Chapter 430: An Approach to the Perfect Solution

“Does that mean we can be together forever?” Zhu Mei replied.

Xia Yu helplessly said, “You know that’s not what I meant.”

“It’s okay, I have a feeling about this,” Zhu Mei affirmed confidently.

Xia Yu was somewhat puzzled about what she meant by having a feeling. But the priority now was to clarify matters regarding marriage.

“It’s not necessary to go this far if you simply want to be with me,” Xia Yu felt that Zhu Mei’s deep affection toward him was because of his identity as a bear.

“Why not? Wouldn’t this make things more convenient? Then you wouldn’t stop me from leaning on you,” Zhu Mei said.

“Isn’t this situation strange?” Xia Yu asked.

“How is it strange? I want to be with you, want to touch your stomach, want to lie on you—Isn’t this love!” Zhu Mei argued righteously.

Xia Yu pondered briefly; there seemed to be some logic in what Zhu Mei said.

“I’ve already looked it up; love comes in many forms. My feelings for Bear Bear are love! It was only because humans and bears couldn’t be together before, but now there’s absolutely no problem!” Zhu Mei declared loudly.

“That’s just the affection one has for a pet,” Xia Yu insisted.

“Feelings for a pet are also a kind of love—you treat An Siyao exactly like that!” Zhu Mei’s voice was loud.

Xu Youxiang and An Siyao, who were eavesdropping, both heard clearly. Xu Youxiang looked as if she were staring at a pervert, while An Siyao’s expression was contemplative.

Xia Yu opened his mouth, speechless.

Indeed, Xia Yu had somewhat treated An Siyao like a little bunny, petting her head and ears, holding her around to play, watching her run around.

Zhu Mei pressed her advantage: “You’ve practically done everything with me already; are you planning to abandon me now?”

Xu Youxiang’s disdain deepened, while An Siyao looked at Xia Yu in surprise.

“What have I done to you? Why are you slandering me!” Xia Yu retorted.

“When I was Bear Bear,” Zhu Mei specified the time.

Xia Yu fell silent. Did the time when he was in the bear’s body count?

“Give me your phone,” Xu Youxiang extended her hand.

Grateful, Xia Yu handed over his phone, hoping Xu Youxiang could resolve the situation.

However, Xu Youxiang had no intention of letting Xia Yu stay and watch. She called An Siyao and, leaning on her crutch, went to her room.

After eavesdropping by the door for a while and hearing no sound, Xia Yu could only return to the living room and try to distract himself with something random.

An hour later, Xu Youxiang’s door opened, and An Siyao called for Xia Yu.

Coming into the bedroom, Xia Yu looked at Xu Youxiang, who had already hung up the phone. She told Xia Yu, “We’ve decided; you’ll be the king.”

Though he had imagined this before, Xia Yu was still somewhat surprised when it became real.

“I underestimated her. I thought she just treated you like a pet, but I didn’t expect her to be a pervert who even wants to sleep with her pet,” Xu Youxiang lamented her poor judgment of people.

Then she looked at the tight-lipped Xia Yu and irritably asked, “What, aren’t you happy about it?!”

Xia Yu wasn’t unhappy. If he had no feelings for Zhu Mei, how could he have cooperated with the brown bear to stage a princess-rescue Hollywood-style scene? How could he have schemed so hard to bring Zhu Mei here?

It was only because he considered Xu Youxiang and An Siyao’s opinions that he kept Zhu Mei at arm’s length.

“In a month, we’ll go to Zone 14,” Xu Youxiang said.

Xia Yu nodded expressionlessly, feeling that any expression at this point would be inappropriate.

“Well then, let’s just go back to whatever we were doing,” Xu Youxiang grabbed her laptop and started typing.

An Siyao walked toward the door, and Xia Yu followed.

A pillow flew toward the back of Xia Yu’s head, which he caught. He looked at Xu Youxiang, who had thrown it.

“Where do you think you’re going? You’re mine today!” Though her words were assertive, Xu Youxiang’s gaze was somewhat evasive.

Returning to Xu Youxiang’s bedside, Xia Yu looked into her eyes.

Late at night, Xia Yu looked at Xu Youxiang in his arms and asked, “Is this really okay?”

“Otherwise, what would you do? A queen sounds better than a mistress,” Xu Youxiang poked Xia Yu’s chest. “You must be satisfied, actually managing to get a queen, and even being able to play master-and-pet games with her.”

“???” Xia Yu frowned at Xu Youxiang.

Xu Youxiang felt Xia Yu’s gaze gradually turning perverted.

“What are you planning to do?” she became alert and tried to change the subject. “I’m tired; let’s go to sleep.”

She turned her back to him after speaking.

Xia Yu grabbed her shoulders and turned her face toward his. “I feel like the master-and-pet game does sound pretty good. Call me Master now!”

“In your dreams!”

They played and laughed for a while before falling asleep.

The next morning, Xia Yu received a call from An Tiansheng. After a night of spreading, Zhu Mei’s words had finally reached An Tiansheng’s ears.

Xia Yu pressed the answer button. An Tiansheng didn’t even bother with greetings and directly asked, “Is that you the queen referred to?”

“Yeah.” Xia Yu felt a bit uneasy, not knowing how An Tiansheng would react.

“You’re quite something! You even managed to go overseas; a queen proposed to you at a press conference,” An Tiansheng’s voice carried envy. “But have you really thought it through?”

“This is a near-perfect choice,” Xia Yu said.

“Tsk, a queen. Then don’t even think about getting a penny from us,” An Tiansheng had already accepted it; the title of queen sounded pretty good.

“I didn’t expect your assets anyway,” Xia Yu replied.

“You’re a bit strange,” An Tiansheng chatted casually. “When I first met you, I thought you were ruthless and skilled in business, just like me. I didn’t expect you to become such a sentimental person. And with all my assets, you’re not even eyeing them?”

“What do I need so many assets for? Enough to live on is fine,” Xia Yu casually replied. “Leave your assets to An Feixiong.”

“I can do that, but it’ll be tough for Old Yu Liang. He only has Yao—Yao Yao—as his heir. Wait for him to come after you,” An Tiansheng said, nearly gleeful.

“I’ve already thought about that; it’s not a problem,” Xia Yu replied confidently.

“How is it not a problem? Do you plan to be the king of Zone 14 and also take Yu family’s assets?” An Tiansheng was curious.

“That’s something I can’t tell you,” Xia Yu refused to disclose. “My grandfather’s assets will also have an heir; you’ll know in some time.”

After a couple more casual remarks, Xia Yu hung up.

At noon, Yu Liang indeed called.

Picking up the phone, before Yu Liang could speak, Xia Yu said, “You still have Yu Ningmeng.”

Yu Liang felt a lump in his chest, unable to speak. Indeed, he had Yu Ningmeng, his illegitimate daughter.

“In the future, you’ll be two generations above the king; everyone will show you respect,” Xia Yu cheerfully said, smoothly dealing with Yu Liang.
