“Do you think I would agree?” The silver-haired woman flicked her finger, stabilizing the disc before her, and spoke indifferently.
“Since you are of the demon race, you surely have no ties to the Three Human Sovereigns. The Seven Demon Kings once repeatedly invaded our Ancient Demon Realm, slaughtering countless of our sacred kin. Given your connection to them, I need not spare any face for Patriarch Aoxiao. I can simply eliminate you here and now.” The demon statue spoke with murderous intent, then rubbed its hands together, unleashing a surge of overwhelming spiritual pressure that swept outward. The previously indistinct form of the statue instantly sharpened into clarity.
Streaks of crystalline light shot from the demon statue’s hands, not toward the silver-haired woman, but instead coiling around itself with a hissing sound.
In the blink of an eye, the demon statue transformed from a mass of black mist into a towering, translucent giant, though its eyes still flickered with terrifying violet light.
“Do not think that a mere Reverse Star Disc can truly act arrogantly before this Sacred Ancestor. Let me see if you can withstand this strike.” The giant’s voice was icy as it raised a single hand, crystalline light swirling in its palm as if something were about to erupt.
Upon seeing this, the silver-haired woman, Linglong, showed no panic. Instead, she smiled lightly, as if winter had melted and flowers bloomed in full splendor. Her expression, once cold as ice, now seemed entirely different, as though she had become another person.
“Do you think you still have time to remain in this realm?”
“What do you mean?” The crystalline giant’s eyes flickered in confusion.
At that moment, the dozen or so stone pillars surrounding the altar, which had been flickering erratically, suddenly dimmed, their spiritual light extinguished. The massive formation that had been activating abruptly halted, and the endless stream of dark demonic energy flowing from the altar into the demon statue ceased instantly.
The crystalline giant’s face twisted with shock and fury. Having just expended his true demonic energy to crystallize his form, he was now cut off from his final supply. The consequences were all too clear.
With a shrill cry, the giant’s raised palm flashed, and a thick crystalline beam shot forth.
But the beam had only halfway emerged when the Yuancha Sacred Ancestor let out several roars of unwillingness. His crystallized body shattered inch by inch, and without the support of a physical form, his divine sense dissipated like mist, vanishing completely from this world.
The half-formed crystalline beam, however, streaked toward the silver-haired woman in an instant.
But she, already prepared, swiftly raised a hand and struck the disc before her with a silver incantation.
The disc swelled violently to a size of several feet, its starlight flickering wildly as it absorbed the half-formed beam. Yet, even incomplete, the attack was extraordinary. The Reverse Star Disc trembled violently before being flung backward.
Linglong’s expression shifted slightly—this outcome was unexpected. Without hesitation, she flicked her silver-glowing hand and lightly pressed it against the disc’s back.
But the disc merely paused for a moment before erupting with starlight. The half-formed crystalline beam shot out from the disc’s back, striking Linglong squarely in the abdomen.
The silver-haired woman, clearly caught off guard, instinctively summoned a silver glow around her body. Yet the beam pierced through her without resistance.
She let out a muffled groan, staggering as pain twisted her features. Still, she pressed a silver-glowing hand to the wound, obscuring its severity.
Her body, formed from condensed divine sense, would normally shrug off ordinary attacks. But this crystalline beam was forged from even stronger divine sense, making her grievous injury unsurprising.
The dazzling sequence of events left everyone stunned.
Xuan Qingzi and the others, seeing the demon statue destroyed, were overjoyed. Meanwhile, the black-armored woman, a manifestation of the Yuancha Sacred Ancestor’s split divine sense, could scarcely believe what had transpired.
The divine sense she had painstakingly summoned had been shattered so easily. And the stone pillars, supposedly indestructible, had failed without any apparent attack.
Filled with rage and confusion, the black-armored woman scanned the ruined pillars. Suddenly, her expression darkened as she reached out toward one of them.
The seemingly intact pillar was yanked from the ground with a thunderous crash before slamming back down.
Xuan Qingzi and the others, puzzled by her actions, followed her gaze.
The base of the pillar was jagged and uneven, as if gnawed through by something.
The black-armored woman’s face darkened further. She punched the ground with a furious blow.
A deafening explosion later, a crater several feet deep appeared. Amid the scattered debris, flecks of golden light shot outward.
The woman raised her other hand, and one of the golden specks veered toward her, landing in her palm.
Glancing at the golden insects in her hand, she gasped in recognition.
“Gold Devouring Beetles! You planted these beneath us!” She whirled around, glaring at Linglong, whose face had paled slightly.
The silver-haired woman merely sneered, withdrawing her hand from her abdomen. The wound had vanished without a trace.
“The Reverse Star Disc—could it be the legendary artifact capable of traversing realms and neutralizing boundary forces?” Xuan Qingzi murmured, his gaze fixed on the disc.
“Brother Xuan Qingzi, what are you implying? Do you dare covet it?” The Ten-Thousand-Year Corpse Bear floated a blood-red blade before him, his tone sinister.
“Haha, Brother Bear jests. With this demon still unvanquished, how could we entertain such thoughts? Our enemy remains before us. Summoning the Sacred Ancestor’s divine sense must have drained much of her demonic energy. With the formation destroyed, now is the perfect time to strike. Fellow Daoists, let us act together!” Seven Wonders True Person chuckled, his eyes locking onto the black-armored woman.
The woman, hearing this, suddenly laughed coldly.
“Demon, what is there to laugh about? Now that the Sacred Ancestor is no longer in this realm, do you truly believe you can resist us?” Xuan Qingzi’s face darkened as he shouted.
“Tch! If you truly believed that, you would have attacked already instead of blathering. Even if my situation is dire, yours is no better. Your treasures are ruined, your energy nearly spent. And do you really think destroying a few pillars renders this formation useless?” The black-armored woman smirked eerily before vanishing and reappearing before the stone stele.
Her hand pressed against the Dragon Seal embedded in the stele.
The stele, previously calm after the pillars’ destruction, flickered with black light and trembled anew. Simultaneously, from the ruined pillars’ sites, dark demonic winds rose, and a dozen new black energy pillars erupted from the ground. The remaining pillars also reignited with spiritual light, as if the entire formation were reactivating.
“Not good! Stop her!” Xuan Qingzi’s expression twisted in alarm. Without hesitation, he swung his Heavenly A Sword wildly, sending deep yellow sword beams slashing forth as he shot toward the altar.
The Corpse Bear and Seven Wonders True Person also acted swiftly, unleashing bloody light and seven orbs of spiritual energy.
Gui Ling swung her giant axe, sending wheel-sized silver arcs flying.
Even Lin Yinping flicked her sleeves, releasing a pair of crescent red blades that transformed into streaks of fire.
After the massacre by the demon statue, the cultivators had united in hatred, fearing the demon might break the seal and summon something even more terrifying. The memory of helpless slaughter was one none wished to relive.
The two eagle-winged demonic avatars also lunged forward.
Chaos erupted near the altar—demonic energy roiled, spiritual lights clashed—and battle resumed in full force.
Yet amidst this, two figures remained still, facing each other across a mere ten feet.
“What did you say?” Han Li’s heart sank upon hearing the unexpected voice transmission.
“I said, lend me your Void Heaven Cauldron,” the silver-haired woman replied calmly, her gaze unwavering.
“Hmph. Why should I?” Han Li narrowed his eyes, his tone cold. This woman, though possibly retaining some of Silvermoon’s memories, was now a stranger—one he regarded with utmost wariness.
“Why? Because the Heavenly Spirit Beast’s avatar within it will serve as my temporary vessel. That so-called ‘Heavenly Spirit Beast’ is a renowned figure in the Spirit Realm. Its condensed avatar is perfect for my needs. Otherwise, with only this divine sense body and human form, I’d be at a disadvantage against my silver wolf form.” She glanced dismissively at Xuan Qingzi and the others.
“No.” To her surprise, Han Li refused outright.
“What did you say?” Her eyes turned icy, a murderous aura flaring.
“With the Yuancha Sacred Ancestor’s divine sense gone, I see no need for further action,” Han Li retorted bluntly.
“Do you seek death?” Linglong’s laughter was laced with fury as she raised a slender finger, crystalline light extending from its tip, flickering ominously.
Just then, a bloodthirsty shriek erupted from the demonic energy around the altar. The roiling darkness coalesced into the vague form of a three-headed, six-armed monstrosity.
