The Thunderstorm Totems were detonated en masse, leaving the defenses near the Ironclad Catapults nearly nonexistent. Only more than three thousand Warblades players remained here, and the defense had become very weak.
Countless Brave Tribe players charged toward the Ironclad Catapults, while the Abomination and hundreds of smaller beetles rushed forward as well. With so many units charging from all directions, the Ironclad Catapults couldn’t possibly eliminate them all fast enough.
Angel Sanctum urgently directed players from the Mage Alliance and Holy Guardians toward the area for reinforcements. If the Ironclad Catapults were destroyed, their chances of victory would diminish even further.
The defenses of the Cerulean Sanctum and the Holy Roman Empire were breached, and more and more players from the Mage Alliance and Holy Guardians were converging toward the area.
Nie Yan reviewed the battlefield reports and understood their movements. If players from the Mage Alliance and Holy Guardians arrived for reinforcement, things would become more complicated. They needed to accelerate their actions!
Under Nie Yan’s control, the Abomination charged directly toward the Ironclad Catapults, entering the attack range of two of them.
The two Ironclad Catapults launched a barrage, sending ten flaming iron balls soaring into the sky before whistling down. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! The powerful flames engulfed the area where the Abomination stood, instantly annihilating more than twenty small beetles. The iron balls struck the Abomination, and the immense impact forced it backward several steps.
The Abomination’s movement slowed momentarily.
The Ironclad Catapults’ attack power was extremely high. Ten iron balls dealt over 700,000 damage in total, which was astonishing. However, since the catapults focused their attacks primarily on the Abomination, they had little opportunity to target the Brave Tribe players charging forward. The Warblades players defending them were being pushed back continuously by the Brave Tribe.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Thunderstorm Totems kept exploding, turning countless Brave Tribe players into fragments.
Even after the front lines were cleared, more Brave Tribe players continued to charge forward.
Taking advantage of the Ironclad Catapults’ attack cooldown, Nie Yan quickly maneuvered the Abomination to close the distance toward the catapults.
“Fall back! Retreat thirty yards!” Angel Sanctum urgently commanded the Warblades players. If they could hold out a little longer, a large number of Mage Alliance and Holy Guardians players would arrive for support, significantly reducing their pressure. The formidable attack power of the Ironclad Catapults gave Angel Sanctum a glimmer of hope. As long as they could defend the catapults, they still had a chance to defeat the Abomination.
The Abomination was the nightmare of Warblades!
Since its appearance, the Abomination had been unstoppable, and all Warblades players crumbled instantly under its powerful attacks.
Roughly estimated, Warblades had suffered around 43,000 casualties on this battlefield, with over 7,000 of them eliminated by the Abomination. More importantly, the Abomination had completely shattered Warblades’ morale, leaving them without fighting spirit.
The Abomination rapidly approached the Ironclad Catapults, now only two to three hundred yards away.
“Fifth to Seventh squads of shield warriors, quickly block it!” Angel Sanctum shouted. Under his command, three squads of nearly two hundred shield warriors formed a human wall in front of the Abomination.
It would be very difficult for the Abomination to break through this dense wall of warriors.
Nie Yan checked the Abomination’s skill list. The cooldown for Piercing had not yet completed, and its mana was only about 30% left, having been used excessively earlier. Nie Yan noticed the Abomination still had the Corpse Feast skill. Activating it, the Abomination opened its mouth and swallowed several corpses on the ground. Its health instantly recovered by over 300,000, and its mana also increased to around 60%, allowing it to use skills again—a powerful skill indeed!
The Abomination’s Piercing skill would soon be ready. Once it had Piercing, it could sweep away all the shield warriors blocking its path. The human wall would be ineffective against Piercing!
The Ironclad Catapults targeted the Abomination again.
Meanwhile, the Brave Tribe players had made some progress. A group led by Cui Can Dao Guang (Brilliant Blade) approached the area within thirty yards of the Ironclad Catapults, entering a safe zone.
The maximum range of the Ironclad Catapults was five hundred yards, while their minimum range was one hundred yards. In other words, they could not attack any units within a hundred-yard radius. Once approached by players like Brilliant Blade, the catapults could only retreat continuously.
Brilliant Blade’s armor was incredibly strong, with defense so high it was absurd. He withstood three shield warriors from Angel Empire, one of whom was a promoted class. The three of them were unable to stop Brilliant Blade.
Shield Bash!
Brilliant Blade shouted and slammed his shield into one of the Angel Empire’s shield warriors. The force was so powerful that the warrior was knocked flying backward, stumbling and falling to the ground after three or four steps.
Brilliant Blade was truly formidable!
Leng Ao Ying (Cold Shadow) and Yi Yan (Elegant Evolution) also led groups of players to approach the Ironclad Catapults from two other directions. Even if the catapults could stop the Abomination, these Brave Tribe players could still destroy the catapults.
The situation had become extremely critical. Angel Sanctum directed a group of over three hundred Warblades players to block Brilliant Blade and his team. He himself had no choice but to join the battle, drawing three arrows, bending his bow, and shooting toward Brilliant Blade.
Brilliant Blade was engaged in combat with several Angel Empire players, gradually approaching the Ironclad Catapults. He had been preparing a powerful move. As long as he hit the Ironclad Catapult, even if he couldn’t destroy it, he could at least inflict some damage.
As he approached within ten yards of the Ironclad Catapult, Brilliant Blade became excited, his right-hand sword glowing intensely.
At that moment, three arrows shot through the gaps between two Angel Empire players at lightning speed.
Brilliant Blade was about to strike when he suddenly caught sight of the incoming arrows from the corner of his eye. He immediately interrupted his skill, raised his shield to block the arrows, and heard three consecutive THUDs as the arrows struck him.
The arrows came too quickly. By the time Brilliant Blade noticed, it was already too late. Flames surrounded him like ropes, binding him tightly in place, completely immobilized.
Flame Bind!
This was a special skill attached to Angel Sanctum’s Phoenician Longbow. Upon hitting an enemy, it could bind them for five seconds.
Several swordsmen from Angel Empire seized the opportunity, continuously charging and attacking Brilliant Blade, using hamstringing strikes.
A few priests from the Brave Tribe behind him quickly cast healing spells, pulling Brilliant Blade back from the brink of danger.
Brilliant Blade’s team was intercepted by the Angel Empire’s shield warriors who had rushed forward.
Chaos also erupted among the players led by Cold Shadow and Elegant Evolution.
Several Brave Tribe mages waved their staffs, launching fireballs toward the Ironclad Catapults.
The fireballs exploded on the catapults, scattering sparks and leaving burn marks, but failing to destroy them. These fire spells were too weak to inflict fatal damage on the Ironclad Catapults.
To avoid the fire magic attacks, the Ironclad Catapults had to retreat another twenty to thirty yards. They then launched another barrage of ten fiery iron balls toward the Abomination.
Piercing!
The Abomination unleashed its Piercing skill, obliterating the group of shield warriors blocking its path. Out of the two hundred shield warriors, only three survived. These three were exceptionally well-equipped, with one being a promoted class player. Their defenses barely withstood the Abomination’s attack. After the bone spikes swept through, their health, originally around three to four thousand, was reduced to just a few hundred points.
They quickly drank healing potions and retreated. Dozens of priests behind them rushed to heal them.
The Abomination’s attack was terrifying. Sending these three to block it was practically suicide.
Its overwhelming magical attacks left every remaining Warblades player terrified.
After clearing the obstacles ahead, the Abomination resumed its advance toward the Ironclad Catapults.
At that moment, another ten iron balls fell from the sky, striking the Abomination and dealing over 700,000 damage.
Meanwhile, among the Brave Tribe, Cold Shadow’s group, due to the weaker interception forces from Warblades, managed to engage the enemy melee units. Cold Shadow and five other Brave Tribe shield warriors held off the Warblades melee units. Among the mages, an Elementalist wearing a light gray robe, unremarkable and relatively unknown, quietly waved his staff and began chanting a spell.
The battle in front was fierce and chaotic, yet no one noticed this Elementalist quietly chanting a fire-based area-of-effect spell in the crowd.
Chant after chant came from his mouth, softly and quietly, barely audible.
His staff was cleverly hidden behind another Brave Tribe Arcanist, and he was approximately thirty-five yards away from one of the Ironclad Catapults. For the catapults, having an Elementalist approach this closely was extremely dangerous. Under normal circumstances, paladins would rush forward at all costs to silence this mage. However, the battlefield was too chaotic for anyone to notice him.
The surrounding Brave Tribe teammates noticed he was chanting a fire-based area-of-effect spell, and realizing it was a high-level one, quickly began covering for him.
“Xiao Qi, come on! Just a little more!” An Arcanist beside him gripped his staff tightly, his heart filled with tension. Xiao Qi had already been chanting for twelve seconds, with eight more to go. If they could hold out until then, they would succeed!
A surge of fire magic elements gathered, swirling and dancing. Players could clearly feel the intense heat radiating from them.
