Chapter 25: The Whole Story

Zhai Moyi pushed open the door to Zhai Zuozuo’s room in one go.

Yao Zuizui was sitting at the desk playing on the computer when she heard the noise. She turned around, and their eyes met.

Confused, she asked, “Brother, what’s up?”

That single word—”brother”—shattered the confidence Zhai Moyi had painstakingly built up.

He opened his mouth but hesitated, unsure of what to say.

How could he say it?

“*I like you. Be with me*”?

Any normal person would be scared off.

Even though Zhai Zuozuo wasn’t exactly normal, he still didn’t dare blurt it out so recklessly.

He couldn’t take the risk. Zhai Zuozuo meant too much to him. He didn’t want to scare him away or make it harder to get close to him in the future.

“I just watched a movie…” Zhai Moyi trailed off, his intense gaze fixed on Yao Zuizui.

Yao Zuizui nodded casually. “Oh.”

“Aren’t you going to ask what movie I watched?” Zhai Moyi felt a pang of sadness. Why couldn’t he get even a little bit of attention?

“What movie did you watch?” Yao Zuizui asked earnestly, her clear eyes peering straight into his heart.

Zhai Moyi perked up a little, thinking that Zhai Zuozuo did care about him after all. Tentatively, he said, “It’s about a man who likes another man—a story of their rocky love.”

Yao Zuizui gave him a strange look. “Brother, since when do you watch movies like that?”

*Crap, almost gave myself away.* Zhai Moyi coughed a few times. “I just happened to come across it. Only watched a bit, didn’t pay much attention.”

The more he tried to cover it up, the more suspicious he seemed.

Under Zhai Zuozuo’s increasingly probing gaze, Zhai Moyi quickly changed the subject. “Zuozuo, what do you think about relationships between men?”

“Not my business. No opinion.” Yao Zuizui shrugged, making Zhai Moyi’s face darken with frustration.

For the next while, Zhai Moyi went all out with his not-so-subtle hints.

He took her to watch movies with similar themes, secretly slipped related novels under her pillow, and even changed the music playing in their living room to love songs of that nature.

Unfortunately, Yao Zuizui acted as dense as a block of wood—completely clueless and utterly innocent, staring back at him with those wide, wet, and utterly clueless eyes.

Zhai Moyi could barely sleep at night, and his work suffered as he poured all his energy into the grand mission of “turning Zhai Zuozuo.”

“Assistant Zhou, what should I do if I like someone but can’t have them?” Zhai Moyi asked gloomily.

“Boss Zhai, is there anyone in this world you *can’t* have?” Assistant Zhou flattered with a sycophantic smile. “If all else fails, we could always drug them? I still have some unused stuff—I’ll bring it for you tomorrow.”

Zhai Moyi’s sharp, icy gaze lasered into him.

Assistant Zhou shrank back, hastily defending himself. “Boss Zhai, don’t misunderstand! I’ve never drugged anyone! That stuff was left over from the *previous* Boss Zhai…”

Zhai Moyi’s expression darkened further.

That good-for-nothing actually drugged people?!

Well, then he couldn’t blame him for being ruthless!

Assistant Zhou stumbled out of the chairman’s office on shaky legs, only then realizing that the question Zhai Moyi had asked him was eerily similar to one he’d heard before…

The *previous* Boss Zhai, sitting in the same office chair, with clear eyes, flawless skin, and thin lips slightly parted, had once asked:

“Assistant Zhou, if I like someone, how can I make them mine?”

“Assistant Zhou, I heard drugging is a good method?”

……

Zhai Moyi finally got his hands on the long-awaited drug—and stumbled upon an unexpected truth in the process.

“Assistant Zhou, tell me—who did that *good-for-nothing*… I mean, Zhai Zuozuo, use this drug on?” Zhai Moyi narrowed his eyes, radiating danger.

Assistant Zhou swallowed hard and recounted the scene. “Boss Zhai, I really don’t know who the *previous* Boss Zhai liked… He liked a lot of people, changing targets every few days.”

Then, shivering, he lowered his head, afraid to say anything else that might anger Zhai Moyi.

“What does this drug do?” Zhai Moyi sniffed the bottle casually.

“Makes you weak, head feels heavy…” Assistant Zhou muttered. He was really a good person! Everything was forced on him by the *previous* Boss Zhai!

Suddenly, it was as if lightning struck Zhai Moyi.

The fog in his mind cleared instantly.

These symptoms… this drug… wasn’t this what that *good-for-nothing* had used on *him* before?!

Back then, he’d suspected Zhai Zuozuo for the longest time, unable to figure out why he’d drugged him.

Now, he finally understood!

*He liked him!*

Just like *he* liked *him*!

Joy surged through every cell in his body, making him want to sprint back home immediately.

He’d never felt such overwhelming happiness before—not even when inheriting the Zhai Corporation.

Nothing in the world could compare to the realization that the person he loved loved him back.

Sweat beading on his forehead, Zhai Moyi rushed to Yao Zuizui.

Excited, he waved the drug bottle in front of her, his eyes slightly red with emotion—nothing like his usual gloomy self.

“Zuozuo, you like me?” Zhai Moyi shook the bottle.

“Nope.” Yao Zuizui held back a laugh, answering seriously.

“Then why did you drug me?” The joy in Zhai Moyi’s eyes wavered. He truly couldn’t see a trace of affection in Zuozuo’s gaze.

“I was just experimenting on you. Once it worked, I planned to use it on someone I *actually* like.” Yao Zuizui stubbornly dug in her heels. The first one to admit feelings loses—she had to stay composed.

Zhai Moyi’s expression froze over, all traces of joy vanishing.

“You don’t like me,” he said darkly, picking up a glass of water and emptying the drug into it.

“I *don’t* like you,” Yao Zuizui huffed, stubborn to the core.

“Then I’ll just use *you* as my test subject.” A devilish smile curled on Zhai Moyi’s lips, like Satan himself emerging from the depths. The grin widened, growing more unsettling by the second.

He swirled the glass, waiting for the drug to dissolve, then looked at Yao Zuizui with feigned pity.

“Zuozuo, do you know? I’ve gone mad. I fell in love with a man… but he doesn’t love me back.”

“So, I’ll test this drug on *you* first!” He raised the glass, bringing it to Yao Zuizui’s lips.

“No!” Yao Zuizui struggled desperately. “Why test it on *me*?!”

“You’re a man—and the closest one to me. Of course I’d pick you, my dear *brother*.” Zhai Moyi overpowered her easily, prying her fingers off one by one.

Realizing she couldn’t win against his strength, Yao Zuizui gritted her teeth.

*Fine.*

Squeezing her eyes shut, she shouted, “*I’m a woman, not a man!*”

Several seconds passed before Zhai Moyi processed her words.

He stood there dumbly, like a confused black bear at the zoo.

“I’m a woman.” Seizing the chance, Yao Zuizui wriggled free and darted to the door.

“What did you say?”

“I’m a woman.”

“Say it again?”

“I’m. A. Woman.”

Zhai Moyi’s mind went blank for several minutes.

He’d suffered so much, tormenting himself over falling for a man—his *brother*, no less.

And now, he was being told that Zhai Zuozuo was actually a *woman*?

Had he saved the *galaxy* in his past life?

No—the entire *universe*!

Finally snapping out of it, after riding an emotional rollercoaster all day, Zhai Moyi found the sound of his own heartbeat utterly beautiful, his exhales light and free.

Seeing that Zhai Moyi had been standing there dumbstruck for ages, Yao Zuizui had already returned to her computer to continue gaming.

Then, she felt herself being pulled into a cold, tight embrace—so tight she couldn’t even move her gaming hands.

“What are you *doing*? You got me killed!” Yao Zuizui grumbled.

“You said you’re a woman?” Zhai Moyi repeated, still stuck on that.

“Are you *done* yet?” Yao Zuizui squirmed impatiently, only to be held even tighter.

“Let me check.” Zhai Moyi’s large hand groped a certain area. “Why so flat?”

Then, a cold hand slipped under her clothes.

“Oh~ So Zuozuo’s been wearing a binder…” Zhai Moyi’s voice deepened, a hint of roughness creeping in. “Hmm… I neglected these before. I’ll make up for it from now on.”

“You—!” Yao Zuizui was so furious she wanted to flip the table. How could Zhai Moyi, who always seemed so serious and traditional, suddenly turn into *this*?

What she didn’t know was that Zhai Moyi had been thoroughly corrupted by the novels he’d been sending her.

He personally screened every single one before giving them to her. Though he’d never “eaten pork,” he’d seen plenty of “pigs running”—and slowly, he’d been led astray.

——————

“Zuozuo, don’t worry. I’ll give you the best of everything.”

“Now that I’ve finally got you, I’ll never let go.”

“I know you like me. Stop pretending.”

Zhai Moyi’s murmurs were like whispers, like soft chants—beautiful, yet they made Yao Zuizui burn with embarrassment.

Zhai Moyi only grew more wicked, his methods more varied.

Nothing he did was meant to hurt her, yet everything left her too flustered to lift her head or straighten her back.

In this world, they spent another ten years in shameless bliss.

Yao Zuizui didn’t understand why, even though Zhai Moyi loved her, she still couldn’t return to the divine realm.

*Probably because he doesn’t love me enough.*

So, as Zhai Moyi whispered endless sweet nothings, utterly intoxicated, as if ready to carve out his heart for her, Yao Zuizui cursed him inwardly.

*Faker!*

*You don’t love me enough!*

*Otherwise, the soul fragment would’ve purified long ago, and I’d be back in the divine realm!*

*Men are all trash!*

Sacrificing herself for world peace, Yao Zuizui sniffled.

*I’m just too noble.*
