Chapter 931: Hunting Operation

As heirs of Brut Capital Group, they had access to numerous information channels, including updates on the movements of Sky Group. With Sky Group accumulating so much capital, Century Conglomerate would likely face a tough time.

“You inherited Brut Capital Group, and I will take over Century Conglomerate. We each get what we want,” Nie Yan didn’t deny.

Duo Duo didn’t expect Nie Yan to admit it so readily. In the arena of capital markets, if someone else gets wind of it in advance and large-scale capital intervenes, the opportunity might be snatched away, leaving one to work for another’s benefit.

“If you want to join in, I wouldn’t mind giving you a share,” Nie Yan said straightforwardly.

“I’ll think about it carefully,” Duo Duo replied. He still needed to strike a heavy blow against Angel Wing. He wasn’t sure if he could spare the energy. Since Nie Yan had proposed cooperation so openly, if he secretly plotted behind the scenes, it would seem rather unprincipled.

Nie Yan smiled. He had his own considerations. While they were targeting Century Conglomerate, if Duo Duo suddenly intervened, it could disrupt their plans, leading to failure at the last moment. By proposing it so plainly, if Duo Duo agreed to join their ranks and combine their forces, Century Conglomerate would suffer even more, and each of them would gain greater benefits.

“I can put in ten billion,” Duo Duo said after some thought. With such a promising opportunity and huge profits to be made, he certainly wouldn’t want to miss out.

“Then we’ll stay in touch,” Nie Yan said. Century Conglomerate had just suffered a major defeat in Faith, and it was the perfect time to strike while the iron was hot. They must act quickly and not miss the opportunity.

After chatting for a while, Nie Yan took his leave. His purpose in coming had been achieved—at least for a long time to come, war between the Light and Dark factions wouldn’t break out.

Watching Nie Yan’s retreating figure, Duo Duo pondered for a moment. In future conflicts, Nie Yan would undoubtedly be a formidable opponent. However, upon reflection, that possibility seemed unlikely. He wouldn’t provoke a war without reason, inviting such a powerful adversary. Likewise, Nie Yan also held him in considerable caution.

Returning to the guild, Nie Yan found Bull Tribe immersed in celebration, a scene of jubilation everywhere.

Within just a few days, Bull Tribe had opened twenty new branches, carefully selected and recruited over three million players, who were led by Bull Tribe to control various strongholds.

Bull Tribe controlled more than 300 strongholds, most of which would be developed by Sky Group. Once these strongholds were secured, Sky Group would earn massive profits.

Cui Can Daoguang (Cui Can Blade Light), Shui Se Yantou (Water-colored Cigarette), and others could finally relax. Every top member received generous rewards, and the future profits were certain. Players who followed Nie Yan in building the empire also reaped substantial benefits. Nie Yan had distributed nearly 300 million gold coins’ worth of items and about 30% equity in all the strongholds, which would allow them to enjoy a comfortable middle-class life in the real world.

This also marked the resolution of one of Nie Yan’s major concerns. With large-scale wars unlikely in the future, he could simply enjoy the fruits of his success.

After confirming that all strongholds were secure, Nie Yan instructed Guo Huai to keep a close watch on the remnants of Angel Empire and Century Conglomerate. Then he sent a message to Xie Yao: “Quit the game.”

“Okay,” Xie Yao nodded, as Nie Yan had already discussed this with her.

Both of them logged out of the game.

Nie Yan emerged from the game pod and glanced at another pod nearby. Xie Yao was still undressed, her naked body revealing smooth, delicate skin and an alluring figure.

“Are we leaving tonight?” Xie Yao asked. Feeling Nie Yan’s intense gaze, her cheeks flushed slightly. Although a bit shy, she thought that there were no barriers left between them. She straightened her chest, fully displaying her beauty before Nie Yan.

“Yeah, hurry up and get ready. We’re leaving right away!” Nie Yan looked away and nodded.

It took nearly twenty minutes to get everything ready. Nie Yan got into the Solon, with Xie Yao sitting in the front passenger seat. Together, they headed toward Hua Hai.

The Solon sped swiftly through the night, its tail lights leaving behind streaks of neon light.

About two hours later, the Solon slowly entered Hua Hai and arrived at the luxurious, brightly lit Record Hotel, which belonged to the Zheng Rong Conglomerate.

Unknown to anyone, a world-shocking event was about to unfold in this hotel.

As Nie Yan and Xie Yao prepared to head to the top floor of Record Hotel, a heated argument suddenly came from the elevator area.

“You’ve got the gall to do this! Liu Dongming, don’t refuse a kind offer. Don’t forget I’m still the deputy director of Zheng Rong Conglomerate. If I’m not happy, I can fire you as head of security anytime!” a woman shouted shrilly.

Hearing this voice, Nie Yan and Xie Yao exchanged glances. They both recognized the speaker immediately—none other than Xie Yao’s aunt, Xie Yi, and they headed straight toward the elevator.

“Sorry, Deputy Director, but the chairman specifically ordered that only core internal personnel can enter the top floor of the hotel,” a voice replied calmly.

“So you’re saying I’m not considered a core member of Zheng Rong Conglomerate?” Xie Yi’s eyebrows furrowed.

“That’s not what I meant. The chairman said your position as deputy director will be revoked in ten days. During this period, you are not allowed to participate in any group-related affairs or enter the top floor of the hotel. If you have any dissatisfaction, please take it up with the chairman,” a middle-aged man in a security uniform replied politely. He dared not go too far since Xie Yi was from the Xie family.

“You…” Xie Yi angrily pointed at Liu Dongming, truly a fallen phoenix no longer respected, never imagining she’d be ignored by a mere hotel security guard from Zheng Rong Conglomerate.

Nie Yan and Xie Yao walked over.

“Little Aunt, you shouldn’t make it hard for Old Liu anymore. After all, he’s only following orders,” Xie Yao spoke up.

Liu Dongming, grateful for Xie Yao’s intervention, said, “Thank you, Miss,” and stepped aside.

During this period, Zheng Rong Conglomerate had undergone tremendous changes. Xie Yao’s father, Xie Jun, was now nominally the chairman, while Xie Yi had been expelled from the board and was in the final stages of handing over her responsibilities.

Seeing Nie Yan, Xie Yi’s face turned pale. She knew that her current situation was entirely due to him. She had misjudged him back then. At that time, Sky Group was merely an unknown small company, but now it had grown into a globally renowned conglomerate, expanding so rapidly that it was catching up and even surpassing Zheng Rong and Long Yue Conglomerates. The young man she had once mocked was now on the rise. The current Nie Yan was someone she couldn’t afford to provoke, whether considering the backing of Mo Yuntian or Sky Group itself, even the chairmen of Zheng Rong and Long Yue Conglomerates treated Nie Yan with great respect. Moreover, with the engagement between Nie Yan and Xie Yao already set, any conflict would likely see the rest of the Xie family siding with Nie Yan.

Xie Yi snorted coldly.

Nie Yan didn’t want to see the detestable woman anymore. He lowered his head and said to Xie Yao, “Let’s go.”

“Okay,” Xie Yao nodded.

“Old Liu, tonight’s meeting is very important. Please ask any unrelated people to leave, no need to be polite,” Nie Yan said indifferently, his voice carrying an authority that was hard to resist.

“Yes, Master Nie,” Liu Dongming immediately responded solemnly. He understood Nie Yan’s current status, especially with the engagement to Xie Yao already set. Nie Yan would soon become one of the powerholders of the entire Xie family, and he couldn’t afford to offend him.

“You, an outsider, dare to give orders in our Xie family!” Naturally, Xie Yi understood the implication of Nie Yan’s words and was so angry her eyes turned black.

Nie Yan sneered and said, “Why? Don’t you already know?”

Nie Yan ignored Xie Yi and walked into the elevator with Xie Yao.

Liu Dongming looked at Xie Yi beside him and said, “Deputy Director, please leave. If you refuse, we’ll have to take action.”

Xie Yi looked at the three burly men beside her. As a woman, if things escalated, she would only end up at a disadvantage. She coldly huffed and said, “I’ll remember this! One day, you’ll see what’s coming!”

With her high heels clicking on the ground, Xie Yi left.

Watching Xie Yi’s retreating figure, Liu Dongming spat on the ground in disdain. The subordinates had long been resentful of this sharp-tongued deputy director. Today was indeed satisfying!

Liu Dongming glanced at the closed elevator. Master Nie and Miss Xie had arrived, along with many important figures. Xie Yi, the now powerless deputy director, had tried every means to get in but was excluded. Something significant must be happening.

Nie Yan and Xie Yao took the elevator all the way to the top floor. The corridor on the top floor was filled with guards, all fully armed. Passing through the long corridor, they entered the central hall. The central hall was crowded with more than a hundred people. Both of Xie Yao’s parents were there, along with high-level executives from Zheng Rong and Long Yue Conglomerates, and dozens of company bosses moving around busily. The atmosphere was extremely tense. Fifty to sixty computers were arranged in a semicircle, all displaying various charts. Nie Yan could only grasp the general idea of what was going on.

“Nie Yan, Xie Yao, you’re here,” Xie Jun greeted them when he saw them approach. He looked at Nie Yan, who was wearing a casual suit, exuding vigor and vitality. The more he looked, the more he admired him. He hadn’t expected his daughter to have such good taste. After all, Nie Yan had practically created history.

“Uncle, good to see you,” Nie Yan politely greeted.

“Dad,” Xie Yao smiled sweetly and linked arms with Xie Jun.

“Given today’s special circumstances, we won’t chat idly. Everyone is preparing. Let’s go,” Xie Jun said, leading Nie Yan and Xie Yao toward the center.

“Uncle, I just secured one hundred billion in funding,” Nie Yan said.

“Oh? Whose is it?” Xie Jun asked in surprise.

“A friend’s. I’ll notify him when the operation begins,” Nie Yan replied. He wanted to give advance notice so Xie Jun could prepare accordingly.
