Chapter 1149: Capturing the Demon

With a spread of his fingers, a golden electric flood dragon surged from his arm, colliding head-on with the ferocious black serpent.

“Evil-Warding Divine Lightning!”

Upon seeing this, Patriarch Ji Yin was startled and immediately attempted to form another spell with his fingers, but it was already too late!

The golden flood dragon pounced onto the black serpent, and with a thunderous roar, the serpent’s body was enveloped in countless golden arcs, disintegrating and vanishing in the blink of an eye.

The demon-suppressing power of the Evil-Warding Divine Lightning was no joke.

Patriarch Ji Yin’s face twisted in fury as he slapped his storage pouch at his waist.

A loud buzzing sound erupted as a blood-red streak several feet long shot out from the pouch, instantly appearing above Han Li’s head and transforming into a crimson longsword that slashed downward.

Before the blade even descended, a thick, nauseating stench of blood assaulted Han Li’s senses.

Han Li’s expression darkened. With a flick of his neck, he suddenly opened his mouth and spat out a small golden sword.

With a sharp *clang*, the golden and crimson lights clashed. The blood sword let out a mournful cry before being cleanly severed in two by the golden flying sword, its remnants plummeting to the ground.

“Impossible!”

This time, Patriarch Ji Yin’s face truly changed drastically, snapping him out of his earlier euphoria.

In this stone chamber, the restriction that suppressed spiritual sense was ineffective.

With a flicker of doubt, he hastily swept his divine sense over Han Li.

Han Li, who had already marked Patriarch Ji Yin as a dead man, no longer concealed his cultivation. His overwhelmingly powerful spiritual energy surged unrestrained within his body.

When the old demon’s divine sense swept over him, his expression shifted dramatically—first stunned, then bewildered, and finally disbelieving. After scanning Han Li several more times, his face turned ashen.

“You’ve reached the late Nascent Soul stage!”

Patriarch Ji Yin forced the words out through gritted teeth, his back instantly drenched in cold sweat.

“Hmph, what use is knowing now? It would have been better for you to die ignorant. But since you once pursued me relentlessly for the Void Heaven Cauldron, I’ll let you perish beneath it—consider it a final mercy.”

Han Li’s killing intent surged as he recalled the past, his voice icy and sinister.

With that, he opened his mouth and spat out a ball of azure light. After a brief spin, an ancient-looking small cauldron materialized before him.

It was none other than the Void Heaven Cauldron!

Though Patriarch Ji Yin was reeling from the revelation of Han Li’s late Nascent Soul cultivation—feeling as though he were trapped in a nightmare—the sight of the Void Heaven Cauldron snapped him back to reality. He knew disaster loomed and had no intention of waiting for death.

Gritting his teeth, he spun rapidly in place, releasing billowing black Yin energy that swiftly filled most of the chamber. Ghostly wails and howls filled the air as towering spectral figures flickered in and out of the dark mist.

In a desperate move, Patriarch Ji Yin pushed his Profound Yin Devil Arts to the limit and summoned the eighteen Sky Corpse puppets he had refined over centuries. Yet, he hesitated to attack Han Li directly with his devilish energy.

Han Li merely smirked coldly.

Though the Profound Yin Devil Energy obscured vision, his spiritual eyes saw through it effortlessly.

Without wasting words, he tapped the Void Heaven Cauldron before him.

The small cauldron glowed with azure light, releasing countless fine green threads from its top. In an instant, they wove into a massive net hovering above the chamber.

A chill ran down Patriarch Ji Yin’s spine. Without hesitation, he chanted an incantation.

The nearby spectral figures lunged forward—over a dozen Sky Corpses charging through the dark mist toward the ceiling, their arms flailing as if to tear the net apart.

Han Li remained expressionless but flicked the small cauldron lightly with his finger.

A soft *ding* echoed as the green net suddenly blazed with blinding light. A layer of blue icy flames materialized eerily across its surface before coalescing into over a dozen radiant blue firebirds.

The firebirds dove straight into the charging corpses.

Without so much as a groan, the Sky Corpses were instantly encased in blue flames, transforming into grotesque ice sculptures that shattered upon impact with the ground.

The green net trembled, and under a burst of blue radiance, countless fist-sized blue fireballs rained down into the devilish mist below.

The black fog churned violently, morphing into countless thick black serpents that lunged at the fireballs.

Upon contact, the blue fireballs exploded with muffled *bangs*, releasing vast clouds of freezing mist that engulfed the entire chamber.

In moments, the room was plunged into extreme cold. The walls and objects around them were instantly coated in thick layers of ice, turning the chamber into a glittering glacial cavern.

The black serpents, caught in the blue mist, froze solid one by one before crumbling into nothingness. The remaining devilish energy dissipated under the frosty pressure, faintly revealing Patriarch Ji Yin within.

Under these conditions, the old demon wouldn’t last long.

Knowing his dire straits, Patriarch Ji Yin let out a shrill cry before spitting out a pitch-black orb.

As soon as the orb appeared, he bit his tongue and sprayed a mouthful of blood essence onto it.

The orb trembled, transforming into a swirling black devil flame that wrapped around him, encasing his body in a layer of dark fire.

This was his trump card—the Sky Corpse Flame.

With this technique activated, the old demon regained some confidence. He gathered the remaining devilish energy around him and shot toward the chamber’s entrance like a blazing black comet, intent on escape.

The Sky Corpse Flame proved formidable—the blue frost mist sizzled upon contact but couldn’t immediately freeze him. After a few flashes, he broke free of the mist and reached the entrance.

Han Li watched impassively but silently activated the treasure-controlling incantation.

A brilliant azure light erupted at the stone door as countless green threads shot from the walls, weaving together to seal the exit.

“No!” Patriarch Ji Yin’s heart sank.

At that moment, a chilling sensation from above made him jerk his head up.

A massive blue ice lotus had formed above him, suspended within the green net, its radiant glow casting an eerie beauty over the chamber—directly above him.

“Damn it!”

Panicking, he tried to dodge, but before he could move, two clusters of green threads erupted from the ground, coiling tightly around his ankles and rooting him in place.

The threads rapidly climbed his legs, encasing his lower body despite the black flames still burning fiercely.

Simultaneously, the blue ice lotus above began descending slowly.

Patriarch Ji Yin was terrified. Even if his Sky Corpse Flame was powerful, how could it withstand the might of the Arctic Divine Flame?

In desperation, he spat out a black jade pendant.

But before it could activate, another cluster of green threads shot from the void, wrapping around the pendant and severing his connection to it.

The threads then yanked the pendant back toward the Void Heaven Cauldron, where it vanished into the small cauldron with a flash.

Patriarch Ji Yin’s face turned deathly pale.

Though he frantically stoked his Sky Corpse Flame and summoned two more treasures to block the descending lotus, it was futile.

As the blue lotus descended, a wave of blue flames erupted outward.

The black corpse fire clashed with the Arctic Divine Flame, but under the overwhelming cold, it flickered weakly before sputtering out.

Despite his desperate attempts to break free, the old demon couldn’t escape the green threads.

When the last ember of his corpse fire died, the blue lotus finally landed.

With a crisp *crack*, Patriarch Ji Yin was completely encased in a towering block of blue ice, his face frozen in terror.

From start to finish, Han Li had only used the Void Heaven Cauldron, never moving from his spot.

Now, with the old demon immobilized, Han Li smirked and flicked the cauldron again.

The green threads throughout the chamber trembled before dissolving into streams of light that surged back into the small cauldron.

Han Li inhaled sharply, drawing the cauldron back into his body, then turned his gaze to the frozen Patriarch Ji Yin. His lips curled in a cold, mirthless smile, his eyes devoid of emotion.

With a flicker, Han Li floated before the ice block. Without a word, his sleeve trembled, releasing over a dozen golden flying swords.

The swords circled midair before elongating into golden blades, poised to slice the ice—and the trapped Patriarch Ji Yin—into pieces.

“Hold, Fellow Daoist Han!”

A familiar voice rang out from a corner of the chamber.

Han Li paused, narrowing his eyes toward the source.

From within the thick ice, a golden fist burst through, shattering the frozen barrier.

A golden Nascent Soul shot out, hovering in the air before locking eyes with Han Li.

“All of my clan was slaughtered by this man. Allow me, Man Huzi, to personally end him.”
