Chapter 335: The Disciple’s Hidden Depths

Jin Lin silently glanced at Mo Changxing.

The two of them had just come to watch the excitement and incidentally ate some cake…

Now, was this the price they had to pay for eating that cake?

Whatever, bring it on!

Jin Lin steeled his heart. These few little demons weren’t even worth his attention.

Besides, he wasn’t the only one in trouble—Mo Changxing, his senior brother, was right there with him!

“I…”

“You all want to spar with us?”

Jin Lin was about to step forward when Mo Changxing unexpectedly cut him off.

The little demons glanced at the composed Purple Song Sage, then at their two terrifying senior brothers. Finally, steeling themselves, they shouted in unison, “Yes! Please enlighten us, senior brothers! And… go easy on us!”

“Fine.” Mo Changxing nodded readily. “Then all of you come at us together first, so Master can get a general idea of your individual strengths. After that, we’ll spar one by one, allowing him to assess your abilities in more detail.”

Purple Song Sage was taken aback, eyeing Mo Changxing suspiciously.

Since when was this brat so considerate? What was he scheming?!

The little demons were equally stunned.

Their supposedly fearsome senior brothers were actually this kind-hearted? Such brotherly love—who would’ve thought?!

“Please enlighten us, senior brothers,” the little demons chorused, bowing respectfully.

Jin Lin quietly sidled up to Mo Changxing and muttered, “What are you up to?”

“Deal with them all at once—less hassle,” Mo Changxing replied in a low voice.

Jin Lin immediately understood.

The little demons swiftly encircled the two of them and, moments later, unleashed their full arsenal of attacks.

Jin Lin crossed his hands, golden light blazing in his palms as a dense rain began to fall from the sky.

Seeing that the rain had been summoned by Jin Lin, the little demons didn’t dare take it lightly. Each of them used their signature techniques to avoid getting drenched.

Rain conjured by a master? Definitely trouble!

For a moment, over a hundred little demons could be seen frantically swinging swords, hammers, clothes, and broadswords above their heads…

In short, they employed every possible method to keep the raindrops from touching them. The scene was nothing short of chaotic pandemonium.

Purple Song Sage watched in speechless exasperation…

Just then, a puzzled voice piped up, “Huh? This rain has no offensive power—it’s just ordinary rainwater!”

The speaker was a little demon whose magic had faltered, leaving him completely soaked.

“It really is just normal rain!” a few others chimed in.

The demons still flailing to avoid the rain froze in bewilderment.

These disciples’ intelligence is severely lacking!

Purple Song Sage made his first observation after watching the battle.

“Hahaha!” Jin Lin couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “You’re all so adorable!”

They’d been tricked! That was the little demons’ immediate realization.

Jin Lin recited another incantation, and the rain intensified, drenching every last one of them.

Exchanging a glance with Mo Changxing, Jin Lin leaped into the air and suddenly unleashed a watery barrier, aiming straight for Purple Song Sage outside the battle circle.

A glint of dark light flashed in Purple Song Sage’s eyes as he remained seated, casually erecting a defensive barrier.

These brats actually dared to ambush their master—how audacious!

*BOOM!*

Purple Song Sage’s barrier successfully blocked Jin Lin’s watery attack, but at the same time, bolts of lightning descended from the sky, striking precisely where Jin Lin had soaked the ground.

The lightning wasn’t overwhelmingly powerful, but it was as dense as a prearranged net.

With no way to dodge, the little demons could only wail as the lightning struck them. Though the bolts weren’t lethal, their drenched bodies conducted the electricity perfectly.

Like a song stuck on repeat, the lightning crackled incessantly around them.

The little demons convulsed wildly, and Jin Lin, seemingly unsatisfied with the intensity, waved his hand to summon a few more bolts.

Having always been the one electrocuted by Mo Changxing, he now relished the chance to watch others suffer—and even amplify their torment. The feeling was downright exhilarating!

Cuihua, who had been sent by Purple Song Sage to brew tea, emerged just in time to witness the tail end of the pandemonium.

As the lightning faded, the twitching little demons stood with their fur standing on end, faces blackened. Some even exhaled puffs of smoke when they opened their mouths.

“M-Master… your… tea!” Cuihua stammered, placing the tray on Purple Song Sage’s table before hastily retreating.

She’d only been gone to make tea—what horrific event had transpired in her absence? Since she hadn’t participated, would the master subject her to a repeat performance?

No way! She might not be a stunning beauty, but she was still a girl. She didn’t want to turn into charcoal!

*THUD! THUD! THUD!*

One after another, the little demons collapsed to the ground, followed by weak, pitiful groans.

Amid the sea of charred figures, only Mo Changxing and Jin Lin stood tall and unruffled.

Acting as though he hadn’t noticed the little demons’ misery, Jin Lin shamelessly asked, “Alright, the group brawl—no, the group battle—is over! Now, onto the one-on-one matches. Who’s first?”

The little demons: 〒_〒

These senior brothers are terrifying!

Purple Song Sage: -_-||

You’ve already wiped them out—what’s left to “spar”?

“What? No takers?” Jin Lin raised an eyebrow smugly, only to feel someone cling to his leg.

A thoroughly fried little demon sobbed, “We were wrong, senior brothers!!! Let’s talk this out—no need for violence!”

Jin Lin shook his head disapprovingly. “Ah, junior brother, what nonsense! This is just friendly sparring between brothers—there’s no right or wrong here!

“Besides, we’re cultivating immortal arts, not learning to brawl like street hooligans. How can we improve if we don’t practice?”

Before the little demon could react, Jin Lin flicked his foot, sending the clinging disciple flying out of sight.

The nearby demons scrambled backward, desperate to avoid being the next victim. These senior brothers were downright terrifying!

“Come on, everyone! Get up and spar with us! Don’t worry—no life-threatening injuries!” Jin Lin beckoned cheerfully.

The little demons:

Even if we won’t die, getting maimed is worse!

“So, are you all refusing to spar?” Jin Lin frowned as the demons retreated further.

“YES!” they wailed in unison, loud enough to leave no room for misunderstanding.

“Master, our junior brothers and sisters say they don’t want to continue. What should we do?” Jin Lin asked with feigned innocence.

Purple Song Sage:

You two black-hearted rascals beat them to a pulp—who in their right mind would dare to fight you now?!
