Splash!
The entire Primordial Unity seemed to come alive, brimming with its own restlessness. The surging void and the abstract, indescribable concepts of life and death transformed into countless Dao patterns, each brimming with profound meaning. These patterns descended into the Wuji unleashed by Meng Qi and the Wusheng pointed out by Gu Xiaosang.
Though only black and white, these Dao patterns differentiated into innumerable layers through shades of depth, manifesting an unconventional scroll that seemed to contain all the mysteries of the Dao of life and death—forming its own Taiji!
One half of this scroll was serene and tranquil, embodying eternal death that encompassed all things, while the other half was dark and obscure, devoid of even abstract concepts, leaving only infinite possibilities that nurtured the most vibrant vitality. The two halves intertwined, their ends and beginnings merging, achieving a delicate balance that prevented the scroll—imbued with the Dao of life and death—from collapsing under its own overwhelming power.
At first, Meng Qi felt as though he was gradually being assimilated by the Dao. But as he was drawn deeper and refined it bit by bit, he realized he could now slightly manipulate the illusory concepts around him. He balanced the eerie, despair, and darkness with fervor, hope, and light, incorporating them into the Yin-Yang Seal. The Yin-Yang Seal transformed into Taiji, then collapsed in reverse, returning to Wuji, thereby encompassing both Yin and Yang, life and death!
Throughout this process, he sensed Gu Xiaosang’s consciousness swirling around his thoughts, while his own consciousness embraced hers in turn. Their spirits melded seamlessly, intertwining in an unprecedented harmony and synchronicity.
In this perfect harmony, both of them shuddered simultaneously. The profound scroll containing the Dao of life and death flew out, enveloping the colossal Buddha’s hand that sought to seize them.
Glazed light surged, black and white erupted, and countless Dao patterns floated within the luminous sea of Nirvana’s purity. In the end, both the scroll of life and death and the Buddha’s hand vanished without a trace.
The Emperor of Fengdu’s seemingly unstoppable strike had been blocked by Meng Qi and Gu Xiaosang!
At the same time, the Peerless Heavenly Blade, with its overwhelming dominance and no regard for retreat, dragged a terrifyingly resplendent purple radiance as it slashed toward the Emperor of Fengdu. It seemed intent on cleaving Him in two, reducing Him to ashes, taking advantage of the moment when His true nature was entangled by Zhenwu and His attention was fixed on Meng Qi and Gu Xiaosang refining the Primordial Unity.
Meanwhile, the Tree of Dao also soared into the air. Under Meng Qi’s control, it restrained its greed for the surroundings and fluttered around the Seven Treasures Exquisite Tree, delaying its sweeping motion.
Thud!
The Emperor of Fengdu pressed His two palms—imbued with death and samsara—together before Him, perfectly catching the lightning-imbued Peerless Heavenly Blade.
Yet, a fine crack appeared on His black full-body armor, sizzling with electric flames. Engaged in three battles simultaneously, He had finally revealed a flaw that should not have existed, allowing a sliver of the blade’s overwhelming force to penetrate.
The Emperor of Fengdu’s deep, gem-like eyes betrayed no emotion, as if He had made a decisive resolution.
Meanwhile, Meng Qi’s refinement grew smoother. The conflicting concepts of life and death were harmonized and balanced through his cooperation with Gu Xiaosang, gradually merging into the Dao power related to the Yin-Yang Seal. A sense of tangible form began to emerge, and vague, fragmented Dao patterns manifested, granting him deeper comprehension and mastery over life and death, Yin and Yang.
Boom!
Under Meng Qi’s deliberate guidance, these Dao patterns, insights, and mastery condensed into a mirror—white on one side, black on the other. The mirror spun, collapsed, then suddenly ascended, flying into his true nature’s radiance, which resided at an infinitely high plane.
Boom!
Amidst the illusory sound of collapse, life and death, Yin and Yang returned to their origins, unified within his true nature’s radiance. They were no longer separate, yet could be derived anew at any moment through the act of creation. Empowered by this, Meng Qi’s true nature radiance climbed higher and grew stronger, naturally projecting itself across the myriad realms of the universe without conscious effort.
In that brief moment, he broke through two major barriers—from Legendary to Creation. His “Other-Self Projections” emerged naturally, and the Yin-Yang Seal within his self-derived knowledge sublimated by encompassing life and death, advancing toward the Dao. It even gained vague, fragmented aspects of the “Dao” itself. Moreover, due to the balance of the beginning and the end with Gu Xiaosang, the Wuji Seal, after assimilating Yin-Yang and life-death, also began to evolve.
If he did not forcibly pursue the sublimation of Wuji Chaos, Meng Qi was now only one step away from becoming a Great Divine Ability user—truly sensing the Sea of Bitterness.
However, as he ascended, the gap between him and Gu Xiaosang widened. Their balance seemed to tilt toward an abyss. But Gu Xiaosang had long prepared for this. Seizing the opportunity presented by this tilt, illusory surroundings manifested around her as she took the step toward self-affirming her uniqueness.
Layers of celestial realms materialized in the sky, while the depths of the Nine Nether emerged simultaneously—the first category of dual anomalies had appeared!
Yet, within these anomalies, the celestial realms carried an ethereal and eternal aura, while the Nine Nether lacked its usual chaos and malevolence. This was unique—the first category of Legendary anomalies exclusive to the lineage of the Old Mother of No Birth, never before seen. It was called “Heaven and Earth, the Eternal Home,” where both celestial realms and the Nine Nether would ultimately return to the homeland.
The first category of anomalies vanished in an instant, replaced by a white lotus floating midair. It exuded various hues of innate virtues, growing purer and darker toward its center until it formed chaos—a subtle, indistinct point embodying nothingness and finality. The petals of the white lotus bloomed layer by layer, each symbolizing a different path, encompassing all things and delivering salvation to all beings.
Gu Xiaosang’s second category of Legendary anomaly: “Chaos White Lotus”!
Witnessing this, the Emperor of Fengdu, who had already made His decision, took a heavy step forward. His hands flung the Peerless Heavenly Blade aside, conjuring the illusion of samsara. He abruptly dragged His true nature’s radiance into it, freeing it from Zhenwu’s purple sword light.
The anomaly reversed, swallowing the Emperor of Fengdu’s body before elongating and transforming, “reincarnating” a new Emperor of Fengdu—one at the peak of His power and majesty.
Even more terrifying, this new Emperor of Fengdu concealed death within, His armor now white, brimming with vitality. Zhenwu’s sword light abruptly lost its connection to His aura, dissipating amidst abstract concepts.
His reasoning was clear: Zhenwu had not yet fully shaken off His bizarre state, attacking only through instinctive reactions to conflicting auras. Once He underwent “reincarnation,” no longer embodying death, the aura would sever, leaving the still-unrecovered Zhenwu confused and without a target—no longer a threat.
Having paid the immense price of “reincarnating” once, the Emperor of Fengdu rid Himself of His strongest foe and could now focus entirely on disrupting Meng Qi and Gu Xiaosang’s refinement of the Primordial Unity of life and death.
As one of the Three Corpses of a Nirvana-level figure and a long-standing Creation Perfection expert, how could He fail to recognize the opportunity? It was only a matter of whether He was willing to pay the corresponding price!
His left hand reached out, bringing samsara into reality—a dreamlike haze that trapped the lightning-wreathed Peerless Heavenly Blade within. The vitality and supreme righteousness canceled each other out, leaving the blade powerless to escape for the time being. This was a tactic He had once used against the Great Sage Equal to Heaven.
At the same time, the Emperor of Fengdu’s right hand grasped the Seven Treasures Exquisite Tree, which had been entangled by the Tree of Dao and thus failed to sweep Meng Qi away. He channeled His formidable Dao power and several illusory Great Daos into it, causing a dazzling radiance to erupt. Seven-colored purity cascaded down, bringing stillness and Nirvana to all things. First, it completely repelled the Tree of Dao. Then, it targeted Meng Qi directly, sweeping away abstract concepts, the frenzy of life and death, and the layers of vague Dao patterns surrounding him.
Amidst this, the “Chaos White Lotus” dissipated naturally, replaced by countless glittering stars that filled the void, converging into a dazzling sea.
Gu Xiaosang had successfully stepped into the Legendary realm. Yet, after the “Starlit Sea” anomaly faded, the Primordial Unity of life and death stirred once more, manifesting a tranquil and harmonious world—a final, unchanging outcome where all beings attained eternal bliss.
Like Meng Qi, she had manifested a fourth category of anomaly—not “Dual Worlds Coexisting,” but “Eternal Homecoming,” derived from refining a portion of the Primordial Unity of life and death!
With her ascension to Legendary, balance was restored. Meng Qi and Gu Xiaosang once again leveraged the Primordial Unity, condensing a black-and-white scroll containing nearly all the mysteries of life and death.
As the scroll took form, Meng Qi’s refinement intensified. The Wuji completed its evolution, merging chaos and nothingness, coexisting as both the beginning and the end. It independently formed a balanced Taiji and returned to his true nature’s radiance!
His true nature radiance climbed even higher. He now perceived the myriad emotions and sufferings of all living beings, realizing they could never attain eternity or transcend their bonds—collectively forming an illusory Sea of Bitterness. To be within this sea was to be denied eternal bliss.
Another Creation barrier had been broken!
The scroll flew out, clashing with the Seven Treasures Exquisite Tree, locking both in a brief stalemate.
At that moment, the Emperor of Fengdu suddenly sensed extreme danger—as if standing at the brink of death. But before He could break free from the deadlock, a purple, sunlit sword light struck Him.
The sword light split infinitely, targeting every single one of His thoughts, leaving Him no hope of revival!
“Dao Transmits the Cosmos!”
The killer was none other than the Demon-Subduing Heavenly Venerable, Zhenwu!
*How is this possible? Wasn’t He only attacking instinctively, driven by conflicting auras?* The Emperor of Fengdu’s gaze froze upon a figure clad in imperial robes, wearing a flat-topped crown, His face lean, His eyes profound and gleaming with wisdom, a faint smile playing on His lips.
Zhenwu showed not the slightest hint of lost intellect!
Nor did He appear to be in any state between life and death!
