Since Moonlight Bodhisattva might survive into the future, after his initial surprise, Meng Qi quickly changed his thoughts and smiled: “I have a small favor to ask of the Bodhisattva, to help me wrap things up swiftly, so as to avoid unnecessary complications.”
By altering Moonlight Bodhisattva’s future and changing the fate of His demise at the hands of the Demon Buddha, Meng Qi no longer felt shy about seeking help, becoming shamelessly audacious.
“Please speak freely,” Moonlight Bodhisattva replied with a smile, readily agreeing without hesitation.
Meng Qi hesitated slightly before saying, “We plan to rebuild Master Chunyang’s mausoleum and reestablish the lineage to maintain the historical course as much as possible. However, the original location of the mausoleum has already been exposed, drawing constant visitors and coveted by powerful individuals. Building nearby might confirm our enemies’ suspicions and lead us into another trap. Therefore, I would like to rebuild it further away. Once time passes and the original site is forgotten, I will ask the Bodhisattva to help relocate it entirely and conceal it well, waiting for a destined successor.”
He carefully considered that Gourdo and Sudaki might have already thought of the idea of “rebuilt mausoleum and reestablished lineage,” likely monitoring the area closely. Once they noticed anything suspicious, they would summon the Overlord to wipe them out in one fell swoop. Thus, he planned to take a more circuitous route, relying on Moonlight Bodhisattva’s help to perfectly wrap up this matter.
“This is easy enough. However, rebuilding the mausoleum far from its original location won’t fully reduce the force of cosmic correction you’ll endure. At best, it will only mitigate half of it, meaning you will depart earlier than others,” Moonlight Bodhisattva gently nodded in agreement while reminding Meng Qi.
Meng Qi smiled: “No problem. Anyway, I will soon return using the Buddhist bead and the Dragon Platform Formation. A day or two earlier won’t make much difference. They’ll all have to accompany me back. Once we pass this point, there won’t be another chance.”
Changing the topic, he continued: “I also request the Bodhisattva’s help in monitoring Gourdo and Sudaki, preventing them from spreading any news about the treasure. Furthermore, if they move away from the Overlord, please inform me of their exact location so we can use the Pure Land to eliminate this threat.”
Moonlight Bodhisattva, like a radiant moon, spoke in a solemn and ethereal voice: “The former is naturally my duty as part of the Lapis Lazuli Pure Land, while for the latter, I urge you to suppress as much as possible and avoid excessive bloodshed.”
Bhaisajyaguru Buddha established the Eastern Lapis Lazuli World through the “Twelve Great Vows,” naturally focusing on the Reward Body. Every word and action must align with the corresponding Daoist principles, constantly adjusting according to feedback to stay close to them. Deviating from one’s vows would immediately result in a fall, losing the Reward Body. Thus, Meng Qi knew that Moonlight Bodhisattva was genuinely compassionate, not a false saint, and he nodded earnestly: “We will do our best to suppress.”
He only said “do our best,” for if Gourdo and his followers resisted fiercely, posing a significant threat to himself, he would not hesitate to kill and eliminate them.
After making the promise, Meng Qi suddenly remembered something and smiled awkwardly: “Bodhisattva, I have one more request.”
Moonlight Bodhisattva chuckled: “You, you! This lazy look reminds me of that monkey who once pleaded before the Heavenly Venerable.”
The Heavenly Venerable He referred to was undoubtedly the Daoist incarnation of Bhaisajyaguru Buddha, Taiyi Saviour of the Afflicted, who once helped Sun Wukong capture Jiuling Yuansheng.
“Thank you for the compliment, Bodhisattva,” Meng Qi humorously replied, quickly getting to the point: “Please help me locate my companion He Qi and transport me there, so I can rescue him before the Supreme Devil returns.”
Since Wu Daoming did not go to the East Sea and remained hidden in Luo City, searching for his trail, He Qi was most likely also in Luo City or nearby Devil Sect strongholds.
Seeing it was a rescue mission, Moonlight Bodhisattva did not speak further. A crescent-shaped eye suddenly opened on His forehead, hidden by a necklace, radiating clear light that illuminated the Real Realm, revealing every detail of Luo City.
After a short while, Moonlight Bodhisattva said: “He is in the Wang Family Courtyard in the village of Anping, three hundred miles east of Luo City. This courtyard is a Devil Sect stronghold, its prohibitions drawing slightly on the power of the Nine Nether Survey Map. Currently, two heretical Daoist Law Bodies are guarding it.”
“Thank you, Bodhisattva,” Meng Qi solemnly bowed, and with a flick of his sleeve, he absorbed the unconscious Zhu Chaosheng.
Indeed, the Supreme Devil had captured Zhu Chaosheng by utilizing the power of the Nine Nether Survey Map.
“Namo Bhaisajya Ratna Lapis Lazuli Buddha,” Moonlight Bodhisattva softly chanted. The entire Pure Land swayed, the Lapis Lazuli light transformed, and moonlight shone everywhere.
In the clear light, the scenery before Meng Qi shifted, and he found himself inside a strange prison.
The prison walls were all dark red, with blood flowing and constantly pulsing, as if it were the internal organs of some monster. He Qi was bound by blood vessels, glaring at the red-robed evil spirit opposite him.
Drip by drip, He Qi’s nearly colorless Law Body blood flowed through the vessels to the evil spirit, each drop seemingly causing him immense pain.
The red-robed evil spirit sneered: “With your blood, I shall cleanse my body. After forty-nine days, you will become my puppet, at my mercy, to live or die, to fall into devilry or not.”
Outside the prison was a normal courtyard with rockeries and pavilions, but those coming and going were all vicious inside, powerful indeed, authentic Devil Sect experts.
When the moonlight shone, He Qi and the red-robed evil spirit noticed Meng Qi appearing simultaneously.
Meng Qi did not speak, and his sleeve opened again. The sky and earth darkened, and a violent wind arose, tearing the blood vessels and sucking He Qi inside.
At the same time, he raised his right hand and clenched it into a fist. Within his acupoints, the boundless universe and the cavern-heaven realm manifested simultaneously, collapsing into the tip of his fist as he struck the crimson-robed malevolent spirit.
Bang!
A fist-sized chaos hole appeared between Meng Qi and the red-robed evil spirit. The surrounding void shattered and reformed, curling and twisting, emitting terrifying suction and a heavy force that could tear everything apart.
The red-robed evil spirit’s expression changed instantly. He continuously used martial arts and techniques to resist, but the forces he unleashed were like clay oxen sinking into the sea, entirely absorbed by the chaos hole. Even he himself was irresistibly drawn in.
“Enemy attack…” his voice did not escape the dark vision. His Law Body was swallowed and torn into pieces.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The prison’s bloody walls shattered, flying into the pitch-black chaos hole. Meng Qi had already taken He Qi and Zhu Chaosheng far away from Luo City.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The rockeries in the Wang Family Courtyard collapsed, pavilions broke, the forbidden arts disintegrated, and the Devil Sect experts desperately ran outward, but their bodies felt as if grabbed and dragged backward. The more they ran, the more they retreated, their bodies soon tearing apart and flying toward the chaos hole, completely crushed, not even able to scream before their cries vanished from the courtyard.
The heavens and earth suppressed, and the chaos hole gradually vanished, leaving only the outermost wall of the Wang Family Courtyard. Inside was empty, reaching down hundreds of feet underground, a void, occasionally drifting with the “digestive residue” spewed by the chaos hole.
In the span of a single breath, the “Supreme Demon” Wu Daoming—his sleeves billowing, his thick brows furrowed, and his sunken eyes sharp—detected the collapse of the borrowed power from the Nine Nether Survey Map. Swiftly, he returned to the Wang Family Courtyard, hovering midair as he silently surveyed the desolate emptiness below.
“He indeed has some skills. No wonder the Overlord couldn’t handle him,” Wu Daoming muttered softly. Every acupoint in his demon body was open, continuously plundering the heavens and earth, the red dust, growing stronger every moment.
Upon ascending to the Immortal rank, his Demon Emperor Golden Body underwent another transformation, becoming synonymous with “plunder”—as if it were the very incarnation of the Nine Nether. Even without taking any action, he could ceaselessly drain the heavens and the earth, causing them to gradually wither, hastening the decline of the Dharma, and ultimately leading to complete annihilation. Likewise, he could seize the power of every Law Body, every Scenery, every acupoint, and every ordinary being, akin to the origin of disease and the sovereign of calamities. The strength lost to illness, aging, or misfortune would be directly siphoned by him, while diseases, plagues, and disasters would proliferate as his plundering intensified.
This allowed him to grow at an extremely fast pace without needing to cultivate specifically. Perhaps in a year, the Supreme Devil would be able to easily defeat his current self.
…
In Luo City, Meng Qi activated the “Cause of All Fruits,” forging causal threads and creating false heavenly omens, no longer appearing chaotic to observers.
He Qi was healing, sitting opposite Master Lu, taking out the Jade Statue of Tai Shang Lao Jun, which contained the great skill of “Transforming into Three Pure Ones.”
“It can still complete the True Transmission about ten times. Senior Lu, we each take one and then place it back into the rebuilt mausoleum,” Meng Qi suggested.
Su Wuming excelled in awakening the “Other Self” and had a fragment of the Dong Huang Bell, so he would surely not miss the opportunity to leave an imprint in his past life, which would be of infinite use in the future. In contrast, Meng Qi and Master Lu had unique paths—one without a past life and the other not needing one in the future. How to leave an imprint in ancient times to lay the foundation for future retrospection still needed exploration. Therefore, taking “Transforming into Three Pure Ones” first would settle the causal relationship with Tai Shang Lao Jun in this matter, preventing any inability to return.
