Chapter 205: A Bizarre Case (1)

With Yun Sisi voluntarily following along, the Purple Song Sage no longer called Jin Lin over to accompany him in playing chess. His original intention was to separate Yun Sisi and Jin Lin, so it didn’t matter who left with him. What mattered was taking Yun Sisi away and keeping her under control, lest this woman’s loose tongue expose her identity—and that of Mo Changxing—as members of the Demon Clan!

As for Jin Lin, being able to stay behind and accompany Yun Qingxue was nothing short of a blessing. He was now Xuexue’s senior brother~ Spending more time together as senior and junior siblings might just allow him to charm his way into bringing her home as his wife~

But…

The master had left, that inexplicable Yun Sisi had left too—so why was Mo Changxing still here?!

“Senior Brother, your Miss Sisi has left with the master. You all seemed quite familiar with her—aren’t you going to check on her?” Jin Lin raised an eyebrow, smiling as he asked, though he couldn’t shake a strange feeling. Yun Sisi… that name sounded vaguely familiar. Had he heard it somewhere before? Maybe someone in his aquatic clan was also named Yun Sisi?

Mo Changxing’s gaze was icy, not even sparing Jin Lin a glance. Instead, he turned to Yun Qingxue and said, “Junior Sister, let’s find a quiet place. I’ll help you refine the spiritual energy in your body.”

“If Senior Brother has matters to attend to, you may go ahead,” Yun Qingxue replied with a faint smile.

Though she had never met the girl called Sisi, from the way the girl had looked at Mo Changxing earlier and his reactions, she could tell they were acquainted.

“I have nothing to attend to,” Mo Changxing replied, a hint of awkwardness flickering across his face.

Time passed swiftly.

Under the clear night sky, stars dotted the darkness, shining as brilliantly as diamonds.

Walking through the night, Yun Qingxue slowly made her way back to her residence.

Over the course of the afternoon, Mo Changxing had helped her refine another portion of the spiritual energy that the Purple Song Sage and others had previously transferred to her.

Yun Qingxue felt the power within her body grow even more abundant. Yet at the same time, a faint discomfort emerged—a sensation like tiny insects gnawing at her bones, emanating from the deepest parts of her body.

The feeling was sporadic but persistent, growing more pronounced the more Mo Changxing helped her refine the energy.

Originally, Mo Changxing had wanted to refine even more for her, but due to her sudden discomfort, they had to stop.

“Qingxue, rest well.”

“Xuexue, rest well.”

Not far away, Jin Lin and Mo Changxing watched as Yun Qingxue entered her residence. They exchanged a glance, each turning away with mutual disdain before leaping back to their own quarters.

“My lady.” Daisi, who had welcomed Yun Qingxue inside, busied herself diligently with serving her.

Yun Qingxue used a simple cleansing spell to tidy herself up while Daisi helped her loosen her pinned-up hair and remove her outer robe.

*Knock knock.* Just as Yun Qingxue was about to lie down and rest, she heard a knock at the door.

“I’ll see who it is,” Daisi said, seeking permission.

“Mmm,” Yun Qingxue replied lazily.

The door opened to reveal a young woman standing gracefully at the threshold. She wore a violet gossamer dress adorned with emerald patterns, her hair pinned with a ruby-studded golden hairpin. Her features were delicate as flowers, yet her pretty face carried an unmistakable air of hostility.

Though she had only seen her once, Daisi immediately recognized her—it was Miss Sisi, the girl who had appeared so abruptly that afternoon.

“Miss Sisi, what brings you here so late?” Daisi inquired politely.

“And what are you? Who gave you the right to speak to me?” Yun Sisi’s words were sharp and humiliating from the very start.

Daisi lowered her head. She had always known her place was lowly. If not for her lady’s kindness in taking her in, she would still be a mere flower spirit, forced to hide from those who sought to harm her.

Faced with Yun Sisi’s arrogance and aggression, Daisi lacked the confidence to retaliate.

“Get out of my way!”

Daisi’s meekness only deepened the disdain in Yun Sisi’s eyes. They say a servant reflects their master—if this useless wretch was so spineless, her mistress must be just as pathetic!

“Miss Sisi!” Though Daisi couldn’t muster the courage to counter Yun Sisi’s scorn, the moment she saw the girl rudely attempt to barge into the room, she instinctively reached out to block her.

“I said get out of my way!” Yun Sisi’s voice turned icy.

Daisi’s heart trembled, but she forced herself to stand firm, though her eyes wavered slightly. “If Miss Sisi wishes to see my lady, please allow me to announce you first!”

“Pah!” Yun Sisi glared at Daisi with open hostility and sneered. “I’m gracing her with my presence—why should I wait? Does she deserve that?”

Daisi’s face flushed crimson at Yun Sisi’s insults. She might be timid! She might be of lowly birth! But her lady was the noblest existence in her heart—how dare this woman speak of her like that?!

“In that case, Miss Sisi may take back your ‘grace.’ My lady has no need for it!” Daisi straightened her back, shedding her earlier timidity as she lifted her chin proudly. She steeled herself inwardly. They could bully her all they wanted, but no one was allowed to disrespect her lady! Her lady was the most revered monarch of their floral clan—a sovereign not to be defiled by anyone!

Even if it cost her life, Daisi would defend her lady’s dignity!

“You wretched servant!” Yun Sisi, unaccustomed to being insulted so elegantly, immediately raised her hand and struck without hesitation—aiming straight for Daisi’s fair cheek.
