The phantom images of the heavenly court’s deities and the myriad manifestations of the Nine Nether’s evil demons filled the sky, bowing to Han Guang before gradually blurring and transforming into countless stars and constellations, their radiance forming a sea of light that illuminated all realms.
Han Guang had attained the Legendary realm, manifesting the third type of extraordinary phenomenon!
As this phenomenon took shape, within the blessed land where the “Myth” organization now resided, beams of pure white light surged from various halls and pavilions—some containing the sun and moon, others wreathed in fierce winds, still others dripping with rain, and some overlooking mountains and rivers—all converging into the celestial sea of stars. It seemed as though a subtle connection had formed with the true forms of the celestial realm and the Nine Nether, merging into one.
In the vast sea of stars, meteors streaked down like raindrops, trailing luminous tails across the sky as they descended into the Nine Nether, clustering around Han Guang and elevating him like a towering, distant deity!
In Han Guang’s eyes, the phantom of an ancient seal emerged, revealing the celestial realm and the Nine Nether. The illusory yet lifelike meteors immediately drilled into their corresponding acupoints, unleashing boundless white light.
These were fragments of the celestial realm’s authority he had seized!
The human body harbors gods; each acupoint and internal organ has its own “divinity,” internally reflecting the self and externally connecting to heaven and earth. At this moment, all divinities returned to their positions, all demons took form—one thought for the heavenly court, another for the Nine Nether.
This body is heaven and earth; this body commands all directions!
Just then, a high-pitched cry rang out. A majestic white crane flew forth from the void, carrying a jade box in its beak. It circled the Fengtian Platform once before tilting the box, releasing talismans that shimmered with various hues.
“The Supreme Elder bestows upon the Human Emperor the Twenty-Four Grades of Divine Talismans of the Nine Heavens!”
The divine talismans descended, each dazzlingly radiant. They were forged from fragments of the celestial realm’s authority collected by the Moral Heavenly Venerable during the fall of the heavenly court.
Gao Lan bowed deeply, allowing the Twenty-Four Grades of Divine Talismans to encircle him like a curtain. Then, with a gesture, he summoned the Human Emperor Sword and used the talismans to cover the pivotal point of the Fengtian Platform—the location of the List of Deification!
The heavens and earth trembled once more, ripples forming in the void. From the initial chaos, order slowly emerged, centered on the Fengtian Platform and the List of Deification. Some of the meteors within Han Guang’s acupoints flew out, returning to the Fengtian Platform.
Seeing this, the green wood of the Nine Nether and the light restraining the Heavenly Dao anomaly vanished instantly. A green rainbow pierced the fading third layer of the celestial realm, penetrating the seal of the gray stone hall and entering the uppermost level.
…
While all attention and contention focused on the Fengtian Platform and the List of Deification, intertwining in the sky and the Nine Nether, outside the perpetually snow-capped Great Snow Mountain, Wang Siyuan, as elegant as a maiden, gazed at the icy, snow-covered summit.
An ancient zither and a long sword floated beside him, as if held by invisible attendants. His face bore a sickly pallor, alternating between deathly pale and dark red, his eyes brimming with irrepressible pain—yet none of it diminished the madness radiating from him.
At this moment, Wang Siyuan’s gaze deepened, his pupils reflecting the nine mausoleums of the Heavenly Venerate.
…
The celestial phenomena in the sky vanished as the Fengtian Platform fully merged with the List of Deification, now more majestic and solemn than ever. Lifelike statues of deities adorned its surface, seemingly ready to step forth from the stone at any moment. Most were suffused with faint glows—some pale white, others crimson, golden, azure, or violet, and some a blend of two, like red-white, gold-red, gold-azure, or azure-violet. At the center stood Gao Lan, enveloped in purple qi interwoven with strands of pure white.
His eyes profound and commanding, he surveyed his surroundings before suddenly extending the Human Emperor Sword and summoning a divine talisman of the Nine Heavens’ constellations. With solemn gravity, he declared:
“The Way of Humanity is the Way of Heaven. By decree, gods and ghosts are enfeited. I, Gao Lan, as the sovereign of Great Zhou and ruler of all under heaven, proclaim to the heavens and the earth: Shao Xuan of the Human Emperor’s lineage, virtuous and benevolent, benefactor of humanity and protector of life, shall be the Lord of Stars and the Sovereign of Purple Qi. By this decree, he is enfeited!”
Familiar words echoed, yet everything had changed. The statue and divine name of the North Star Emperor on the Fengtian Platform blazed with light, reaching beyond the cosmos. The heavens shifted, the sea of stars reappeared, and the Purple Forbidden Enclave connected with the stars beyond, sending down a strand of primordial purple qi into Shao Xuan’s mud pill palace.
Purple radiance ascended, stars swayed as if bowing. Shao Xuan sensed the vast and terrifying path of the constellations, experienced the transcendence of riding starlight as a boat through the bitter sea, and felt his realm and power surge to new heights.
As the purple qi faded, he stood transformed—adorned in a high crown and violet robes, bearing sacred insignia. Bowing deeply to Gao Lan, he said, “Your subject, Shao Xuan, thanks the Human Emperor for this grace. I shall command the stars and uphold the Way of Humanity.”
Gao Lan nodded slightly, then summoned another divine talisman—the Thunder God of the Nine Heavens—and pointed the Human Emperor Sword at Xi E:
“The Way of Humanity is the Way of Heaven. By decree, gods and ghosts are enfeited. I, Gao Lan, as the sovereign of Great Zhou and ruler of all under heaven, proclaim to the heavens and the earth: Xi E of the Human Emperor’s lineage, compassionate and protective, guiding humanity through thorns and illuminating all realms, shall be the Heavenly Venerate of Thunder, wielder of punishment!”
Before he finished, Xi E’s face was already a mix of shock and gratitude. With Han Guang seizing part of the celestial authority, the Way of Humanity’s dominion over heaven was flawed and fraught with challenges. Even with the Supreme Elder’s Twenty-Four Grades of Divine Talismans, Gao Lan could enfeit only two third-tier deities—such as the North Star Emperor, Mother of the Dipper, the Mystic Maiden of the Nine Heavens, or the Thunder God. These Legendary beings, upon receiving their divine titles and duties, would immediately wield authority, stepping into the Creation realm—though not reaching its pinnacle, they would still be true mighty figures.
With only two positions available, Xi E had assumed Gao Lan would claim one for himself to secure Creation-level power. Yet he had bestowed them upon her and Shao Xuan instead!
For her, long stalled at the threshold of Creation, this was an immeasurable boon.
The statue and divine name of the Thunder God on the Fengtian Platform ignited. The sky gathered mist, unleashing bolts of multicolored lightning that encircled Xi E, coalescing into the phantom of an ancient spear that plunged into her body.
The lightning vanished in a flash. Xi E now stood clad in dark robes and a high crown, her bearing dignified and authoritative, embodying the Thunder God’s punitive might.
With deep gratitude, she bowed and said, “Your subject, Xi E, thanks the Human Emperor for this grace. I shall serve faithfully, wield my authority with care, and mete out justice.”
Gao Lan nodded faintly, his gaze penetrating layers of time and space to the world of deification, where the whip for punishing gods—never mentioned by the Jade Void lineage—lay waiting.
…
Inside the gray stone hall, before the stele erected by Yang Jian, Meng Qi sighed. “The Green Emperor has already entered.”
Back then, Lu Ya had asked him to relay the words “the highest layer of the Nine Heavens” to the Medicine King Buddha, a clear sign of the Green Emperor’s interest in this place!
Beside him appeared Guang Chengzi, smiling as he shook his head. “How could we ever outpace a figure of the Other Shore?”
“What mystery lies in the highest layer of the Nine Heavens to draw the Green Emperor?” Meng Qi seized the chance to ask casually.
Around them, the Jade Void’s mighty figures—Manjushri, the Red Essence, Yu Ding, and others—alongside Creation-level powerhouses like the Three Cloud Maidens, Maitreya, Dipankara, the World-Freedom King Buddha, and the Great Sage Who Pacifies Heaven, had also entered the gray stone hall. Their expressions were inscrutable, their auras deeply concealed, revealing nothing of their thoughts or emotions.
Guang Chengzi chuckled. “After the Heavenly Emperor’s ascension, the highest layer of the celestial realm was forbidden to outsiders. During the great battle, the Heavenly Venerates and Buddhas entered directly, while we could only cleanse the lower layers. How would we know?”
As expected… Meng Qi mused inwardly. Stepping forward, he passed the stele and pressed his hand against the ancient, rust-green bronze door. Behind him, the gazes of the mighty figures were as unfathomable as deep pools.
