Chapter 198: Looking Back on the Past

When Xia Yu returned home, it was already evening.

“Brother!” You Xue happily opened the door for him and helped him get his slippers ready.

After changing shoes, Xia Yu threw the backpack behind him onto the sofa.

“How do you feel? Why did you come back so quickly? Did you feel Apollo’s call? Did you compose a new piece?” The girl had many questions.

“It was just a sudden whim, and then I found it uninteresting and came back. Nothing special,” Xia Yu replied. “If I had to say how I feel, it’s that I’m extremely tired.”

These past days, nearly half the time had been spent by Xia Yu on high-speed trains. Sitting on a train seat for extended periods was no easy task; even lying down for long durations could cause back pain, let alone sitting.

His body was still an ordinary one, so naturally, he felt fatigue.

He sighed, thinking that he was already a millionaire, yet still had to run around in person.

Other protagonists who obtained wealth would visit car dealerships today, watch stores tomorrow, and buy property the day after. He didn’t even have time to do such things.

Thinking now, it seemed he had only enjoyed a relaxed period for two months after participating in the musical instrument competition.

After Xu Youxiang’s leg condition worsened, he first went to Yaoguang and Afang, spending days gathering intelligence and nights seeking medical enhancement from renowned doctors.

Later, he managed to get a mission and began daily psychological counseling sessions for the girls. Psychological counseling was no easy task; every word needed careful consideration, which was very energy-draining.

Then, while learning the Chinese bamboo flute and sheng himself, he had to teach An Siyao and compose music, squeezing in time to complete and sell a piece of software in between.

After finishing the performance in the second district and completing the mission, he went to help Yin Shulan prosper. Fortunately, the money from selling the software provided some savings; otherwise, he would have had to toil for a long time at Yin Shulan’s place.

Now, having stayed with Yin Shulan for a while, he had grown somewhat accustomed to it. Initially, using an elderly body had felt very awkward. Any young person suddenly finding themselves in an aged body would feel strange.

All of this was for treating Xu Youxiang’s leg.

Sitting on the sofa, Xia Yu didn’t want to get up anymore.

“Come eat,” You Xue reached out to pull him up.

Xia Yu was an adult’s weight, and the thirteen-year-old girl couldn’t lift him.

“I’m too tired. You feed me, You Xue,” Xia Yu joked shamelessly with his sister.

You Xue hesitated for a moment. Seeing Xia Yu’s expression didn’t seem to be pretending, she realized he was genuinely exhausted.

Coming to the dining table, You Xue brought the dishes to the coffee table.

Holding Xia Yu’s bowl, she was about to feed him.

Taking the bowl, Xia Yu tapped the girl’s head: “Just kidding.”

“You bad brother!” You Xue glared unhappily at Xia Yu.

“A bad brother wouldn’t prepare a gift for his sister, so I’ll give your gift to someone else then,” Xia Yu added.

“Gift? Where? Where?” You Xue was immediately distracted.

Giving the girl the amulet he had bought on the way, Xia Yu knew she liked such things.

“Is this an amulet from Xianfeng Temple?” You Xue lovingly held the amulet.

“It was obtained from Xianfeng Temple. Absolutely genuine,” Xia Yu replied.

“My brother is the best!”

The girl joyfully went into her room to put the amulet away carefully.

After she came out, the two of them picked a movie to watch while having dinner.

After dinner, leaving the dishwashing to You Xue, Xia Yu took a shower and returned to his bedroom.

Lying on the bed, he picked up his phone.

Xu Youxiang had sent him a message.

“Don’t let your call-answering robot pick up my calls anymore!”

“Okay okay okay,” Xia Yu replied.

“Now, who are you?” Xu Youxiang immediately became alert.

“Guess”

“This perverted feeling—it must be you in person without a doubt.”

“???”

From just those five words, you could sense my perversion?

Not responding to that, Xia Yu asked if anything had happened on her end.

With Xu Youxiang, it was like having a spy inserted into An’s villa; he could know about any developments.

“No major issues”

The two chatted casually for a while, and Xu Youxiang brought up college:

“Uncle An has arranged everything. By next semester, I’ll return to Huadong University for classes. Then I’ll be your senior!”

Xia Yu was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Xu Youxiang to attend classes.

That wasn’t the main point. The bigger issue was that An Siyao would also attend Huadong University. Would the three of them end up together?

Suddenly, he felt a headache coming.

Well, he’d deal with it when the time came.

He thought to himself that there were still five months until the next semester began.

This timeframe coincided with a critical period.

If Xu Youxiang’s leg hadn’t improved by September, she would face amputation. After that, there would be no possibility of attending classes.

However, Xia Yu wouldn’t let this happen. As recalled earlier, for these past two months, Xia Yu had almost devoted all his energy to her case. Now, the troublesome preliminary events had already been resolved. It was just a matter of spending time to improve his pharmaceutical skills before beginning treatment for Xu Youxiang.

By devoting all his time, Xia Yu could at least invest 150 experience cards at Yin Shulan’s place, sufficient to raise pharmaceutical skills to LV5. Even if LV5 couldn’t fully cure Xu Youxiang’s leg, it would certainly prevent amputation.

Thinking this far, Xia Yu sent a message:

“Don’t worry. Everything is going smoothly. I will definitely heal you.”

“Hmph, if you can’t heal me, you’ll only have a monster with just the upper half of her body left. Oh, maybe you pervert would be even more excited about that?” Xu Youxiang replied.

Xia Yu knew that Xu Youxiang was only joking. If she really lost her legs, given her personality, she wouldn’t accept such a version of herself and would choose to leave instead.

He replied:

“My happiness is at stake. Nothing will go wrong. Everything is optimistic. No problems whatsoever.”

In her bed, Xu Youxiang stared at Xia Yu’s reply for a while, her face slowly reddening.

What did he mean by “My happiness is at stake”?

Holding her phone, she rolled on the bed, her heart filled with sweetness.

After rolling around for a dozen times, An Siyao’s image suddenly flashed through her mind.

Stopping still, Xu Youxiang pondered. Although she was currently ahead, An Siyao was definitely not someone to be underestimated. In fact, that pervert had initially come for An Siyao. It was just a twist of fate that she had gotten there first.

She stopped replying to Xia Yu’s message and began thinking of plans.

After waiting for a long time without receiving a reply, Xia Yu also fell asleep.

At midnight, he was woken by an alarm clock. He logged into Tina’s body to check the situation, confirmed everything was fine, and went back to sleep.

In the morning, Xia Yu woke up full of energy.

Thanks to his telepathic connection, sleeping with the white cat in Tina’s body had been very comfortable, leaving him refreshed and energetic.

He casually played video games at home until the afternoon.

At three in the afternoon, he went to school to watch the basketball game that Gui Zixiao had mentioned. Xia Xue, who had just gotten out of school, followed him there.
