two snow-white centipedes lunged with lightning speed.

These were two of the Six-Winged Frost Centipedes Han Li had secretly stationed nearby.

Forced to evade, the colt swerved away from the icy winds, only to find the Lunar Firebird and the five devils closing in from behind.

Just as it turned, a black crystalline flying knife materialized before it, slicing through its body in a black streak.

Terror filled the colt’s eyes as a silver line appeared on its brow, splitting its body in two.

With two soft *pops*, the halves burst into silver flames before merging back into a whole.

Yet its form remained indistinct, unable to fully solidify.

The demonic flying knife’s strike had severely weakened it. Then, a dull thunderclap sounded overhead, and a green arc flashed as Han Li appeared, his fingers flicking rapidly.

Ten fiery threads shot forth, piercing the immobilized colt’s body.

Han Li chanted an incantation, and the threads coiled around the colt, binding it tightly.

Caught off guard, the fire spirit seemed powerless to resist.

Delighted, Han Li flipped his palm, revealing a stack of pre-prepared restriction talismans. With a wave, they shot toward the Solar Essence Fire as multicolored streaks.

Once these talismans attached, even a fire spirit would be unable to escape.

But then, something unexpected happened.

The bound colt suddenly let out a shrill cry, its body erupting in silver light. The fiery threads loosened and fell away, transforming into ten streaks that intercepted the talismans.

Explosions erupted, reducing the talismans to ash before the streaks turned toward Han Li.

Even Han Li, usually unflappable, paled slightly. But he quickly raised a hand, summoning the fiery threads back into his palm.

Seizing the chance, the colt turned to flee once more.

Han Li’s expression darkened as he snorted coldly.

The sound struck the colt like a physical blow, sending it tumbling from the sky—Han Li had used his Soul-Shocking Thorn technique.

His wings flapped, and he vanished, reappearing beneath the falling colt. Without using any treasures, he reached out, and a giant purple flame hand materialized, seizing the colt.

Purple light flared, encasing the fire spirit in a massive block of violet ice.

The Lunar Firebird and the frost flood dragon finally arrived, plunging into the ice and merging with it.

Meanwhile, the colt inside the ice began to recover from the Soul-Shocking Thorn’s effects, its silver flames surging as it tried to melt its way free.

But with the Lunar Firebird reinforcing the ice, escape was impossible. The blue flood dragon and crimson firebird moved effortlessly within the ice, spewing frost to suppress the silver flames.

The five devils arrived as well, exhaling five-colored frost flames that further slowed the colt’s movements while leaving the flood dragon and firebird unaffected—even enhancing their power.

Under such relentless assault, the colt’s resistance weakened, its aura dimming.

Seizing the moment, Han Li flicked his sleeve, sending another batch of talismans into the ice, where they adhered to the colt’s body.

The fire spirit’s struggles ceased, its silver light fading as it reverted to a mere ball of silver flame, trapped within the ice.
