Chapter 1022: Farewell to Yuan Guang

“Your words are quite frank, without any pretense. Since you have such determination to help this Sacred Ancestor escape from here, I can assist you in performing a Body Infusion. Let me be clear—given your condition, the chance of advancing after the infusion is at most fifty percent. However, our Sacred Clan’s lifespan far exceeds that of human cultivators. Even if you fail to advance, the infusion will still significantly extend your lifespan, giving you another chance to reach the Deity Transformation stage on your own.” The black wolf’s head swept its gaze over the large-headed freak, speaking indifferently.

“Fifty percent? Even if it were just ten percent, I, Ye, would still take the gamble. Tell me how to free you, and I’ll do it without hesitation,” the large-headed freak laughed wildly, his resolve unwavering.

“Good. Then I’ll be direct. At this stage of the Soul Fusion Art, once the wolf spirit returns to this body, no spellcasting will be needed—I’ll be forced to merge with her. The only way to stop this is to destroy the wolf spirit. However, the place where the Silvermoon Wolf Spirit slumbers is protected by the Annihilation Array, personally set up by the Kunwu Three Elders. This array consists of eighty-one Demon-Slaying Blades. Anyone carrying demonic energy who approaches will be instantly shredded by the combined power of the blades and the array. Bloodflame cannot break this array. Though your cultivation method isn’t orthodox, it’s also not demonic. Therefore, the task of destroying the wolf spirit falls to you. Succeed, and the Body Infusion is guaranteed.” Though the black wolf’s voice remained unchanged, its words carried an irresistible allure to the large-headed freak, who stared at the giant wolf with a conflicted expression.

“Where is this wolf spirit?” After a moment, the Ye family freak gritted his teeth, showing no intention of bargaining.

“Brother Ye, you are indeed wise! Of the two teleportation arrays you used to enter, the other leads directly to the palace where the wolf spirit is kept.” The black wolf’s head showed a hint of appreciation at the freak’s decisiveness and answered straightforwardly.

“If it’s that teleportation array, the Poison Sage Sect members have already entered ahead of me. They might be troublesome, but if I strike from the shadows, dealing with them should be easy. I’ll head there now and destroy the wolf spirit.” Muttering to himself, the large-headed freak formed a hand seal, and the teleportation array beneath him flashed, whisking him away.

In an instant, only the ancient demon remained near the array.

“Earlier, with the human cultivator present, I couldn’t ask. Now, tell me—how many demonic artifacts have you collected?” As soon as the freak vanished, the black wolf’s gaze turned icy, and a chilling aura erupted. The chains binding it buzzed violently, releasing countless dark spikes that plunged deep into the giant wolf’s body. Yet, the black wolf’s expression remained unchanged, as if it felt nothing.

“Reporting to the Sacred Ancestor, five demonic artifacts left behind by our clan in the human realm have been recovered!” The ancient demon bowed deeply, his tone even more reverent.

“Five will suffice for now. Begin the setup immediately. Though I can only control half of this body’s power, once I break free, it will be enough to shatter the Black Wind Banner’s restrictions. Even if it’s a Heaven-Connecting Spirit Treasure, without a master, it’s nothing more than a lifeless object,” the black wolf said darkly.

“As you command.” Without hesitation, the ancient demon waved its four arms, and black light flashed as four demonic artifacts appeared in its hands: an obsidian mirror, a blood-red command arrow, a jade lotus, and a pale-gray ring. Meanwhile, one of its heads opened its mouth and spat out a small black vial.

The five artifacts materialized and began spinning rapidly above the ancient demon’s head. With a long howl, the demon’s body erupted in black light, and the artifacts shot toward the giant wolf. The array in the sky reacted instantly, glowing brilliantly as if the entire heavens had come alive.

Unbeknownst to Han Li, an ancient demon was about to break free from the Demon-Suppressing Tower. At that moment, he stood at the entrance of the Kunwu Hall, staring at the scene inside with a peculiar expression.

“Northern Extreme Aurora… Why is it here?” Han Li muttered, his gaze sweeping over the dense silver threads filling the hall. He confirmed they were identical to those he’d seen in the Fallen Demon Valley, though these didn’t emanate from rocks but from hundreds of pillars as thick as a man’s embrace. The entire hall was submerged in the aurora, obscuring whatever lay beyond.

Just then, a wild laugh echoed from behind Han Li, distant yet filled with arrogance.

“Brother Han, will you leap into the Northern Extreme Aurora yourself, or shall we send you in with our magic treasures?” The voice belonged unmistakably to the Dry Devil.

Frowning, Han Li glanced back. Through the massive hall doors, he could see that only a dozen or so of the golden magnetic trees remained. The Dry Devil and his group, along with the silver-winged nightfiends, had caught up. While they continued attacking the last trees, their eyes were fixed on Han Li through the doors, their expressions varied.

Except for the demons, who already knew of the aurora’s presence, the others recognized it immediately. Their reactions were mixed—relieved that Han Li couldn’t advance further, yet frustrated that they, too, were blocked by the sudden barrier.

The Dry Devil’s laughter, however, remained carefree. To the unprepared, the Northern Extreme Aurora was a death sentence, hence his glee.

Han Li snorted coldly and tapped his storage pouch. A black ring shot out, expanding midair into a massive loop ten feet in diameter. Covered in swirling runes, it was one of the Two Polar Rings. With a calm gesture, Han Li directed it to encircle him, and a dark light shield enveloped his body.

The Dry Devil’s laughter ceased abruptly. The cultivators and demons behind him gaped in disbelief.

“Could he really pass through the Northern Extreme Aurora?” The thought struck them all, and even their attacks on the golden trees slowed.

Under their stunned gazes, Han Li stepped forward, the aurora’s threads bending away from his shield as if repelled. In moments, he vanished into the silver light.

“Quick! Don’t let him take the treasures!” The silver-winged nightfiend snapped out of his shock, his face twisting in fury.

“Even if we hurry, what use is it with the aurora blocking us?” Ge Tianhao said grimly.

“Hmph! The Northern Extreme Aurora may stop others, but not me.” The Dry Devil’s icy voice rang out as the white giant formed by the Five Child Demons lunged forward, ignoring the remaining trees and charging toward the hall.

“Elder!” Ge Tianhao and the others gasped.

The white giant was immediately pulled to the ground by the magnetic force, immobilized. But with a thunderous roar, a blood-red shadow shot out from it, managing a dozen steps before being forced down again. Yet, it continued forward step by step, shocking onlookers.

“Enough delays. We must act now—those treasures cannot fall into others’ hands!” The silver-winged nightfiend turned to the ugly woman, his expression dark. She nodded gravely, then transformed into a giant black-and-white tortoise, carrying the nightfiend and the lion-hawk beast on her back. Though the two demons struggled under the magnetic force, the tortoise pressed on unhindered.

Golden runes appeared around them, sinking into their bodies. While the tortoise seemed unaffected, the other two weakened with each rune. Still, they soon passed the magnetic field’s range, recovering slightly as they pressed onward.
