Chapter 1167: Immortal Fate

Was that the Kunlun Mountain?

Was that the Jade Empty Palace?

Was that the legendary Great Master, the only one across all realms?

They had once been fortunate enough to enter the holy land of immortals and paid homage to the Primordial Emperor Immortal Venerable, yet failed to recognize the mountains before them, treating everything as ordinary and leaving carelessly. Now, the traces of immortals were ethereal and distant, shrouded in clouds and mist, impossible to locate. Gazing blankly at the nearby spiritual and exquisite peaks, Yu Banshan and Qi Jinxiu felt their emotions surge with regret, frustration, and disappointment.

That night, the sky was hazy, stars as large as dippers, the Daoist temple appeared ordinary, with spirits guarding the gate, and a blue-robed Taoist sitting alone admiring lotuses. Everything seemed so mundane, just like any common scene in the immortal realm. Who could have known it was actually a rare and invaluable chance to encounter an immortal!

Encountering an immortal in a desolate mountain and then rising to prominence—similar stories were countless and passed down through generations. Yet, in this vast world, how many could truly obtain such a rare chance to meet an immortal, especially one of legendary status, far surpassing even the celestial immortals of heaven, earth, and humanity?

Yet they had missed that chance…

As these thoughts stirred, Yu Banshan took a deep breath and said solemnly, “Jinxiu, don’t lose heart. We are newly arrived in the immortal realm; it’s understandable that we failed to recognize the Immortal Venerable at first sight. If we give up now, the Great Master might look down upon us. Instead, let’s first learn more, understand the situation thoroughly, and then ascend Kunlun Mountain to search for the Jade Empty Palace deep within the clouds.”

Qi Jinxiu was momentarily stunned but then nodded firmly, “Alright!”

This was the Yu Banshan she had long cherished—a man of perseverance and unshakable resolve.

Her gaze shifted to the window, once again taking in the spiritual and exquisite peaks veiled in mist.

Could a missed chance at immortality still be reclaimed?

At that moment, food and wine were served, and after satisfying their hunger, Yu Banshan mused, “Today, we’ve often heard mention of the Multiversal Awareness Talisman. It seems to be an essential item in the immortal realm, and apparently not hard to obtain. To understand the general situation here, we must rely first on observation and listening, and secondly, mostly on this talisman.”

Being newcomers, they dared not appear unusual. Ordinary inquiries had many limitations, making it quite inconvenient.

“But where can we obtain the Multiversal Awareness Talisman?” Qi Jinxiu’s gaze drifted through the nearby window, casually looking down at the street below. Her eyes immediately caught sight of a shop because of its prominent signboard reading:

“Specialty Store for Multiversal Awareness Talismans.”

This… Qi Jinxiu’s mouth slightly opened in disbelief.

It was actually this easy to find!

They were everywhere, scattered across streets and alleys!

She had worried needlessly about where to obtain it!

Soon, after finishing lunch, the two left the tavern and headed straight for the shop. Inside, they saw various palm-sized thin plates—some metallic like copper or iron, others golden and noble, some engraved with flowers, and so on, differing greatly.

“This must be the strange item those in the tavern were holding… So this is the Multiversal Awareness Talisman…” Yu Banshan nodded inwardly, suddenly enlightened.

Qi Jinxiu looked around in awe, and after a while, even found some of the talismans aesthetically pleasing, sparking a desire to collect them.

Yu Banshan chose first to observe without asking directly. He noticed that the Multiversal Awareness Talismans were categorized into different tiers, each marked with different prices, ranging from a few taels of silver to hundreds or even thousands.

“It seems their powers differ,” Yu Banshan silently conveyed to Qi Jinxiu. “But I wonder if there are additional requirements for purchasing these divine items.”

Qi Jinxiu thought for a moment and said, “Let me try to find out.”

She beckoned a shop assistant, pretending to inquire about the differences, skillfully probing with her years of experience in the martial world. Eventually, she roughly figured out the requirements for different levels of Multiversal Awareness Talismans.

“Banshan, without our immortal realm status or household registration, we can’t purchase the complete versions. We can only choose the cheapest two tiers, which only have basic functions like long-distance communication, martial arts exchanges, and commodity trading, and are easily damaged,” Qi Jinxiu conveyed.

Yu Banshan nodded and said, “For now, this should suffice for us.”

He sighed, “The vast landscapes of a thousand miles condensed into our palms, enabling direct conversation even from the farthest corners of the heavens. Back in our original world, such an item would be the most divine treasure imaginable. Yet here in the immortal realm, everyone possesses it, it’s readily available, and costs almost nothing!”

The more he learned about the immortal realm, the more amazed and awestruck he became. It far exceeded all his previous imaginings, full of things unheard of and unseen. Divine techniques and immortal treasures that could provoke bloodshed and chaos in their world were treated so casually here!

They spent most of their silver to purchase two Multiversal Awareness Talismans, then found an inn, locked the doors and windows tightly, and gathered together to activate one immediately.

Light and shadow floated, and a water-like screen appeared before Yu Banshan and Qi Jinxiu, accompanied by a soft and pleasant sound in their ears.

Two options appeared on the screen: one was external projection, and the other was display within the eyes. Yu Banshan unhesitatingly chose the first. The scene changed, with clouds and mist as the backdrop and peaks faintly emerging—somewhat resembling the Kunlun Mountain they had just seen.

Lines of text then appeared:

“Welcome to using the Multiversal Awareness Talisman. New users may choose the following guidance, or skip directly.”

“New User Options: Introduction to Multiversal Awareness Talisman; How to Obtain Current Common Knowledge; How to Use the Multiversal Mall…”

Yu Banshan and Qi Jinxiu exchanged glances, their eyes filled with astonishment. The Multiversal Awareness Talisman was not only sentient but also surprisingly user-friendly.

After a moment of thought, they simultaneously pointed at “Introduction to Multiversal Awareness Talisman.”

“This product is based on the Multiversal Awareness Sphere created by the Primordial Emperor Immortal Venerable of the Jade Empty Palace on Kunlun Mountain. It enables communication across all parts of the Real World and its countless universes below. As long as both parties possess a Multiversal Awareness Talisman and know each other’s numbers, they can communicate freely even if they are not in the same realm, as if face-to-face…”

“This product comes with the Multiversal Awareness Realm, where users can exchange martial arts knowledge, discuss various issues, obtain cultivation materials, and trade necessary items…”

This introduction left Yu Banshan and Qi Jinxiu slightly stunned. Even the divine treasures they knew of were no better than this—perhaps even inferior. They had imagined that in the immortal realm, people might use flying swords to deliver messages across thousands of miles. Yet the Multiversal Awareness Talisman allowed direct conversations as if face-to-face, even across the farthest reaches of the heavens!

Such a divine treasure was also surprisingly affordable!

And all of this was created by the Primordial Emperor Immortal Venerable of the Jade Empty Palace on Kunlun Mountain—the blue-robed Taoist they had encountered that night!

After a long silence, Qi Jinxiu exited the introduction and selected the second beginner’s guide, hoping to learn how to obtain current common knowledge. The screen then displayed more content, such as “Introduction to the Six Holy Lands,” “Introduction to Renowned Immortal Experts,” and “Instructional Videos on the Starfire Great Method.” Based on the accompanying text, they understood that these were linked to different locations. Clicking on them as needed truly overturned their previous understanding of the Multiversal Awareness Talisman.

Without hesitation, Yu Banshan first selected the “Introduction to the Six Holy Lands.” Numerous texts immediately appeared:

“The Daoist Holy Lands: Kunlun Mountain Jade Empty Palace, led by the Grand Master ‘Primordial Emperor’ Su Meng, who has self-proven his legendary status, the only one across all realms, the greatest being in the current age. He is the direct disciple of the ancient Jade Empty lineage, cultivating the ‘Primordial Golden Chapter.’ Rumors suggest he is the reincarnation of the Primordial Celestial Venerable. He has two disciples, one of whom is the Palace Guardian…”

The greatest being in the current age, the reincarnation of the Primordial Celestial Venerable? Through the Starfire Great Method’s introduction, Yu Banshan and Qi Jinxiu already understood how powerful and revered legendary masters were. They knew the Primordial Emperor Immortal Venerable’s status among immortals, but they never expected his background to be so immense, possibly even the reincarnation of the Primordial Celestial Venerable!

In their original world, the Primordial Celestial Venerable was a creator deity, the Dao Patriarch, the supreme being above all immortals and gods. According to the Starfire Great Method, he was a figure from the other shore. And the Primordial Emperor Immortal Venerable was his reincarnation?

Startled, Qi Jinxiu suddenly recalled something. Previously, when she had gone to the Daoist temple to fulfill a vow, she noticed that the statue of the Primordial Celestial Venerable had changed significantly. It was said that many Daoists had simultaneously dreamed of the Venerable’s current appearance, prompting them to renovate the statue.

Comparing that with the blue-robed Taoist they had seen the previous night, there was indeed a striking resemblance!

Could it truly be the Primordial Celestial Venerable?

A sense of soul-shaking fear surged within her, and she hurriedly told Yu Banshan, who shared the same shock and bewilderment.

After a long while, Yu Banshan solemnly said, “Let’s enter the mountains later. I hope there’s still a chance for us to encounter immortality and see the Jade Empty Palace.”

“Mm.” Qi Jinxiu also did not wish to abandon this chance at immortality.

The text continued to appear before them:

“The Two Buddhist Holy Lands: the Eastern Lapis Light Pure Land and the Earthly Buddha Realm. The former is guarded by the Moonlight Bodhisattva, who is at least a legendary being, possibly even a cosmic one. The latter is led by the rumored reincarnation of Maitreya, whose current cultivation level remains unknown.”

“The Leftist Holy Land: Luojiao’s Void Hometown, where three awakened legendary masters have already risen…”

“The Demon Clan Holy Land: the elusive Demon Emperor Palace, said to have welcomed back many ancient Great Sages, with at least two currently capable of intervening…”

“The Human Holy Land: Great Zhou’s Eternal Joy, led by the current Human Emperor Gao Lan, who has two legendary masters under him. They are currently constructing the ‘Heaven-Sealing Platform.’ If successful, it will enable humanity to govern the heavens, directly bestowing divinity upon the human race and wielding the authority of heaven and earth…”

With this newfound knowledge, Yu Banshan and Qi Jinxiu gained a rough understanding of the immortal realm, realizing it was called the Real World. They also understood that the Jade Empty Palace on Kunlun Mountain was among the most influential forces in existence. Unfortunately, they had entered a treasure land without realizing it.

As dusk approached, Yu Banshan thought for a moment and said, “Jinxiu, let’s enter Kunlun Mountain now.”

There was no time to delay!
