Chapter 50: Marvelous

When he arrived, Xia Yu still couldn’t recall who the other person was.

Frowning, he prepared to observe where the person went after exiting the subway, hoping it might jog his memory. However, after exiting the subway station, the person immediately got into a sports car.

Letting go of the matter, Xia Yu walked toward Kong Hanyue’s house.

On the other side, Zhong Yunze asked his friend who was driving to first take him to a supermarket to buy some things before arriving at the gate of his own villa.

He didn’t go in immediately. Instead, he went to the garage first to check out his beloved off-road bike.

Besides visiting Kong Hanyue, another purpose of this return was to bring the off-road bike to Yaoguang City.

This bike was a custom version ordered from the manufacturer—something you couldn’t buy anywhere else!

Standing the bike upright, Zhong Yunze got on it, pressed hard on the pedal, and rode around the garage.

Even a custom off-road bicycle still felt great to ride.

After stopping the bike, Zhong Yunze happily patted the handlebars, picked up the supermarket bag, exited the garage, and walked toward the house.

Turning a corner, his steps abruptly halted, and he hid behind a wall.

He saw an unfamiliar man ringing the doorbell of his house!

Who was this person? A criminal? Or a fraud?

Given the strict security here, criminals or fraudsters shouldn’t have been able to get in.

Seeing his mother come out and welcome the man inside, Zhong Yunze frowned.

He sat quietly in place, waiting patiently.

At ten o’clock, Xia Yu came out of the house. Zhong Yunze glanced at the four hours that had passed, muttered a curse under his breath, and quietly followed behind.

After exiting the residential compound, with fewer obstacles blocking the way, Xia Yu quickly noticed Zhong Yunze.

To determine whether he was being followed or if they were just going the same way, he took a detour and ultimately confirmed he was indeed being tailed.

Entering a quiet subway station late at night, he suddenly started running.

Zhong Yunze immediately ran after him. Turning a corner, however, he found himself facing a dead end.

Before he could even react in surprise, Xia Yu grabbed his shoulder from behind.

“Who are you?” Seeing Zhong Yunze’s face, Xia Yu was startled.

Earlier, he had merely sensed someone tailing him but hadn’t known it was Zhong Yunze.

“Oh, it’s you,” Xia Yu said, recalling Zhong Yunze’s identity, and loosened his grip.

“It really is you!” Zhong Yunze also recognized Xia Yu, though what he remembered was their earlier subway collision incident.

Years ago, Xia Yu had seen Zhong Yunze, but Zhong Yunze had never seen Xia Yu.

“Who are you, and why were you entering and exiting my house!” Zhong Yunze grabbed Xia Yu’s clothes. “If you’re here to scam money, my mom has none—my funds and Xin Xin’s are all in our accounts!”

“…She’s also my mom,” Xia Yu explained.

“What?” Zhong Yunze’s mind became confused.

Three seconds later, he grabbed Xia Yu’s collar tightly: “So you’re the one messing with Xin Xin!”

“???”

Where the hell did you get that idea!

Before Xia Yu could explain, the agitated Zhong Yunze threw a punch directly at him.

Helplessly dodging the punch, Xia Yu tripped Zhong with a move and knocked him to the ground.

At that moment, footsteps suddenly approached.

Turning his head, Xia Yu saw Kong Hanyue running toward them.

She hugged Xia Yu: “Are you okay, Yuyu?”

I’m the one who got knocked down here!

“Zez, he’s your older brother,” Kong Hanyue looked at Zhong Yunze.

“How can he be my older brother? Even if he’s with Xin Xin, he should still call me older brother!” Zhong Yunze still couldn’t wrap his head around it.

“You and Xin Xin have a thing going on?” Kong Hanyue looked at Xia Yu, surprised and delighted.

“…”

It took some time for Xia Yu to clarify everything to both of them.

“The son of my ex-husband?” Zhong Yunze lowered his head upon hearing the truth.

Recalling his earlier actions, his face flushed with embarrassment.

So embarrassing!

“That’s the situation. I’m going now,” Xia Yu said, picking up his phone to check the time. But as he took a couple of steps forward, he stopped again.

“What’s wrong?” Kong Hanyue asked, showing concern.

“The last bus is gone,” Xia Yu sighed.

“Then don’t go back—just stay here tonight!” Kong Hanyue grabbed Xia Yu’s hand and looked at Zhong Yunze. “That’s okay, right, Zeze?”

“Well, if it’s really my brother… if it’s Xia Yu, then it’s fine,” Zhong Yunze struggled to call him “brother.”

“Great! Then let’s go home!” Holding Xia Yu’s left hand and Zhong Yunze’s right, Kong Hanyue happily walked toward the house.

“How did you even find us?” Xia Yu asked, puzzled.

“Zez’s friend’s mom told me Zez was back, and then I saw the supermarket bag in front of the garage, so I followed Zez’s location sharing on his phone!” Kong Hanyue said proudly.

“When did you turn on location sharing with me?” Zhong Yunze was greatly surprised.

“I did it. Didn’t I tell you before?” Kong Hanyue looked puzzled.

“Did you?” Zhong Yunze frowned, trying hard to remember.

“Maybe I forgot.”

“???”

Upon hearing this, Xia Yu silently took out his phone to check.

Luckily, Kong Hanyue hadn’t had the chance to mess with his phone yet.

“Come on, come on, let’s go back and continue practicing the guzheng,” Kong Hanyue changed the subject.

“Practice guzheng?” Zhong Yunze’s attention was successfully diverted.
