Chapter 762: Locked Up!

This guy must be quite powerful, otherwise he wouldn’t have acquired so many high-grade herbs. Normally, a team of level 30 players with 100 silvers’ worth of gear, even if better equipped than him, might still struggle to obtain these kinds of high-grade herbs.

A paladin like him shouldn’t have been unknown in his past life. Nieren cast a high-level insight spell on the paladin.

The paladin’s name was Jingpin Laoda (Elite Boss). Nieren vaguely recalled hearing this name before, but apparently this person mainly operated within the Satern Empire, so Nieren wasn’t very familiar with him.

This guy was actually the leader of a guild called Radiant Empire.

Nieren couldn’t help but chuckle slightly. The name “Radiant Empire” did sound impressive, but he had never heard of such a guild before, so he assumed it was probably some obscure, small guild. There were likely tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands, of such insignificant guilds created by ordinary players with few members across the entire server.

Curious about the number of members in his guild, Nieren found it quite appropriate that he referred to himself as “Elite Boss,” as the title seemed to suit him perfectly.

Nieren actually found Jingpin Laoda somewhat interesting. If given the right conditions, this person probably had good potential for future development.

Seeing Jingpin Laoda arguing fiercely with the members of Angel Tyranny, and despite being threatened, still refusing to back down, Nieren decided to help him out.

Nieren walked directly toward Jingpin Laoda.

“Hey, buddy, how much for your herbs?” Nieren asked.

At the moment Nieren spoke, all eyes turned to him.

With Angel Tyranny surrounding him and the dispute ongoing, no one else dared to come forward to buy his herbs. Jingpin Laoda was getting anxious and was about to pack them away when he heard Nieren’s question. Overjoyed, he quickly replied, “Heart Revival Herb for 700 gold, Moonlight Herb and Silver Serpent Herb each for 900 gold.”

“That’s a very reasonable price, significantly lower than market value,” Nieren said calmly. “How many do you have in total? I’ll take all of them.”

Jingpin Laoda was momentarily stunned before quickly replying, “Three Heart Revival Herbs, two Moonlight Herbs, and five Silver Serpent Herbs. I’ll give you a discount—8,200 gold total.” He hadn’t expected Nieren to be so generous and willing to buy everything at once.

Nieren spoke with Jingpin Laoda as if no one else was there, completely ignoring the Angel Tyranny members nearby. The few people from Angel Tyranny immediately became furious.

“Hey, kid, who do you think you are, trying to snatch things from us? You must not want to play here anymore!” A minotaur warrior shouted, stepping to Nieren’s side.

“Get lost! These herbs are already ours. If you don’t want a beating, scram!” Another orc warrior shoved Nieren’s shoulder.

Nieren smiled coldly. In the game, no one had ever dared to act so aggressively toward him.

“Ask the paladin himself—did he actually sell these herbs to you?” Nieren’s tone was calm, but those familiar with him would know he was truly angry.

“These herbs haven’t been sold. Even if this brother here offers a lower price than you, I’ll still sell to him,” Jingpin Laoda replied. Seeing the Angel Tyranny members speaking rudely and even resorting to physical aggression, he finally unleashed the anger he had been suppressing. Nieren had stepped forward to help him, which was an act of righteousness. As the one directly involved, how could he remain passive? Even if Angel Tyranny declared him an enemy, he could always hide in the mountains.

“You think we won’t beat you up?” The minotaur warrior glared furiously at Jingpin Laoda.

“Go ahead and try! If you don’t, you’re a coward. I’m offering my face right here—go ahead and hit me if you dare!” Jingpin Laoda sneered. This was in the Orcish King’s City; if the minotaur warrior struck first, he would definitely be the first to be taken away by the city guards.

The minotaur warrior was furious, nearly swinging his greatsword several times, but he managed to restrain himself each time. He understood the serious consequences of attacking, so he dared not act recklessly.

An orc shaman pushed past the minotaur warrior and stepped forward from the crowd, staring at Nieren. “Buddy, who are you? State your name and clan. There are so many of us from Angel Tyranny here. Name your terms, and we’ll face you head-on. Hiding behind a cloak like this only makes you look cowardly.”

Nieren was still wearing his cloak, concealing his name and stats. They couldn’t identify him even with detection spells.

“You’ll know my name soon enough,” Nieren replied, turning to Jingpin Laoda as if no one else was there. “Let’s make the trade. I have a friend with some level 100 gear. Interested? I can give you a discount.”

“Sure! I was actually planning to go to the Grelan Empire to buy some paladin gear. There are too few paladin sets available in the Satern Empire. But I’ll need to check their stats first,” Jingpin Laoda replied after a moment’s thought.

“Of course,” Nieren nodded.

As the two prepared to trade, the Angel Tyranny members grew anxious. They still wanted those herbs badly, but the price was too high for them to afford. Most of them were barely level 30 players with limited income. How could they possibly come up with over 8,000 gold at once? Yet they were unwilling to give up, so they had been haggling for a while. Now seeing the items about to be taken by Nieren, they were furious.

“You damn coward! Hiding behind a cloak like that, you bastard!” The orc warrior beside them couldn’t hold back anymore and shoved Nieren hard.

System: You have been offended by the player Black Lion’s party. Guards will arrive in 20 seconds.

Jingpin Laoda also grew anxious and began cursing at the Angel Tyranny members. This guy had a sharp tongue, and once unleashed, he managed to argue fiercely against the entire group without being outmatched in the slightest.

The scene quickly became chaotic and on the verge of breaking into physical fights. However, it was limited to simple physical shoving, as no one dared to actually attack. Killing someone in the Orcish King’s City was nothing like doing so in the wild, where you could simply wait out your wanted status. Therefore, both sides remained relatively restrained.

The surrounding players, seeing the commotion, quickly stepped aside.

“Looks like there’s going to be a show.”

“I think Angel Tyranny is being quite domineering. When someone doesn’t want to sell, they keep forcing him. I wouldn’t like that either.”

“Angel Tyranny is such a big guild; it’s inevitable that some members might act arrogantly. But actually, Angel Tyranny is relatively well-managed. They rarely monopolize areas or anything like that.”

The player’s words were met with agreement from others.

The curses kept coming, and the physical shoving became more intense. Nieren didn’t want to argue with these people, but he heard several insults directed at himself—useful evidence.

Just as the argument reached its peak, a group of orc guards in full metal armor arrived, along with a high-ranking shaman wearing a complete set of golden robes and a commander’s insignia.

Everyone immediately stopped, exchanging uneasy glances. All of them looked nervously at the high-ranking shaman.

Normally, in such disputes, a regular guard would be sufficient to mediate. Only in the case of a fight would three to six guards arrive to clear the scene and arrest the culprits. But today, a high-ranking shaman had come, which was unexpected.

The high-ranking shaman was an orc, somewhat overweight, with wobbly fat all over his body. He was a head taller than the average orc and carried an air of authority.

Nieren cast an insight spell on him. The shaman’s name was Koka Keli, a Marquis.

“What’s going on? Why did a high-ranking shaman come here?”

“I don’t know.”

Encountering such a high-level NPC official, the players present immediately felt nervous.

Koka Keli walked toward Nieren. Several Angel Tyranny players couldn’t help but turn their gazes toward him, feeling anxious and confused.

“Honored Great Prophet Nieyan, greetings,” Koka Keli bowed deeply, his tone filled with reverence.

Upon hearing Koka Keli’s words, the entire scene fell silent. Everyone looked at Nieren in disbelief. Could it really be Nieyan the Rogue? Many thought they must have misheard, but seeing Koka Keli bowing, they finally understood.

“Great Prophet? What kind of title is that? Higher than this high-ranking shaman? Is he a Duke?”

A few players whispered softly. Everyone had already heard about Nieyan’s promotion to Great Prophet, but they had only heard it mentioned briefly. No one was clear about what the title meant or how much weight it carried. But now, seeing Koka Keli bow to Nieyan, they finally had a tangible understanding—how incredibly high-ranking the title of Great Prophet truly was.

The previously vague concept of “Great Prophet” suddenly became deeply ingrained in the minds of everyone present.

They waited in silence for developments. The Angel Tyranny members’ faces turned pale, their minds going blank. They hadn’t expected to provoke none other than Nieyan the Rogue, the most untouchable player in the game. Seeing Koka Keli’s attitude toward Nieyan, they realized just how dire the situation was.

Meanwhile, Jingpin Laoda was also stunned, staring at Nieyan in disbelief and stammering, “Brother, you… you really are Nieyan the Rogue?”

He still couldn’t believe it.

Nieren nodded with a smile. “Yes.”

Who would have thought that the person who came to his aid was none other than Nieyan the Rogue, the leader of the Bull Tribe, known as the Invincible Legend? Jingpin Laoda couldn’t help but feel a sense of honor. This was definitely an unforgettable experience for him. He quickly confirmed that he had already recorded the scene. When he returned and met up with his poor friends later, he could proudly say, “Bro once met Nieyan the Rogue, and Nieyan the Rogue even bought herbs from me!”

As they spoke, the guards had already seized the Angel Tyranny players, who were now even more panicking.

“Respected Great Prophet Nieyan, they have offended you. According to the laws of the Satern Empire, you have the authority to decide their punishment,” Koka Keli slightly bowed, waiting for Nieyan’s response.

“What’s the maximum prison sentence for them?” Nieyan asked. Killing them wasn’t as satisfying as locking them up.

“Three days,” Koka Keli replied.

“Then lock them up for three days.”

“Yes, merciful Great Prophet Nieyan.”
