Chapter 202: The Good, the Bad, and the Deceitful

After entering the school, Xia Yu realized he had been too hasty, still holding the helmet in his hand. He was too lazy to put it back and just kept carrying it.

Following Yin Ling, Xia Yu arrived at her classroom.

“Who is the guy who blackmailed you?” Xia Yu asked Yin Ling.

Yin Ling pointed at someone in the back row.

It was a short-haired girl chatting with a male student. She looked like no good at first glance.

Xia Yu didn’t bother with any formalities and walked directly into the classroom, grabbing her hand.

“What are you doing? Who are you?” the short-haired girl struggled.

“I’m Yin Ling’s grandma.”

Upon hearing Xia Yu’s response, the short-haired girl immediately fell silent and stopped struggling.

Dragging her out of the classroom, Xia Yu glanced back at several boys who had followed to watch the commotion. The boys immediately ran back and even pulled down the curtain, fearing Xia Yu would come after them.

With the appearance Yin Shuyu currently had, even adults would be frightened, let alone these children.

The short-haired girl, after clearly seeing Xia Yu’s appearance, had already started trembling.

Leather jacket, leather pants, a motorcycle helmet, and white hair—it was the epitome of a villain straight out of a TV show!

“Wha…what do you want? Let me tell you, I have lots of older brothers at school!” the short-haired girl threatened Xia Yu shakily.

Hearing this, Xia Yu frowned.

Was there another bullying gang in this school?

“Fine, I’ll give you a chance. Go call them here now and see if they can save you.” Xia Yu planned to deal with this group all at once.

To prevent the short-haired girl from escaping, Xia Yu added, “Don’t even think about running. If you run today, next time I won’t be as lenient with you as I am today—unless you plan never to come to school again.”

Nodding nervously, the short-haired girl first ran downstairs, knocked on the doors of two ninth-grade classrooms, and summoned three people. Then, the four of them ran to the neighboring high school section to gather more people.

Ten minutes later, a group of twelve people, led by a chubby boy, stood before Xia Yu.

The chubby boy approached Xia Yu: “It’s you, old man, who bullied our little sister?”

Xia Yu immediately grabbed the chubby boy’s ear: “How dare you speak like that? Didn’t your mom teach you to respect the elderly?”

“Let go of my brother!” The other eleven immediately prepared to attack.

Their hearts were filled with rage, their fists eager for action.

This old man actually dared to challenge their gang’s authority—they must teach him a lesson!

Approaching closer, they met Xia Yu’s gaze. That look reminded them of a venomous snake they had encountered by the river years ago.

They shivered involuntarily, their hot-blooded fury cooling, replaced by fear.

Xia Yu snorted coldly, yanked the chubby boy’s ear again, then released him. He slapped each of the remaining eleven on the head once.

Only the short-haired girl, who had been cowering in fear, was spared.

Xia Yu glared at them sternly: “You’ve learned quite a lot at school, haven’t you? ‘My brother,’ ‘her sister’—do you think you’re someone important?”

Such a gang of students calling each other brothers, Xia Yu had encountered something similar in his previous life—just a bunch of delinquents who skipped school. The most famous among them was the “Kill Mart” family.

No one in the group responded.

Xia Yu grabbed the chubby boy’s ear again: “No more calling each other brothers at school, understand?”

“Bu…but…” the chubby boy stuttered slightly, “how else should we call each other?”

Frowning, Xia Yu thought the chubby boy might still be defiant. But suddenly, a thought struck him.

He pointed at the short-haired girl and asked the chubby boy: “Who is she to you?”

“My cousin.” The chubby boy answered, looking wronged.

“And him?” Xia Yu pointed to another boy behind.

“My cousin, from my grandfather’s elder brother’s family.” Composing himself, the chubby boy dropped his pitiful expression and assumed a well-behaved look.

“And him?”

“My maternal cousin, from my uncle’s family.”

“And him?”

“My uncle—he’s younger than me, but he’s of an older generation.”

Under Xia Yu’s questioning, the chubby boy clarified the kinship relationships of everyone present.

“…”

So they were actually real relatives?

The students in the school were all from the small town, so it wasn’t strange that they were related.

“Just because you’re real brothers doesn’t mean you can bully others!” Xia Yu slapped the chubby boy’s head again.

“We understand, we understand. We get it.” The twelve quickly assured him.

Seeing that they didn’t argue back at all and admitted their fault readily, Xia Yu realized they indeed had done many bullying deeds. The slight guilt he had felt from the misunderstanding vanished completely.

“You’re a large group; you should protect your classmates at school, understand?” Xia Yu added.

“Understood, understood.” The twelve responded readily.

“If I ever hear someone bullying my granddaughter at school, I’ll hold you responsible!” Xia Yu revealed his true intention.

“You can count on us!” the twelve guaranteed.

“Alright, you may go.” Xia Yu waved his hand, letting them leave.

Ignoring the short-haired girl’s pleading look for help, her twelve “older brothers” gave her a “good luck” look and hurriedly ran back to their classroom.

They had been deeply frightened by Xia Yu. Never before had they encountered someone as terrifying as a venomous snake.

The scene was left with only the short-haired girl.

Leaning against the wall, Xia Yu crossed his arms: “Talk. What’s your story?”

The short-haired girl started crying in fear. She sobbed: “I just saw Yin Ling eating chocolate candy in class. It looked delicious, so I threatened her that if she didn’t give me hush money, I’d tell the teacher.”

Xia Yu looked at Yin Ling, who turned her gaze away, indicating the short-haired girl was telling the truth.

“Yesterday we agreed she would give me five pieces as hush money, but today she reneged. I pushed her a little, she bumped into a chair, then she threatened me, demanding five candies, saying she’d tell my mom I hit her if I didn’t give them to her.” The short-haired girl cried even harder at this point, “Those candies were so expensive, I even borrowed money from my brothers.”

Xia Yu looked at Yin Ling again. This time, she not only looked away but also tried to move her body aside.

Grabbing Yin Ling’s hand, Xia Yu sighed. What a mess.

He had been too worried, thinking it was something serious.

Letting Yin Ling wait aside, Xia Yu used soothing techniques to calm the short-haired girl.

The short-haired girl had indeed started the trouble first. Yin Ling had indeed hit her leg because of her. But it wasn’t intentional. Afterwards, out of guilt, she had easily been tricked by Yin Ling into giving five candies.

It was normal for kids to have minor accidents. As long as it wasn’t intentional, it wasn’t a big deal.

Considering the short-haired girl had started the trouble, Xia Yu had already frightened her enough—perhaps even too much.

As the short-haired girl was calming down and about to fall asleep, Xia Yu stopped soothing her.

He took her hand: “It’s just candies. It’s not a big deal. Come on, I’ll take you both to buy more.”

Grabbing Yin Ling’s hand as well, Xia Yu took the two girls to the school convenience store and bought a pile of candies.

The two girls held hands and happily returned to the classroom.

Peeling off the wrapper, Xia Yu put a candy in his mouth and left the school.

He got on his motorcycle and drove back.

Just leaving the small town, he was stopped by ten men.
