Chapter 1115: The Invasion of the Demonic Beasts

The woman surnamed Hua was fortunate enough to know that Han Li was an infant-level cultivator whom even the elders of the Frozen Palace treated with great respect. Although the attack didn’t seem to come from him personally, it was undoubtedly related to this “Senior Han.” Killing a sixth or seventh-level demon beast naturally wouldn’t require much effort.

The other two female cultivators also felt a wave of relief.

“Thank you for your intervention, Venerable! These demon beasts have already breached the main hall of our Void Spirit Hall. We humbly request your assistance!” The highest-ranking False Core female cultivator bowed deeply to Han Li and spoke with reverence.

“Breached the main hall? Isn’t your Void Spirit Hall heavily restricted? How could this happen?” Han Li flicked his sleeve, summoning a gust of wind that swept the demon beast corpses out of the formation before he asked indifferently.

“We don’t know either! We were patrolling the hall when suddenly a large number of demon beasts appeared inside, as if they bypassed the outer restrictions entirely and invaded the main hall directly.” The woman hesitated before answering, equally puzzled.

“It seems these beasts employed some special method.” Han Li mused to himself. The world was full of bizarre secret techniques and treasures, so nothing was truly beyond belief.

Just as Han Li was about to speak again, the teleportation formation suddenly flickered once more.

This time, though the three female disciples of the Frozen Palace were startled, they remained much calmer with Han Li—a “high-ranking expert”—present. They only took two steps back, eyes fixed unblinkingly on the formation.

As the white light faded, a plain-looking woman in her thirties appeared, immediately summoning a protective ring around herself in caution. But upon seeing Han Li and the three women, she froze in surprise.

When her gaze shifted to the demon beast corpses beside the formation, she scrutinized Han Li again, her face lighting up with joy.

“Greetings, Elder Yao!” The three female disciples immediately stepped forward and bowed in delight.

The woman waved them off, stepping out of the formation to bow respectfully to Han Li. “This junior pays her respects to Senior Han!”

“You recognize me?” Han Li studied her, finding her face unfamiliar.

“This junior is Yao Man, formerly a patrol officer in the palace. I once caught a distant glimpse of you during my duties,” she replied respectfully.

“I see.” Han Li nodded noncommittally.

“Senior, may I ask if you are accompanying our palace’s elders? The demon beasts have invaded the main hall, and I was ordered to seek aid from Grand Elder Han Li.” She spoke frankly, her eyes darting toward the hall entrance.

“Hmph, I’m afraid Fellow Daoist Han Li is currently occupied,” Han Li replied with a faint smile.

“I’ve heard rumors that you and our elders are engaged in a critical matter. But this invasion is no trivial matter. If the Grand Elder doesn’t intervene, our Frozen Palace may face annihilation.” The woman grew visibly anxious.

“Oh? Are the invading beasts truly so formidable? Isn’t your palace master a late-stage great cultivator? Can she not handle them?” Han Li’s eyes gleamed with curiosity.

“I was sent by the palace master herself. By the time I left, she was already entangled with a powerful demon beast and unable to act.” The woman forced a bitter smile.

“Fellow Daoist Han Li and the others are in the Profound Jade Cave. If you think you can summon them, go ahead. I’ll head over to see what kind of beasts could threaten your palace so severely.” Han Li’s expression remained unreadable as he stepped onto the teleportation formation.

“Senior, please be cautious. The invasion is rampant, and even the teleportation area may not be safe.” The woman hesitated but dared not stop him, offering only a warning.

Han Li nodded, flicking a green spell onto the formation. White light flashed as the teleportation began—but at that moment, a silver glow shimmered behind him, and a green figure appeared, vanishing alongside him in the blink of an eye.

“Who was that?” The woman gasped.

“This junior isn’t sure, but that person might have been the one who killed the demon beast earlier,” the False Core disciple ventured uncertainly.

“I’ve heard several external seniors have arrived at the palace. Perhaps it was another one. You three, stay here and guard against any enemies. I’ll head to the Profound Jade Cave to summon the Grand Elder.” Though puzzled by Han Li’s solitary presence, she quickly refocused on her mission and instructed the others.

“As you command!” The three disciples bowed, while the woman transformed into a streak of white light, speeding toward the cave.

Meanwhile, Han Li and his humanoid puppet emerged from the teleportation formation. Before he could fully recover from the disorientation, the puppet vanished from his side.

Two screams rang out, followed by a thud as something collapsed.

Han Li turned to see a demon beast corpse in a pool of blood, while two Frozen Palace disciples—a man and a woman—stared in shock as the puppet withdrew its silver-glowing arm from another beast’s chest, its body slumping to the ground.

The hall was identical to the one they had just left.

After a brief glance at the disciples, Han Li strode toward the exit, ignoring them. Outside, the sounds of fierce battle echoed—explosions, clashes, and roars filling the air.

The two disciples hesitated, unsure whether to approach, but Han Li had already left with his puppet.

In an adjacent hall, over a dozen Frozen Palace disciples clashed with demon beasts. Spells and demonic energy filled the space, the cacophony deafening as the battle raged in a stalemate.

Han Li spared them no attention. These beasts and cultivators were mostly at the Foundation Establishment or Core Formation level—beneath his concern. With a flash of green light, he and his puppet shot toward the exit like a streak of light.

The teleportation formation leading outside was supposedly in the main hall.

At Han Li’s speed, he crossed dozens of feet in an instant, nearing the exit—when a black-scaled beast lunged at him, spewing dark mist with a furious roar.

Han Li sighed. Though this beast was strong, its intelligence was lacking. Other beasts had wisely avoided him, but this one charged blindly.

Uninterested in a fight with a non-sentient beast, Han Li flicked his fingers, releasing five piercing green beams. The beast’s protective aura shattered instantly, its body riddled with holes as it collapsed.

The remaining beasts, though wary, were stunned by the swift execution. They hastily retreated, reassessing the threat.

The Frozen Palace disciples, however, rallied with renewed vigor.

But Han Li had already vanished in a streak of green, leaving the battle behind.

Following the memories extracted from Frost Li the Transcendent’s infant soul, Han Li sped through the halls. Everywhere he passed, battles raged—demon beasts and cultivators locked in combat, the Void Spirit Hall thoroughly overrun.

A few reckless beasts attacked him along the way, only to be impaled by his sword or struck down by his puppet’s arrows. Most were sixth or seventh-level beasts.

Weaker beasts dared not approach his oppressive aura, while early-stage transformed beasts recognized his superior cultivation and avoided confrontation.

But as Han Li traversed a long corridor, two transformed beasts blocked his path.

One wore a blue robe, with long ears and green eyes. The other had snow-white hair, crimson skin, and three demonic eyes. Both radiated murderous intent.

Han Li’s gaze swept over two Frozen Palace disciple corpses nearby, his brow furrowing. The chaotic spiritual energy indicated a recent, brutal battle—one these two had won.

“Step aside. I’m not from the Frozen Palace and have no interest in your conflict,” Han Li said coldly.

The green-eyed beastman, wielding two silver axes, let out a derisive laugh.

“Step aside? Do you take us for fools? All human cultivators deserve death. And I just ate an infant soul—delicious! Yours looks even tastier.”

The three-eyed beast smirked in agreement.

One was an eighth-level beast, the other newly ascended to the ninth. Confident in their advantage, they saw Han Li—a mere mid-stage infant cultivator—as easy prey.

After all, the humanoid puppet remained concealed, and even an ordinary eighth-level beast could hold its own against a mid-stage infant cultivator.
