Chapter 687: Raid

Nie Yan glanced down at his skill bar. Several skills had cooled down. He activated Dash Step and vanished from Qin Han’s sight.

Noticing Nie Yan’s disappearance, Qin Han’s heart tightened abruptly. Having fought Nie Yan so many times, he had come to understand Nie Yan’s character somewhat. That guy definitely wouldn’t leave so easily!

Nie Yan, now in stealth mode, undoubtedly had him as his primary target!

The sudden shift from hunter to prey left him feeling frustrated and resentful.

Qin Han locked onto Nie Yan’s position through his Bone Dragon. He saw Nie Yan swiftly darting across the plains, rapidly approaching. The astonishing speed sent a chill through his heart.

When the Rogue Nie Yan wanted to kill someone, almost no one could stop him!

Feeling death approaching, Qin Han’s nerves tensed to the extreme. He quickly retreated, swung his right hand, and a wall of bones blocked Nie Yan’s path.

At this moment, the Lich Bodeman had somewhat recovered. He waved his staff, and torrents of blazing fire rained from the sky, sweeping across a wide area centered on Nie Yan, igniting roaring flames.

Several fire streams struck Nie Yan, causing his form to flicker into view. The flames touched his shield and were repelled.

Walls of bones rose from all directions, attempting to trap Nie Yan inside.

Nie Yan leaped over the bone walls and dashed far ahead.

With Lich Bodeman assisting, it became extremely difficult for Nie Yan to approach Qin Han.

The Bone Dragon circled in the sky, ready to swoop down at any moment.

Nie Yan leaped onto a tree branch, evading the Bone Dragon’s sight. He raised his Headless Horseman D’ro’s crossbow, pulled the trigger, and with a series of whistling sounds, a volley of arrows shot rapidly toward Qin Han in the distance.

The attack came precisely from a blind spot in Qin Han’s vision.

Sensing something, Qin Han turned and saw the five incoming arrows, hastily swinging his staff to defend.

Before he could act, walls of bones rose around him, shielding him inside.

Ding ding ding—the arrows struck the bone walls and fell down.

No matter what method Nie Yan used to attack next, all were blocked by Lich Bodeman. Although Nie Yan was immune to Bodeman’s attacks due to his shield, Nie Yan also couldn’t do anything to Qin Han.

Bodeman was too quick. Protected by Bodeman, Qin Han was practically safe beyond doubt.

Qin Han looked toward Nie Yan’s direction and locked eyes with him.

A faint sneer appeared on Qin Han’s face. Due to Nie Yan’s shield, he couldn’t kill Nie Yan, but Nie Yan couldn’t do anything to him either!

“Boodman, we’re leaving,” Qin Han said. Today, the Chapter of Order had been snatched away by Nie Yan. He had suffered a defeat at Nie Yan’s hands. He would definitely get back at him someday!

The Bone Dragon descended toward Qin Han and Lich Bodeman.

They were trying to escape! Nie Yan’s eyes narrowed sharply, a glint of killing intent flashing in his eyes.

Qin Han carried seven Chapters of Order. If he could get them, he could complete another scroll. Nie Yan knew how powerful the Shadow Striker was. The Kings’ Empire had yet to locate the remaining chapter and had mentioned that if Nie Yan wanted to collect all the Chapters of Order, they would return the five chapters to him. Nie Yan would then have one complete scroll plus two additional chapters. For the dream of becoming the Pope, he definitely needed to obtain the chapters from Qin Han.

Initially, Nie Yan hadn’t expected much success in collecting all the Chapters of Order. However, after obtaining the Great Prophet Medal and hearing Emperor Jobiah’s words, Nie Yan’s dream of becoming the Pope was ignited.

If he became the Pope of the Holy Sanctuary, the Archangel Tyrode would personally crown him. The armies of the Holy Sanctuary would be at his command. Nie Yan would truly ascend to the pinnacle of power in the Glirenn Empire. Then, the Bull Tribe and other guilds would grow into an invincible force under his protection. The Glirenn Empire would be completely under Nie Yan’s control.

In his previous life, even conglomerates like Century Capital and Angel Empire had never accomplished such a feat. At their peak, they merely controlled fortresses, barely entering the NPC system to become true rulers.

Although he understood the difficulties ahead, Nie Yan still decided to try.

Qin Han and Lich Bodeman climbed onto the Bone Dragon’s back. The Bone Dragon flapped its wings and soared into the sky.

As Qin Han and Lich Bodeman were about to escape, Nie Yan quickly rushed toward the Bone Dragon. When the Bone Dragon’s feet left the ground, Nie Yan was still seven or eight meters away. He shot out a strand of spider silk from his left hand, propelling his body into the air and flying rapidly toward the Bone Dragon.

Nie Yan grabbed the Bone Dragon’s skeleton with both hands, tightly clinging to its body.

The Bone Dragon didn’t notice Nie Yan, and Qin Han and Lich Bodeman were also completely unaware of him.

Nie Yan looked into the distance and saw some white dots in the sky. Upon closer inspection, he realized they were Griffins.

These Griffins were different from ordinary players’ Griffins. They were larger, entirely white, their feathers reflecting dazzling white light under the sunlight. These were the Royal Griffins used by the Carol City army!

The NPC army of Carol City had arrived!

Nie Yan smiled slightly. Lich Bodeman had sustained serious injuries in the previous battle. If surrounded by Carol City’s NPCs, whether they could escape was questionable.

Nie Yan vaguely recalled that in his previous life, Lich Bodeman had been severely injured in a battle and eventually fell into the hands of Kars.

However, the timing seemed off. The Undead Revenge lasted over a month, and Lich Bodeman was only eliminated then, not now.

No matter, taking advantage of Qin Han and Lich Bodeman’s attention being focused on the distant Griffins, Nie Yan slowly climbed upward.

After noticing the Royal Griffins, the Bone Dragon accelerated its escape southward.

A giant Griffin nearby was rapidly catching up. It was slightly larger than the regular Royal Griffins, only slightly smaller than the Bone Dragon. It was surrounded by a massive light shield. Standing on its head was a mage clad in white robes.

Nie Yan glanced that way and suddenly found the mage familiar—it was Kars!

The Lich Bodeman had finally encountered his destined opponent, Kars.

“Despicable Lich, the God of Light will not forgive your sins. I will use your head to honor the immortal spirits of the fallen!” Kars’s voice thundered, solemn and powerful. He waved his staff, and a powerful pillar of holy light struck down from the sky.

Lich Bodeman let out a sharp cackle, saying, “Kars, do you think you can kill me? For a thousand years, you’ve made no progress at all.”

Boodman raised a black light shield. When the holy light pillar collided with the black shield, it emitted hissing white smoke.

Nie Yan clearly felt that Lich Bodeman’s black light shield was somewhat unstable under Kars’s attack.

The injuries Bodeman had sustained in the temple hadn’t fully healed yet!

The Bone Dragon and the Royal Griffin fiercely grappled in the sky.

Nie Yan’s hands tightly clung to the Bone Dragon’s body. Several times, the Bone Dragon nearly threw him off.

Nie Yan carefully dodged the attacks. Seeing the Royal Griffin’s body charging toward him, he quickly leaped aside and grabbed another spot on the Bone Dragon.

Compared to the massive size of the Bone Dragon and the Royal Griffin, Nie Yan was practically negligible.

He was only a short distance from the Bone Dragon’s back now, his gaze fixed on the distant Lich Bodeman and Qin Han.

Qin Han probably hadn’t expected Nie Yan to chase after them. He thought he was safe once he and Lich Bodeman boarded the Bone Dragon and took off. However, he had underestimated Nie Yan’s determination to kill him.

The battle between Kars and Lich Bodeman gradually intensified. The Bone Dragon clawed at the Royal Griffin, splattering blood and causing feathers to fall. The Royal Griffin retaliated fiercely, crashing into the Bone Dragon and pushing it backward.

The magical duel between Bodeman and Kars continued nonstop.

Nie Yan was hit by several fireballs and holy attacks, his protective shield’s durability gradually depleting, now down to only around 50,000. If he didn’t find an opportunity to eliminate Qin Han soon, there might not be another chance.

As the Bone Dragon and the Royal Griffin passed each other, Nie Yan locked eyes with Kars. He seemed to see Kars’s astonished gaze, but it was just a fleeting moment before they passed each other.

Nie Yan clung to the Bone Dragon’s back in stealth, getting closer and closer to Qin Han, now only about ten yards away. Lich Bodeman stood atop the Bone Dragon, locked in fierce combat with Kars, completely unaware of Nie Yan.

Qin Han sensed that Lich Bodeman was struggling, his heart tightening with anxiety. If Bodeman were eliminated, he would be finished—facing deletion and starting over. Initiating Undead Revenge meant paying a heavy price. If the Undead Revenge failed, he would be blacklisted by both the Glirenn Empire and the Satern Empire, unable to find refuge until hunted to zero level by city guards.

The final outcome between Bodeman and Kars determined his future fate. How could he not be anxious!

Seeing that Qin Han hadn’t noticed him, Nie Yan’s lips curved into a faint smile, like a hidden panther waiting for the prey to lose focus before launching a surprise attack.

Time ticked by. Kars’s attacks became increasingly fierce. Lich Bodeman was frequently struck, showing signs of being overwhelmed.

Suddenly, Nie Yan leaped up like an arrow, rushing toward Qin Han. The flames of Zeinard’s Sword flared intensely.
