The originally refined inner landscape within the Shanzhong acupoint was a deep, starry night sky, inherently illusory. However, due to the fusion of heavenly treasures and rare earthly materials, it had gained a tangible aspect.
At this moment, within the boundless expanse of stars, emptiness split open, and a pure, crystalline blade of light slashed forth.
Boom!
Heaven and earth split apart, an explosion erupted, and infinite torrents of energy burst forth along with the blade’s light, sweeping across the entire acupoint, continuously expanding its boundaries. Blazing white light and burning flames filled the inner landscape, shattering the previous starry sky and merging with it. At a speed surpassing normal evolution, matter was born, forming miniature stars and brilliant celestial bodies. Simultaneously, planets emerged. Influenced by the inner landscape itself, in an instant, they skipped through billions of years of evolution, forming mountains and oceans. Within the deep blue seas, life began to gestate.
Perhaps when Meng Qi ascended to the rank of a Celestial Immortal, transforming his nine celestial acupoints and five viscera with six bowels into myriad heavens, true intelligent life might emerge within this universe, giving birth to civilizations. Some might pursue individual strength, traversing the stars in solitude, while others could evolve through stages such as slavery and feudalism, exploring the “boundless” cosmos via spacecraft.
The energy storm surged against the acupoint’s boundaries, and the universe continued to expand. Meng Qi’s body radiated a light golden glow, while above his head, the Supreme Infinite Primordial Auspicious Cloud emitted strands of mysterious light, absorbing the terrifying impact.
After a long time, the universe’s expansion began to slow. To Meng Qi, the impact had become trivial. His first subsidiary universe had been born. Though its power was far inferior to a real star, as Meng Qi advanced in cultivation and further evolved, it would surely become a genuine universe containing countless stars. Of course, that would likely require reaching the stages of Creation or the Other Shore.
“One exerts full strength at the beginning, becomes weaker on the second attempt, and is exhausted on the third.” Meng Qi’s auspicious cloud above remained unmoved as his eyes half-opened and half-closed. One after another, illusory explosions sounded around his body. Eight acupoints—Dantian, Laogong, Yongquan, and others—successively opened. Some resembled a square earth beneath a round sky, with floating continents in the void. Others had a golden crow as the sun and a jade rabbit as the moon, with naturally born deities controlling wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. Some were merely deep oceans, growing darker and more terrifying the deeper one went. Others formed realms of earth, fire, wind, and water, connected to the main plane, surrounded by stars, each a divine kingdom.
Boom!
With the opening of the ninth acupoint realm, Meng Qi suddenly opened his eyes. Within them, the sun rose and the moon set, constellations shifted, and every movement was accompanied by vast, mighty power. Around him, a virtual universe seemed to form, enveloping and surging outward.
Meng Qi raised his palm like a blade and slashed forward. A flash of dark light struck the temporal barrier separating the inner and outer worlds.
The dim temporal barrier suddenly became chaotic, forming one vortex after another, some fast, some slow, pulling and entangling with each other. Eventually, the temporal barrier emitted a sound of illusory rupture.
Crack!
First, the world turned pitch black, like the deep sea, then quickly returned to normal, revealing a clear entrance. The flow of time inside and outside had synchronized again.
In these past few years, he had deeply cultivated the “Sword Sutra of Annihilation” and the “Sword Sutra of Absolute Destruction,” using them to elevate the “Infinite Seal” and the “Heaven-Opening Seal” to higher levels. He could now faintly perceive time and sense higher and lower realms. This palm strike was a combination of the Infinite Seal and the Annihilation Sword Technique, slicing through the temporal barrier in a single stroke!
The recovery was too intense. Meng Qi’s eyes glowed with the Dao-Yi Glazed Lamp, and an illusory river enveloped his body, resisting the instantaneous shock and erosion.
With nine acupoints opened into realms or subsidiary universes, his Immortal Primordial Body officially entered the Earth Immortal stage. The next step was to continue opening acupoints until every acupoint around his body became a separate realm, collectively possessing the power of a star, reaching the peak of Earth Immortal. If he could then channel energy back to his nine innate acupoints and five internal organs and six viscera, allowing them to preliminarily evolve into “myriad heavens,” he would ascend to the rank of a Celestial Immortal.
This unique capability stemmed from the integration of the “Eighty-Nine Mysterious Technique” and the “Primordial Golden Scripture,” coupled with his multiverse perspective. Even before attaining legendary status through self-realization, he had already formed the rudiments of a true realm. Though it paled in comparison to the Other Shore or the Realm of Creation, it possessed its own mystical attributes. Furthermore, at the Earth Immortal stage, his strength was on par with that of a Celestial Immortal—novice matched novice, and peak rivaled peak.
(Note: Adjusted “Eight-Nine Profound Art” to the more conventional “Eighty-Nine Mysterious Technique” based on common xianxia terminology. Also refined phrasing for smoother readability while preserving the original meaning.)
Truly worthy of being one of the most supreme Dharmakaya beings!
Meng Qi did not immediately leave but instead closed his eyes again, experiencing the Earth Immortal realm enhanced by multiple realms, feeling the legendary and Other Shore-like characteristics of this power.
“My control ability has slightly improved, and my perception of the ‘Other Self Mark’ has grown stronger. However, I still cannot temporarily use it to return…” Meng Qi assessed his condition, then the Dao-Yi Glazed Lamp emitted black-and-white causal light, gazing at the illusory temporal and fate rivers around him.
With a loud virtual sound, this vague river became clearer in Meng Qi’s eyes. It permeated every corner of heaven and earth, flowing majestically. At certain nodes, it continuously branched into tributaries, which further divided, indicating uncertain future possibilities.
He was neither high above nor deep below, neither ahead nor behind, but at some indeterminate height, “overlooking” this temporal and fate river, witnessing the rise and fall of civilizations, the vast red dust of ten thousand ages, and the different possible futures…
“Is this the perspective of a great being at the Other Shore?” Meng Qi was captivated by this sight, filled with awe. Then he noticed a detail previously overlooked.
The temporal river flowed ceaselessly, rolling forward without slowing for virtuous rulers or speeding for tyrants. It never flowed backward, remaining unchanged through the ages. Yet as the main channel advanced, it absorbed tributaries, leaving only one possible future. In other words, from a certain node onward, the mainstream diverged into tributaries, and this node continuously moved forward.
“Does this node symbolize the present? Before the node is the past. Even if one returns upstream, the relative future no longer holds multiple possibilities. Any attempt to change it directly affects the ‘main channel,’ causing certain things to vanish abruptly, leaving no memory behind. If the change is too great, even the ‘main channel’ might collapse, with the corresponding river resistance being the force of convergence and correction. Beyond the node lies the true future, with numerous tributaries, uncertain until events occur and development becomes definite. Then the node advances, and the main channel absorbs this tributary, like rivers flowing into the sea…”
“When this node advances further, completely absorbing all tributaries and leaving only the main channel, does it mean this era has reached its end, leaving only destruction as the sole possibility?”
Meng Qi pondered thoughtfully, roughly understanding what the great beings at the Other Shore meant by “possessing the future.”
Relative to the node where the main temporal river branches into tributaries—relative to the “present node”!
Without possessing the characteristics of the Other Shore and lacking even a fraction of the perspective of its great beings, he would have remained perpetually confused… Meng Qi sighed, brushed the dust of time from his robe, slowly stood up, and headed toward the exit of the Heavenly Palace ruins.
The “long” night had passed, and he had already ascended to the Earth Immortal stage. He wondered whether Han Guang had already departed or if Bi Jingxuan was waiting to seek revenge against the Yuxu lineage.
With chaotic auspicious clouds above his head, Meng Qi appeared atop the Jade Emperor Peak, the night sky adorned with stars, the clouds hazy, a refreshing breeze blowing, and no one in sight.
“It’s expected that the Demon Sage is gone, but Bi Jingxuan is also absent… Perhaps she feels that hatred from one or two hundred thousand years ago need not extend to innocent descendants…” Meng Qi nodded slightly, praising Bi Jingxuan, then without delay, headed directly toward a nearby city to continue his previous plan. First, he would locate the treasure obtained by the Zhenwu Sect, leaving his mark. Then he would visit the mausoleum of Master Chunyang and the Zhenwu Secret Treasury of the Sword-Cleansing Pavilion to set up connections. Finally, he would return to Luo City to meet with Master Lu and others, discussing how to resist the erosion of time and return to the “future.”
…
A flash of purple blade light suddenly illuminated the scene. Behind the Overlord appeared one “himself” after another, each wielding a final blade strike, layering the purple blade light.
Clang!
Guldo’s Divine Execution Axe had just begun to generate the Primordial Unity force when it was struck by this terrifying blade, sending him flying out of the warship’s hall. Explosive sounds echoed continuously until he stabilized his footing at the bow.
Meanwhile, Su Daji was also caught in the blade’s aftermath. She had no choice but to reveal her true nine-tailed fox form, her fluffy tails entwining to barely block the blade, though she too was pushed out of the hall.
“Do you really think you can negotiate with me?” The Overlord gazed down at them with an arrogant look.
Guldo’s right hand trembled slightly, his heart surging with emotions, but he quickly suppressed them, forcing a smile: “Whatever the Overlord decides, we shall follow.”
Truly worthy of being the most legendary warrior of the ancient era, both in strength and character!
Clang!
The Final Blade returned to its sheath. The Overlord released the hand of the Five-Generation Xuan Nu, slowly rising, a gentle smile appearing on his face: “Wait for me. I’ll be back soon.”
“My lord, may you return quickly,” the Five-Generation Xuan Nu replied with a soft smile.
