Chapter 385: It’s the Beauty Carving!

Faced with inquiries from the higher-ups, the crew-cut man replied, “It’s the Golden Eagle!”

“Golden Eagle? Is there a border unit with that name?” the higher-ups asked, puzzled.

“No, it’s not a border unit!” the crew-cut man was just about to explain when Diaoyu dropped a stone, forcing him to dodge urgently.

“Not a border unit? Then is it a local armed police force? I recall there’s a Golden Eagle unit in the armed police,” the higher-ups mused, stroking their chin.

“No, it’s not local police either. It’s the Golden Eagle itself, the flying one!” the crew-cut man said, growing somewhat frustrated.

“Can fly? Did you mess with the Air Force?” The higher-ups were utterly shocked.

“No, it’s not the Air Force. It’s the eagle, the one with feathers!” the crew-cut man tried to clarify, but then saw Diaoyu swooping again and hurriedly changed magazines.

“Zhang Yumao’s eagle? Who’s that?” the higher-ups were completely confused.

“It’s an animal, the animal Golden Eagle, not a person!” the crew-cut man felt he had made himself perfectly clear.

“Got it, are you out hunting or something?” the higher-ups frowned, somewhat displeased.

“No, we’re being attacked by a Golden Eagle!” the crew-cut man explained seriously.

“Hahaha!” the higher-ups burst into laughter. “Alright, no more jokes. If you’re hunting, just don’t neglect your main mission. Now where are you?”

The crew-cut man wanted to say more, but sensing the higher-ups wouldn’t believe him, he swallowed his words.

Better to just say they were attacked by the Golden Eagle border unit!

“We’re at Masai Mountain now, and we’ll soon reach the border,” the crew-cut man gave up explaining.

“Good, call me once you cross,” the higher-ups hung up the phone.

“What the hell,” the crew-cut man muttered, stuffing the phone back into his pocket. He removed the empty magazine and loaded a new one, only then realizing how quickly the bullets had been used up.

“Stop!” the crew-cut man shouted to his companions. “Conserve ammo.”

In the sky, Diaoyu noticed the shooting had stopped. He flew to a nearby mountain, picked up two stones, and resumed his stone attacks.

With the four below now conserving ammunition, Xia Yu was able to aim at a lower altitude. Previously, his accuracy had dropped significantly at higher altitudes, giving the four below more reaction time.

After completing his calculations, Xia Yu first released the stone in his left claw. From high above, the stone plummeted toward Chicken Nest Head.

Chicken Nest Head rolled sideways, dodging the stone. But before he could even feel relieved, Xia Yu released the second stone from his right claw.

Chicken Nest Head didn’t see the second stone falling because no one could keep watching the sky while rolling sideways.

The stone struck his shoulder. He cried out in pain and collapsed to the ground.

“Watch out!” the crew-cut man and the bald man shouted to Chicken Nest Head, but he had no strength left to react.

Picking up another stone from the nearby slope, Xia Yu dropped another stone onto Chicken Nest Head’s other shoulder.

This time, both of Chicken Nest Head’s arms were rendered useless, and he was out of the fight.

Following the same method, Xia Yu took out the remaining henchman.

Now only the crew-cut man and the bald man remained standing.

They were much more skilled than Chicken Nest Head, so Xia Yu’s stones couldn’t accurately hit them.

Xia Yu abandoned the stones and dove straight at the two.

Of the four guns, only two remained. Xia Yu could barely dodge them—it was the bullets that were fast, not the shooters’ movements. As long as he dodged before they aimed, he’d be safe.

As Diaoyu drew closer, the bald man’s face paled. He quickly rolled aside, dodging Diaoyu’s claws.

However, Diaoyu still scratched his back.

“Back to the car!” the bald man shouted.

The two immediately retreated into the vehicle.

Xia Yu wasn’t upset at failing to break through. Trying to take on a fully armed squad with just an eagle’s body was never easy.

Do they really think hiding in the minivan and closing the doors will protect them?

Circling to escape their sight, Xia Yu approached from the rear of the van.

He arrived at the door.

The two hadn’t locked the door, thinking the Golden Eagle wouldn’t be able to open it.

Kicking a stone to the other side of the van to distract them, Diaoyu suddenly yanked the door open, ready to drag them out.

Xia Yu had expected at most two handguns inside—but what he saw was a machine gun.

Xia Yu could dodge handguns, but not a machine gun.

He quickly spread his wings and soared upward as gunfire erupted from below.

Had he been a moment slower, he’d have been riddled with bullets.

They even had a machine gun!

The sudden appearance of the machine gun disrupted Xia Yu’s plan, just like when he faced the brown bear. He couldn’t match heavy firepower with just an animal’s body.

Unless he used firepower too.

Rather than flying straight up, Xia Yu glided past Chicken Nest Head and grabbed his handgun.

He wasn’t just an ordinary Golden Eagle—he was an eagle that could shoot!

However, using a gun with an eagle’s body still required some practice.

Better to let them relax a bit first.

Inside the van, the bald man and the crew-cut man warily scanned their surroundings. After about ten seconds of silence, they cautiously peeked out at the sky.

“It seems to have left?” the crew-cut man said.

The bald man relaxed slightly but remained cautious. “Damn it, what the hell was that thing!”

He glanced at Chicken Nest Head and Henchman No.1 groaning outside, then at the parting-hair unconscious in the driver’s seat, and recalled Henchman No.2 pushed off the cliff. He clenched his teeth.

They had been defeated by a single eagle?

“This eagle isn’t normal,” the crew-cut man also felt on edge. Earlier, when he called the higher-ups, he thought a single eagle was nothing to worry about. He never expected to be pushed into this situation.

The bald man grew restless, gripping the machine gun tightly. “I’ve shot eagles before. Normally a few shots would do, but even the machine gun couldn’t kill it. What the hell is it!”

“That’s the messenger of the gods!” the tied-up butler interrupted. “Because you kidnapped the prince, this happened! If you send us back now, you still have a chance to survive!”

The butler spouted nonsense, not believing it himself, but hoping against hope that they might buy it.

The bald man was panicking, but still had his wits. He punched the butler in the stomach, silencing him.

He believed it was more likely that they had angered the eagle when they fired shots after exiting the highway.

“No worries, night will fall in a few hours. Then the eagle will leave,” the crew-cut man said calmly, though he felt deeply humiliated inside.

Actually being forced into hiding like a turtle!

“Right, as long as we stay in the van and guard the door, we’ll be safe. Can that eagle attack from a distance?” the bald man forced a smile, trying to reassure himself.

The next second, he heard a gunshot, and a blossom of blood erupted from his right shoulder.
