Chapter 20: Smash

“Help~!”

Still suspended in mid-air, Yun Qingxue let out a sharp, ear-piercing scream.

Lan Xin frowned and withdrew her spell, allowing Yun Qingxue to slowly descend to the ground.

The moment her feet touched solid ground, Yun Qingxue immediately dashed behind the kneeling Qian Dai, clutching her sleeve tightly. Her large, watery eyes glared warily at Tong Yun, Lan Xin, and Gu Mu. Then, with a pout, she suddenly burst into loud sobs.

“Dai Dai… there are bad people! Waaah—bad people!”

“My lady,” Qian Dai flusteredly tried to comfort Yun Qingxue, but when their eyes met, she clearly saw the concern in her mistress’s gaze.

Warmed by the thought, Qian Dai patted Yun Qingxue’s back and soothed her gently, “Don’t be afraid, my lady. It’s alright!”

“Hmph!” Yun Qingxue pouted, her crying finally subsiding a little.

Tong Yun, however, was growing impatient. She ordered the maids, “Someone, escort Her Majesty the Flower King back to her palace!”

“Yes,” a maid stepped forward, intending to lead Yun Qingxue away.

Naturally, Yun Qingxue had no intention of leaving obediently.

With so many hostile eyes fixed on Qian Dai, she couldn’t reveal that she was no longer “simple-minded.” But as long as she maintained her royal status and occasionally played the fool, no one would dare harm Qian Dai easily!

If she left now, Yun Qingxue had no doubt Tong Yun would seize the chance to cripple Qian Dai’s cultivation again!

“Bad people! Go away!”

So, the moment the maid sent by Tong Yun approached, Yun Qingxue shrieked like a startled cat, flailing her arms wildly.

The maid recoiled in fright.

“Someone! Hurry and take Her Majesty away!” Tong Yun’s brows furrowed deeply, her beautiful eyes filled with malice and disgust.

Several more maids stepped forward, surrounding Yun Qingxue.

“Go away! Bad people! Dai Dai, save me!”

Yun Qingxue waved her arms frantically as she retreated, then—her hand brushed against a red vase, its vibrant hue reminiscent of the fiery phoenix flowers blooming outside.

Without hesitation, Yun Qingxue grabbed the vase and hurled it at the approaching maids.

The maids halted in their tracks, and Yun Qingxue, as if suddenly discovering something amusing, giggled when the vase shattered.

Then…

She dashed toward the other furnishings in the room, grabbing whatever she could and flinging them into the crowd.

“Quick, stop her!” Tong Yun barked at the maids while simultaneously flicking a beam of red light toward Yun Qingxue.

Her opulent Golden Phoenix Palace was instantly reduced to chaos by the “foolish” Flower King. Fury choked Tong Yun, making her wish she could strike Yun Qingxue dead on the spot!

“Snap!”

“Snap!”

Two beams of light shot from different directions, intercepting Tong Yun’s attack.

“Grand Elder, do not act rashly!” Lan Xin remarked coolly after intervening.

“I am not acting rashly,” Tong Yun snapped, glaring at Lan Xin. “But we cannot just let Her Majesty destroy everything!”

“Ah~” Gu Mu sighed at this moment, adding nonchalantly, “If Her Majesty wishes to smash things, what can we do…?”

Tong Yun shot him a glare, but Gu Mu merely shrugged innocently, feigning relief. “Thankfully, Elder Lan Xin and I reacted quickly. If Grand Elder’s spell had struck Her Majesty in the heat of the moment…

Tsk tsk… According to our clan’s laws, casting spells on the Flower King without cause is a crime punishable by death!”

Yun Qingxue, who was thoroughly enjoying her rampage, caught every word.

So the Floris Clan had such a rule? What excellent news!

No matter how weak or bullied she was as the Flower King, as long as she held the title, no one would dare openly harm her!

Emboldened, Yun Qingxue smashed with even greater enthusiasm. Every movable object in the Golden Phoenix Palace became a projectile in her hands.

“Your Majesty, please calm down!”

“Your Majesty, cease your anger!”

As Yun Qingxue wreaked havoc, Gu Mu hopped around, making a show of trying to pacify her.

Tong Yun’s expression had darkened beyond words.

“The Flower King’s Token.”

Just as Tong Yun was about to lose control and attack again, Elder Lan Xin uttered three soft words, instantly extinguishing her murderous intent.

Right—she still hadn’t found the Flower King’s Token. This fool couldn’t die yet.

With that thought, the red glow gathering in Tong Yun’s palm gradually dissipated.

But the moment she withdrew her spell, a small golden goblet came flying through the air.

Tong Yun instinctively raised her arm to block, and the cup struck her squarely.

“Bad person!”

Yun Qingxue stuck out her tongue at Tong Yun, whose face turned ashen with rage.

“My lady!”

Once Yun Qingxue had smashed enough, Qian Dai “attempted” to soothe her.

Yun Qingxue stopped her destruction, pouting at Qian Dai like a pitiful child and muttering, “Dai Dai, they’re all bad people!”

Qian Dai glanced at Tong Yun and the others before saying gently, “My lady, don’t be afraid. There are no bad people here!”

The moment the words left her mouth, even Qian Dai found them unconvincing.

This entire room was filled with schemers!

“Bad people! They’re all bad people! Lying isn’t good!” Yun Qingxue’s bright eyes glared at Qian Dai as she petulantly pointed at everyone else in the room.

“My lady, these are all your subjects. They are not bad people,” Qian Dai continued her forced explanation.

Yun Qingxue pouted, seemingly displeased. She stepped forward and grabbed Qian Dai’s hand. “Dai Dai, come with me! Badness is a disease—if you catch it, you’ll be in trouble!”

“Stop them!”

Before Yun Qingxue could drag Qian Dai more than two steps, Tong Yun’s suppressed rage erupted in the hall.

Guards immediately blocked the exit.

Lan Xin also looked at Yun Qingxue with resignation. “Your Majesty, the matter of Qian Dai’s assault remains unresolved. If you are tired, I can have someone escort you back to rest.”

Yun Qingxue cursed inwardly. *Who needs your escort?!*

Seizing an unnoticed moment, she exchanged a glance with Qian Dai, who then pulled free and knelt once more before Tong Yun and the others.

Yun Qingxue stood beside her, pouting.

“Grand Elder, Second Elder, this servant truly acted without malice. It was Lord Gu who said there was an assassin—that’s why I struck so hard!”

Following their prearranged plan, Qian Dai shifted all blame onto Gu Mu.

“You did it on purpose! How dare you lie? Ouch—!” Fen Yao jumped up again, pointing accusingly at Qian Dai, but winced as her wound flared. During Yun Qingxue’s earlier “tantrum,” many of the thrown objects had targeted Fen Yao, Liang Yue, and Ye Xiang. Without their cultivation, they couldn’t use spells to defend themselves and had been struck repeatedly despite their frantic dodging.
