Chapter 156: The Father-in-law’s Invitation

Xia Yu answered An Siyao’s question first, “Gathering students in the academy is a personal matter of mine, but it’s not important. If you mind, I won’t do it again.”

“No, I think it’s quite interesting,” An Siyao replied.

“The image I’ve established is quite different from who I really am. Aren’t you afraid that I might be exposed someday?” Xia Yu asked again.

“If you were exposed, you could still handle it, right?” An Siyao’s reply was quick. Xia Yu couldn’t accurately grasp the girl’s emotions from this conversation.

Without facial expressions or body language, only hearing the voice makes it difficult to judge the other person’s state.

“Ah,” Xia Yu simply responded. After finishing his morning hygiene routine, he skillfully braided An Siyao’s hair into a trendy style and went downstairs.

After breakfast, he took the driver’s car to the academy.

As soon as he got off the car, students greeted him. Some students from a distance even specifically came over just to say good morning to him.

This was a manifestation of his popularity.

Xia Yu responded to each greeting and headed toward the classroom.

Outside the classroom, he met two teachers.

“Good morning,” the two teachers greeted Xia Yu.

“Morning,” Xia Yu smiled in response.

“Can you save me a spot this afternoon?” One of the teachers took the opportunity to ask.

The beds in the therapy room were now in short supply.

Even retired teachers who no longer taught but only held honorary positions at the school would come specially. For these elderly people, being able to sleep well was extremely important.

“Okay,” Xia Yu agreed.

Watching the two teachers walk away, Xia Yu rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

As adults, teachers had more worries than students. They always cut in line, taking up spots meant for students, which brought Xia Yu some annoyance.

However, this also brought a benefit.

Since the teachers needed his help, they naturally treated him very well. And this treatment, when seen by the students, deepened their impression of him.

Teachers were the authority in the academy, and now Xia Yu had gained their approval.

Arriving at the classroom, Xia Yu absentmindedly let his mind wander.

Today was the 12th, Wednesday. There were still four days until next week when he would meet An Siyao again.

What would the girl be like when she wasn’t possessed by him?

After finishing the day’s classes, Xia Yu came to the therapy room, where people were already waiting outside.

Fortunately, the students at Dongzhi Xiang Academy were young ladies who had received high-quality education. They were self-disciplined and wouldn’t come to disturb Xia Yu unless they really had troubling matters or were genuinely tired. Even so, they had created a group chat among themselves to schedule the bed spots voluntarily.

Usually, only two or three students who had been treated by Xia Yu during the day would come.

However, this didn’t mean Xia Yu could recruit seventeen or eighteen new students per day because the group of teachers would take up five or six spots.

Although adults had greater stress, the number of teachers was far less than that of students. The reason the teachers occupied twice as many spots as the students was entirely because they were more shameless.

Xia Yu didn’t care much about these teachers, dealing with each in just five minutes.

By 4:30 PM, there was still one bed left in the therapy room.

The teacher who had made an appointment with Xia Yu in the morning walked in.

“Good thing I’m the last one,” the teacher smiled. She hadn’t had any particular troubles lately, just some insomnia, so she had come to “steal a nap.”

Before she could reach the bed, a voice came from behind her.

“What do you mean the last one?” It was the principal who had entered.

Looking at the principal and then at the last empty spot, the teacher suddenly slapped her thigh, “Oh right, I haven’t collected my laundry at home. I’ll forget it today and go back first!”

With that, she walked out of the therapy room.

Satisfied with the departing teacher, the principal lay down on the last bed.

The principal was a regular customer, but unlike other teachers who only came for a good sleep, she genuinely had worries.

During the first session, Xia Yu couldn’t get the principal to talk, but during subsequent treatments, she revealed her secret.

Xia Yu placed his hand on the principal’s head, and immediately she began to vent.

“That bastard came to ask me for money again! I just gave him ten thousand three days ago! I told him I had no more money, but he actually told me to take it from the school…”

In short, it was the principal’s good-for-nothing son constantly asking for money, forcing the principal, who originally didn’t care about school matters, to return and reassert her authority in an attempt to embezzle school funds.

Fortunately, the students in the therapy room were already asleep; otherwise, hearing this conversation could have caused a major incident.

The principal choosing to speak this out meant she had already made a decision. Xia Yu simply followed her thoughts.

“Ten thousand today, one hundred thousand tomorrow, one million the day after…”

The words didn’t need to be eloquent. Just reiterating the key points in the principal’s mind to reinforce her determination was enough.

Twenty minutes later, after covering the sleeping principal with a blanket, Xia Yu walked out of the therapy room.

Instead of going home immediately, he went to the student council room nearby and stood on the balcony looking at the scenery below.

Due to the issue with her son, the principal would be under his influence for quite some time. Most of the students were already his patients. This academy was basically under his control.

He should talk to the principal about limiting the number of teachers coming in, so he could recruit all the students under his wing sooner.

Once all the students were taken care of, in the future, he would only need to deal with five or six students who felt stressed, and wouldn’t be as busy as he was now.

He still didn’t know if this could complete the mission. If not, he would have to find other ways elsewhere.

After appreciating his “kingdom,” Xia Yu returned to the villa and logged out of the game.

He looked at the diary written by Tuoguan Yi.

Everything was normal today, nothing particularly noteworthy.

Putting down the diary, Xia Yu casually pulled a book from the bookshelf to read.

The next morning, as usual, he came to the dining room for breakfast and saw an unusually cheerful Kong Hanyue.

Seeing Xia Yu come downstairs, Kong Hanyue excitedly waved at him.

“I knew you could do it, Yu Yu!” Kong Hanyue had already received the news from Zhong Yunze.

She kicked Zhong Yunze again, “From now on, if you have any problems, go to your Ge Ge.”

Zhong Yunze couldn’t argue and could only remain silent.

“This was just a coincidence,” Xia Yu was somewhat troubled by Kong Hanyue’s trust. How could he possibly be all-powerful?

“I know, it’s always a coincidence when you do it!” Waving her fork, Kong Hanyue said playfully.

“Because he’s your big brother!” Xu Xue also chimed in.

Not responding to the two, Xia Yu continued eating his breakfast.

Before he finished and left, Zhong Yunze spoke up, “Uncle An wants to invite you to dinner. Is five o’clock tonight okay?”

An Tianfeng inviting him for dinner? Xia Yu was somewhat surprised.
