At this moment, Hu Tuke Tu’s mind and spiritual world resembled a vast, boundless starry sky, dotted with countless shining stars flowing like the Milky Way. There was no longer Lotus Mountain, no Shaolin Temple, no Jiang Zhiwei. Yet this starry sky was different from the real one, as if covered with a semi-transparent azure glass, refracting light and creating an illusory, unstable sensation.
Standing atop a desolate yet towering peak, Meng Qi found himself surrounded by eternal glaciers and snow-covered ridges. The peak was located in the central-northern region of a relatively large planet, much like the relationship between Mount Everest and Earth, making Meng Qi seem exceptionally small by comparison.
Looking upward through the gales, Meng Qi saw Hu Tuke Tu standing proudly in the starry sky. He manifested the “Vajrayudha King Body,” with three heads, eight arms, and a completely azure-colored body. Towering and immense, even the black Vajra Wheel he held in one hand was as large as the planet Meng Qi stood upon, and with a simple movement of his palm, he could grasp it effortlessly.
Before him, Meng Qi appeared even smaller than an ant!
“In this pure land of my mind, I am omnipotent. Whatever I imagine will manifest, while all your attacks will vanish into thin air, unable to harm me!”
Hu Tuke Tu’s mighty voice echoed across every corner of the planet. With his right hand gripping the black Vajra Wheel, he thrust forward, his skin a pure azure hue like glass, radiating a sacred luster that subdued external doctrines. Penetrating layers of gale winds, he struck toward the towering peak as if swatting a mosquito.
Within one’s own spiritual world, the individual is the master. If one possesses the ability to control it, then “whatever one imagines will manifest.”
Therefore, battling within someone else’s spiritual world is extremely dangerous and passive, akin to a creature dependent on the world fighting against the one who created it.
As the black Vajra Wheel descended with the palm strike, shadows engulfed the entire planet. The peak darkened rapidly, plunging Meng Qi into what felt like hell, unable to evade this attack no matter how he tried.
Remaining calm, Meng Qi did not draw his sword. Suddenly clenching his fist, he unleashed a surge of purple lightning, accompanied by merit, forming a majestic yellow-and-black true dragon riding thunder, charging toward the azure glass-like palm and the black Vajra Wheel covering the planet.
Puu!
The majestic yellow-and-black dragon struck the black Vajra Wheel mid-air but did not cause the slightest ripple. Like an egg hitting a stone, like a mantis blocking a chariot, it had no effect whatsoever, instantly shattering into countless yellow-and-black light specks and purple electric snakes raining down.
Within the spiritual world of the “Vajrayudha King,” it seemed no one could harm him!
Paa!
The azure glass-like palm descended, and the black Vajra Wheel shattered the entire planet into pieces. Wrathful flames covered everything, burning it all to ashes.
High in the starry sky, the “Vajrayudha King” manifestation of Hu Tuke Tu gazed down at the destruction. His azure glass-like eyes showed no emotional fluctuation, like a perfectly round mirror reflecting all things, unmoving like a mountain.
The manifestation of a Vajra King is essentially the wrathful form of the Five Wisdom Buddhas. What is a wrathful form? The Buddha’s body reveals profound teachings for sentient beings to contemplate and achieve bliss. At the same time, the Buddha manifests as Bodhisattva forms to guide and save beings. However, some beings are stubborn, others deeply entangled in greed, anger, and hatred, and still others are heretics who destroy the Dharma, making normal guidance ineffective. At such times, the Buddhas, symbolizing the Five Wisdoms, display wrathful eyes and manifest Vajra Kings to subdue these heretics and negative emotions, compelling them to follow the Buddha’s teachings. Hence, these are called wrathful forms.
Precisely for this reason, the Vajra Kings embody wrathful fire, performing great compassion through fierce methods, their emotions and gazes naturally lacking the mercy shown by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
In his eyes, there was only the intent to conquer. As he watched the shattered planet and Meng Qi vanish into the formless flames of wrath, his heart remained as serene as a mirror, unshaken as a mountain.
At that instant, Hu Tuke Tu’s sapphire-like eyes mirrored a figure swiftly materializing from formless, wrathful flames. Emerging was a man clad in a flowing azure robe, his temples tinged with silver and hands as pale as jade, radiating an uncanny allure—undoubtedly Meng Qi.
Yet, within Hu Tuke Tu’s mirror-like wisdom reflecting all things, he could no longer sense his opponent’s emotional fluctuations or detect the greed, anger, and delusion hidden in his mind. This mysterious Dharma body was like a black hole devouring everything or a chaotic womb containing all possibilities, dark and unfathomable, impossible to comprehend!
Meng Qi let his hands hang loosely, making no attempt to attack. Within this spiritual world, without uncovering its mysteries, any attack against Hu Tuke Tu would be like a breeze against his face. Gazing into Hu Tuke Tu’s unshaken, emotionless glass-like eyes, Meng Qi smiled slightly and said, “So that’s how it is. Even within this spiritual world, the Living Buddha is not omnipotent.”
“If my mind remains like the Bodhi tree, free from wrathful thoughts, hatred, or any emotional disturbance, then the Living Buddha cannot harm me.”
“Master seems to know quite a bit about the ‘Vajrayudha King Manual,'” Hu Tuke Tu’s manifested King said calmly, showing no surprise.
In a normal person’s spiritual world, whatever one imagines manifests, making one invincible and omnipotent. Of course, normal people’s imaginations are limited by their knowledge and understanding, but these limitations do not affect opponents. If one cultivates relevant techniques, refining mind and spirit, one can pull enemies into this imagined world, naturally abiding by the technique’s characteristics—the rules governing this spiritual realm—unless one reaches the peak and most perfect level, where one’s spiritual and mental world transforms with a single thought, real or illusory at will, achieving complete mastery and omnipotence.
Take the “Vajrayudha King Manual” as an example. Its core characteristic is subduing heretical demons like Mahesvara and conquering the poisons of greed, anger, and delusion across past, present, and future lifetimes. Thus, Hu Tuke Tu’s spiritual world was shaped accordingly. If the enemy harbored any greedy, angry, or deluded thoughts and could not subdue and control them quickly, they would be at Hu Tuke Tu’s mercy, experiencing pain and sensations identical to real death, causing immense suffering. With repeated deaths, their imprints would be completely erased, and their physical body in the real world would also perish.
But if one’s mind remained like the Bodhi tree, calm and undisturbed, then Hu Tuke Tu’s attacks based on greed, anger, and delusion would be as ineffective as reflections in water or flowers in a mirror!
This was the essence of spiritual combat!
Hu Tuke Tu knew his opponent was no sudden apparition. He had faced countless enemies, many of whom survived numerous encounters. The characteristics of the “Vajrayudha King Manual” were well-known to him, so it was no surprise that this Dharma body understood its secrets and knew how to respond.
Most importantly, he now wielded the “Alaya Consciousness” transformed into the Great Mirror Wisdom—the eighth consciousness elevated to wisdom. His mind was like a bright mirror, calm and undisturbed, capable of reflecting all things and perceiving profound mysteries, enabling him to predict his opponent’s moves and derive myriad techniques. Though not yet perfected, he could maintain an unmoving, mirror-like mind, leaving his opponent with no secrets—Eastern Akshobhya Buddha symbolized the Great Mirror Wisdom among the Five Wisdoms, also known as the Immovable Buddha. Naturally, his Vajra King manifestation had this characteristic, with the eight arms symbolizing the eighth consciousness.
At this moment, the three-faced, eight-armed “Vajrayudha King” Hu Tuke Tu calmly observed his enemy and spoke again in a mighty voice:
“Namo to the Immovable Buddha of the East!”
Suddenly, the spiritual world transformed. The vast starry sky receded, and the semi-transparent azure glass became solid, forming barriers and ground. From the ground sprouted countless azure Bodhi trees and merit pools adorned with treasures like glass and agate.
At the center stood a seven-treasured Bodhi tree, beneath which sat an azure Buddha chanting the Immovable Vajra mantra.
This was the Eastern Akshobhya Buddha, this was the Eastern Sukhavati Pure Land!
And beneath each Bodhi tree and beside each merit pool, there sat countless golden-bodied Buddhas or Bodhisattvas.
The immovable azure Buddha at the center opened his eyes, reflecting the profound mysteries of the Ten Thousand Dharmas, and solemnly proclaimed, “The sea of suffering is boundless; turn back, and the shore is near!”
In unison, countless golden-bodied Buddhas and Bodhisattvas echoed, “The sea of suffering is boundless; turn back, and the shore is near!”
Their voices thundered from all directions, drilling into Meng Qi’s ears. Within his mind, they transformed into countless Buddha images, attempting to forcibly convert him. Nothing was more suitable for subduing and converting within a spiritual world!
The azure glass radiance shimmered, the golden merit pools rippled, and the cry of “The sea of suffering is boundless; turn back, and the shore is near!” resounded endlessly. Golden lotuses emerged from the earth, while celestial blossoms rained from the heavens, washing away all greed, anger, and ignorance, immersing one in purity—just one step away from entering the path of enlightenment.
Yet suddenly, a series of thumping heartbeats echoed through the void, growing faster, more urgent, and more bizarre.
Thump! Thump! Thump! Standing among the Buddhas, Meng Qi clasped his hands behind his back, smiling as if listening. Suddenly, one by one, the golden Buddhas and Bodhisattvas showed joy on their faces, unable to contain themselves. They stood up and began dancing to the heartbeat rhythm. Some danced wildly, tearing off their prayer beads and ripping their robes.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The dancing grew more intense. Except for Akshobhya Buddha, all other golden Buddhas and Bodhisattvas joined in, making Meng Qi feel as if he had returned to the past, witnessing the bloody storm on the square.
Paa!
A phantom sound echoed, the heartbeat ceased, and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas vanished. Akshobhya Buddha reverted to the Vajrayudha King’s golden body.
“Heretic! You are a heretic!” Hu Tuke Tu said coldly, his Vajra Wheel spinning rapidly in his hands.
To break the Sukhavati Pure Land in such a way—truly heretical!
Do you think that’s all I can do?
Then let me show you my recently perfected “Three Lifetimes Cycle”!
The black Vajra Wheel spun rapidly, shattering the azure pure land. The surroundings grew dark and deep, as if hiding countless terrifying monsters, connecting to indescribable eerie places.
The Vajrayudha King subdued the greed, anger, and delusion of past, present, and future lifetimes. Naturally, he could make one return to the past or reincarnate, experiencing various personal events and emotions like greed, anger, and delusion without resistance. On the basis of sealed memories, he could create a new “Yuan Shen”—a new cycle, a new personality. If one’s mind was not strong enough to hold onto oneself, one would immediately suffer mental breakdown, sinking into hell, never to recover, even forgetting the present and becoming a past or future self, completely lost.
The Six Dao’s “Changing Heaven and Earth Great Law” was modeled after this technique!
This was a cultivation method containing slight elements of time and fate, along with corresponding divine weapons!
The void flickered with darkness, and Hu Tuke Tu loomed above, observing the scenes below. This was the enemy’s past—not only could he relive it, causing “Yuan Shen” fragmentation, but Hu Tuke Tu could also witness his greedy, angry, and deluded years, killing him within this past!
In a narrow room, a bed and a table stood, with no chair to avoid obstructing movement. Clothes were stored in a box by the door. Each time he went out, he could only open a small gap. A computer sat on the table, running a game.
Yet now, the room was cold and silent, with no figure in sight!
This… Hu Tuke Tu felt a slight ripple in his heart. According to past memories, shouldn’t the enemy’s past self be sitting by the bed in front of the computer?
Why was he gone?
He was gone!
The Vajra Wheel spun again, revealing a building engulfed in flames, Japanese soldiers committing massacres.
Still nothing! Hu Tuke Tu’s mirror-like mental waves should have provoked anger and prompted his past enemy to act, yet again, the spot where he should stand was empty!
The black Vajra Wheel spun once more, exuding a dark and eerie glow. Someone was lifting a bamboo cage, preparing to submerge it in water, yet the cage was empty—where was the person?
What was happening… Hu Tuke Tu’s mind grew confused. He knew the enemy was special, but could it be that this was a naturally born true spirit, with no past?
No, if there was no past, where did these experiences come from?
Hu Tuke Tu forced himself to calm down and looked up. Suddenly, in the distant darkness, he saw the azure-robed immortal sitting cross-legged, smiling at him!
I have long mastered the ability to trace the past, having dealt with Chonghe and others. Perhaps this mysterious Dharma body knew this and made targeted preparations!
If so, then I shall use the greatest achievement from forty years of retreat:
Send you to reincarnate!
Lifetime after lifetime, forever lost!
The Three Lifetimes Vajra Wheel suddenly reversed its spin, and the world transformed again, revealing a pure land filled with celestial beings, Arhats, Bodhisattvas, and many Buddhas.
“His next life is a Buddha?” Hu Tuke Tu hesitated, but when he looked at the central white lotus throne, he saw nothing—no Buddha sat there.
No, he doesn’t even have a next life?
The Vajra Wheel spun again, this time revealing chaos, yet the expected slumbering Celestial Master was gone—vanished!
Again and again, Hu Tuke Tu sent Meng Qi to reincarnate, yet each time, there was no reincarnated self.
He… he has no past and no future? Hu Tuke Tu was horrified, unable to maintain his Great Mirror Wisdom any longer.
Looking back, the azure-robed immortal still sat there, as if he had always been, neither returning to the past nor reincarnating.
Who… who is he? Who could have no past or future! Hu Tuke Tu’s gaze was filled with terror.
Then he beheld Meng Qi, seated serenely in azure robes, one finger pointing skyward, the other touching the earth. A golden radiance of glazed glass surged forth, illuminating both heaven and earth, lighting up the spiritual realm, transforming him into a vast and majestic form that completely filled the space, rendering the Three Lifetimes Vajra King as insignificant as an ant. From his lips issued a mighty proclamation:
“Past and future, only ‘I’ am supreme!”
Past and future, only I am supreme? Hu Tuke Tu felt as if struck by lightning, as if awakened by a thunderous shout, his whole body trembling. A sudden clarity washed over him, like a cool breeze, while his Vajra wrath cooled, and inner peace emerged.
Past and future, only I am supreme, so that’s how it is, that’s how it is…
The spiritual world collapsed, Lotus Mountain reappeared before his eyes, the mountain breeze brushing his face, refreshingly clear. In the distance, the chanting of Shaolin monks faintly drifted over.
Tears streamed down Hu Tuke Tu’s face as he placed the “Three Lifetimes Vajra Wheel” on the stone steps, clasped his hands, and said, “Thank you, Master, for this thunderous awakening. I have finally attained great enlightenment. All past things have died, and all future things are illusions. Only one’s true nature is unshakable.”
“From today on, I shall enter Shaolin and cultivate anew.”
Without waiting for Meng Qi’s reply, he turned and ascended, walking toward the Shaolin gate, his heart and mind light.
Watching his retreating figure, Meng Qi was momentarily stunned. This was the ending? He hadn’t expected to turn him into a true monk. What kind of situation was this?
Regaining his composure, Meng Qi picked up the “Three Lifetimes Vajra Wheel” and sighed, “If I didn’t have no past or future, facing a nearly perfected Hu Tuke Tu would have been extremely dangerous. The ‘Vajrayudha King Manual’ is truly extraordinary.”
“Unfortunately, he met you,” Jiang Zhiwei smiled.
Meng Qi looked up at the sky, his gaze piercing the gales into the darkness, “If a nearly perfected Hu Tuke Tu possesses such profound techniques, how terrifying would the return of true legends and cosmic beings be?”
“With the great calamity approaching, the only thing we can do is improve ourselves, striving to attain legend status before they return.”
