Chapter 1346: The Unfathomable Will of Heaven

A dark crimson giant hand, brimming with madness and ferocity, blotted out the heavens, juxtaposed against the pure and radiant divine moonlight, as if compressing the entire real world into a mere inch of space. With an unstoppable and overwhelming momentum, it slammed toward the barely holding Yellow Banner of the Central Earth. Following closely, the icy and shadowy tips of delicate white fingers seemed like the beckoning call of death, its final arrival.

With other major figures entangled among themselves, in the present world, there wasn’t even a force that could delay them for a fraction of a second!

With two Nirvana-level beings joining forces, the outcome was already set in stone!

Within the Buddhist Pure Land spanning countless kalpas, the poised-to-strike Ancient Buddha Dipamkara suddenly halted, both shocked and elated:

“No wonder the Devil Buddha was so certain!”

“Who would have thought he still had this hidden move—directly controlling the Heavenly Dao monster!”

He didn’t bother pondering how A-nan or the Thunder God from back then could have achieved such a feat. As his shock faded, joy took its place, and he softly repeated the Devil Buddha’s earlier words:

“Su Meng, you’re doomed!”

……

Deep within the Nine Nether, sensing this through her subtle connection with the Heavenly Dao monster, Gu Xiaoshan remained outwardly composed, though her face had turned alarmingly pale.

After countless calculations, she had overlooked the Devil Buddha’s hidden trump card!

Regarding whether the Heavenly Dao monster was a puppet of some Nirvana-level being like Fu Huang, she had once risked probing and confirmed no external interference before deciding to use it in her scheme.

Who could have guessed the Devil Buddha had concealed himself so deeply? During the Middle Ages, despite several cycles of reincarnation making it hard to fully let go, he gradually sank into depravity, weakening continuously. Even when the Overlord broke free from his control and directly threatened his true form, he never once used the power of the Heavenly Dao monster, leading everyone to believe he had no other tricks left. After reversing the Tathagata and ascending to the Devil’s throne, his own power alone sufficed, rendering the Heavenly Dao monster temporarily unnecessary.

The ancient Thunder Pond was a remnant of the Primordial Era, a place close to the Dao. Events within it were beyond even the perception of Nirvana-level beings. The fact that the Overlord could forge the Peerless Blade inevitably raised suspicions, but most assumed the Devil Buddha had hidden remnants of his power in his birthplace, using his true divine body as a catalyst, emulating the ancient Heavenly Slaughter Daoist to barely succeed. Who knew it concealed such a secret?

Back then, A-nan’s cultivation and strength might not have surpassed Gu Xiaoshan’s current level. How could he have completely controlled the Heavenly Dao monster?

These doubts swirled briefly in Gu Xiaoshan’s mind before vanishing, as they were useless in the current situation.

The favorable circumstances of moments ago had abruptly reversed into a dead end!

With the Demon Emperor watching the long-freed Devil Buddha, who could stop the combined forces of the Old Mother of No-Birth and the Heavenly Dao monster?

Even if the hidden, undead Heavenly Emperor intervened, could he withstand two Nirvana-level beings?

At his peak, he was indeed stronger than the current Old Mother of No-Birth, but not by the margin of a weaker Nirvana-level being!

Gu Xiaoshan had always aimed her schemes at the Old Mother of No-Birth. Though she suspected the Devil Buddha would make moves and likely escape confinement early, she had her husband request the Demon Emperor to personally watch him. Yet, she had still underestimated him, failing to elevate him to the same level of importance as the Golden Emperor.

One misstep led to a cascade of errors.

Now, the situation was beyond her control.

Could she pin her hopes on the elusive Primordial Heavenly Venerable or the Numinous Treasure Heavenly Venerable intervening?

Or the even more unfathomable Daoist Venerable or Buddha?

……

On Three Clouds Island, in the Jade Void Palace, and the Land of Ultimate Bliss, the mighty figures of Creation, aside from their shared astonishment, reacted with either joy or sorrow.

The Bodhisattva Manjusri was not without the courage to throw himself into the flames, but facing two Nirvana-level beings, there was not a shred of hope. Even if all the remaining mighty figures banded together, they couldn’t withstand a single finger from the Golden Emperor.

In such a predicament, even the thought of a desperate struggle was impossible to muster!

The deepest, heaviest despair!

Within the Jade Emperor Mountain, the shimmering long blade flickered once before finally settling into stillness.

……

As he neared the moment of his birth, Meng Qi suddenly felt as if he had plunged into an ice cave—cold, dark, and silent, the most visceral sensation of death!

His consciousness had been worn away by time, leaving only the sharpness and courage to sever all obstacles. His spirit honed to the keenest blade, the fiercest sword, he reacted to this stimulus not with hesitation but by unleashing his latent potential, casting aside all else.

At this critical juncture, the “Primordial Chaos Fruit,” purple with hidden white, trembled violently. Meng Qi’s past self transformed into a blade light—a blazing white radiance embodying unparalleled determination, cleaving heaven and earth, recreating the cosmos!

The blade light flashed, slicing through the river of time, piercing into the moment of Meng Qi’s birth. But it didn’t stop there. It surged onward, reaching the Middle Ages, connecting with the “historical marker” of the Overlord’s era. The resonance with time grew increasingly intense, causing two illusory Dao Fruits to near completion, lifting his innate spiritual light to rise once more. This, in turn, accelerated his journey through the past, merging with the “Meng Qi” who witnessed the fall of the Heavenly Court.

Nirvana was within sight!

Yet it was already too late. The terrifying dark crimson hand descended, shattering billions of golden lotuses, sending the Yellow Banner of the Central Earth plummeting into the Nine Nether!

“Su Meng is finished…” The Ancient Buddha Dipamkara couldn’t hide his smile.

The Devil Buddha A-nan smirked at the Demon Emperor’s palace and the Phoenix-Winged Black Gold Spear brimming with virtue, utterly composed and confident.

In the Jade Void Palace, the Bodhisattva Manjusri sighed deeply, his voice laden with loneliness and bitterness.

Gu Xiaoshan looked up at this scene, her heart in turmoil. She even considered merging with the Heavenly Dao monster to weaken the Golden Emperor, but what good would that do?

One mighty figure after another watched helplessly as the dark crimson hand reached into the river of time, stirring ripples, each filled with indescribable emotions.

The path to Nirvana had claimed another martyr.

When would this bitter sea ever end?

The dark crimson hand struck toward Meng Qi’s two nearly formed illusory Dao Fruits, with chaos eroding them even earlier.

All the mighty figures, even the Nirvana-level beings, could see the inevitable outcome—every possible future led to the same conclusion!

But at that moment, terrifying waves surged from the current node of the illusory river of time, forcibly giving rise to countless new tributaries!

The dark crimson hand inexplicably froze in place, a mere instant away from Meng Qi’s illusory Dao Fruits, its tip pressed by a delicate white finger!

It was transcendent, beyond the mundane.

The Golden Emperor’s finger!

The very finger that had been obstructing Meng Qi’s ascent to Nirvana had silently shifted direction, restraining the Heavenly Dao monster!

Boom!

A deafening explosion erupted atop Spiritual Mountain, countless dark thunderbolts bursting forth. The Devil Buddha could no longer maintain his leisurely demeanor, leaping to his feet in shock as he stared at the vast, luminous moon. In an instant, he understood, his shadowy form seething as he gnashed his teeth and roared: “Golden Mother!”

The Demon-Slaying Spear reacted instinctively, and the Thirty-Three-Layered Golden Pagoda pressed down, combining with the radiant light of the Demon Emperor’s palace to trap the Devil Buddha in place.

“What?!” This twist left Dipamkara as if in a dream, the words escaping his lips involuntarily.

The Golden Emperor, who had been the most determined to kill Su Meng and whose enmity with him was irreconcilable, had actually stopped the Heavenly Dao monster, leaving Su Meng with no external obstacles!

Had she gone mad?

Was there no justice left?

The Bodhisattva Manjusri rose from his meditation cushion, his expression shifting rapidly, unable to find even a shred of belief. It was as if this were an illusion, a demon born of utter despair.

The mighty figures stared dumbfounded, utterly unresponsive.

This… A chill ran down Gu Xiaoshan’s spine, spreading through her entire body.

Meanwhile, the Nirvana-level beings, observing the newly emerged tributaries of the future, grasped most of the truth.

At this moment, atop the Golden Bridge spanning beyond the Thirty-Three Heavens and the real world, an elder riding a white ox approached, his hair silver, his aura obscure.

The bridge’s radiance surged, stabilizing the “emptiness” created by the three relics, preventing Amitabha from withdrawing.

The Daoist Venerable of Virtue was holding nothing back now!

……

The finger pressed against the Heavenly Dao monster, and the dark chaos surged forward, devouring all. The vast, luminous moon suddenly expanded, forcing the dark crimson vortexes into a corner, its dominance far surpassing before.

From within the Bodhi Pure Land, a sigh echoed:

“The Embryo of the Dao Fruit…”

The Embryo of the Dao Fruit!

The Golden Emperor had already achieved the Embryo of the Dao Fruit!

From within the luminous, perfect moon, four sword lights—red, azure, black, and white—erupted, their aura of slaughter and destruction vast and mighty. They embedded themselves at the four poles of the Jade Emperor Mountain, trapping the Time Blade at the center.

Immediately after, an ancient, weathered array diagram flew out from the moon’s radiant light, the red, azure, black, and white intertwining into Dao patterns as it settled amid the Four Swords of Slaughter.

The Slaughtering Immortals Array Diagram!

This array diagram was actually in the Golden Emperor’s possession!

Boom!

The world turned desolate as the Primordial Era’s foremost killing array completely sealed the Time Blade!

Boom!

While Lu Ya stood dumbstruck, he heard a soft whisper:

“The Golden Emperor is the ‘Numinous Treasure Heavenly Venerable’…”

He turned to see Han Guang, usually so composed, now ashen-faced. Even when he learned the Heavenly Emperor still lived and posed a future threat, he had seemed confident.

Deep in the Nine Nether, Gu Xiaoshan stared blankly at this scene, her starlit eyes flashing with intense self-mockery:

I should have realized it sooner…

The Seal of the Primordial Beginning, symbolizing the earliest origin, not only cultivated chaos but also embodied the ultimate end, the destination of all things…

The Golden Emperor didn’t just inherit the Primordial Heavenly Venerable’s legacy…

After attaining Nirvana through the Primordial Beginning, she was only a step away from the Embryo of the Dao Fruit. With the Numinous Treasure’s finality, reaching this realm was no surprise…

The Green Luminous Sword’s sudden departure left behind a sliver of hope…

After sealing the highest layer of the Nine Heavens, the Thunder God entered the Peach Orchard to plant the eerie blood peaches. The most direct path was through the Jade Pool!

No wonder her actions always seemed half a beat slow, leaving us opportunities…

If so, then the idea that “if I grow stronger, she weakens, preventing completion” was false. The ripples in the “luminous moon” back then were merely the Golden Emperor’s illusion.

In other words, if I’m not the Golden Emperor’s marker, then who am I?

Were all these years of struggle and suffering just a cruel joke?

Is the will of heaven truly so inscrutable?

At this moment, a voice both indifferent and mocking emanated from the luminous moon, addressing Meng Qi within the river of time: “Rest assured, why would I kill the product of my own emptiness-seeking reduction?”

Before the words faded, terrifying waves surged in the river of time. Meng Qi’s figure no longer hesitated, charging past the Shang Dynasty of King Tang, the first Golden Crow, the Six-Heaven Ancestral Dragon, all the way to the dawn of creation.

Not stopping there, his blade light flashed, cleaving through the void as he stepped into the chaos between two epochs!

Boom!

The world plunged into darkness, even losing its black and white. The Nirvana phenomenon— “Primordial Chaos”!
