Chapter 203: The Heart of Jealousy

Yun Sisi hid behind a tree, watching the fierce battle between the three masters in the sky. Only then did she realize that it wasn’t the Purple Song Sage who had released her!

It was clearly a stray force from the clash between these three that had accidentally struck the place where she was trapped, granting her this unexpected freedom!!!

Among the three figures engaged in combat, one was unmistakably her beloved elder brother, Mo Changxing!

But who were the other two? Why were they fighting with Changxing-gege? Didn’t her father say that the Purple Song Sage was an incredibly powerful figure? If so, how dare anyone challenge Changxing-gege in his own territory?

Suddenly, Yun Sisi’s gaze fell upon Yun Qingxue, who stood on the grass across from her. With just one glance, the girl’s beauty and poise ignited an inexplicable jealousy in her heart.

Who was that woman? Why was she here? Did she know Changxing-gege? Or worse—had she used her looks to seduce him?

The moment she arrived, Changxing-gege had confined her with a barrier. Looking back now, could it have something to do with that woman?

Seeds of suspicion and envy festered in her heart, and Yun Sisi’s eyes burned with fury as she glared at Yun Qingxue with undisguised hostility.

Yun Qingxue sensed something amiss and turned her gaze precisely in Yun Sisi’s direction. She felt as if something—or someone—was watching her intently.

When Yun Qingxue looked over, Yun Sisi quickly ducked behind the tree trunk, hiding completely.

Once concealed, however, a surge of irritation rose within her.

Here she was, a princess of the demon race, forced to hide from some unknown woman…

Why should she hide? That woman’s face—just looking at it made her want to ruin it! So bewitching, so obviously wicked! A vile temptress, ugh!

Yun Qingxue stared curiously in Yun Sisi’s direction for a moment, her heart stirring with an odd sensation, as if she could sense something but couldn’t quite grasp it. She tried to focus, but the feeling remained elusive.

Puzzled, she withdrew her gaze just as the three combatants separated, landing gracefully on the ground.

The duel hadn’t reached its conclusion. When Mo Changxing was clearly at a disadvantage, the Purple Song Sage and Jin Lin simultaneously withdrew their attacks in unspoken agreement.

First, this duel was meant to give Yun Qingxue a chance to observe and learn. Second, two against one—even a victory wouldn’t be honorable!

“Xuexue!” Jin Lin rushed to Yun Qingxue the moment he landed, flashing her a bright grin.

Yun Qingxue smiled back, recalling how she’d heard Jin Lin and Mo Changxing address each other as martial brothers. A flicker of curiosity lit her eyes.

“Xuexue, there’s something I want to discuss with you,” Jin Lin said cheerfully, his clear eyes blinking playfully at her.

“What is it?” Yun Qingxue blinked back, her large, innocent eyes mirroring his.

Jin Lin’s smile widened. “Xuexue, how about letting me be your shixiong?”

“Huh?” Yun Qingxue frowned, momentarily confused. “Do you also want to become a disciple under my master?”

“I’ve already been accepted by the Sage—while you were in seclusion,” Jin Lin said earnestly. “So now, let’s settle the matter of seniority between us!”

“Settle what?!” Mo Changxing cut in coldly. “You were the last to join. Naturally, you’re the youngest shidi to both Xuexue and me!”

“I refuse to be Xuexue’s shidi!” Jin Lin retorted immediately. Shixiong and shimei—now that sounded sweet. Shidi and shijie? Ugh. That just didn’t bode well for future developments!

“Xuexue, even though I joined a tiny bit later than you, I’m older! And we’re such good friends, right? Calling me shixiong wouldn’t be unfair at all!” Jin Lin coaxed with a grin.

Yun Qingxue blinked, sensing she was about to be sweet-talked into something…

Jin Lin was an important friend who had always looked out for her. If all he wanted was to be her shixiong, how could she refuse?

A bright smile lit her face as she replied sweetly, “Alright then—shixiong!”

“Hahaha! Xuexue, my dear shimei!” Jin Lin accepted eagerly, his entire demeanor radiating triumph at her acknowledgment.

Mo Changxing rolled his eyes, oblivious to Jin Lin’s hidden agenda regarding their titles. To him, Jin Lin’s giddiness over a mere form of address was just plain bizarre—proof that his brain had short-circuited.

“Who’s there?”

Once the three had settled their hierarchy, the Purple Song Sage turned his calm gaze toward the large tree where Yun Sisi was hiding, his tone indifferent.

Behind the tree, Yun Sisi clenched her fists tightly. She’d been right—that woman did know Changxing-gege! When had they met? Had he been bewitched by her?

“Come out!” When no response came, the Purple Song Sage’s voice turned icy, his patience wearing thin as he uttered two sharp words.
